Thoughts on Greenhouse Academy

Okay so I watched the entire two seasons on Netflix in one day so horray for me I guess cuz I hv no life and at the end of the day I still don’t know how that school works. They were never in any ACTUAL classes so I have no clue how they were expected to know all those trivia facts. Only explanation I have is that the schools like an upper high school from like grades 10 to 13 or something like that. Because it doesn’t seem to have grades either. There was also like… So much heterosexual drama and 0 lgbt+ charcaters which was off putting for the most part but I got over it. It’s just weird but moving on to the characters:

Hayley: My favorite from the get go. Such a badass AND a hardass. My two favorite qualities in a character. And I love how shes basically both an Eagle and a Raven if she tried and I love how she basically abandoned her plan to destroy the school from the inside after being there for just a week or so 😂

Alex: Hella bland. Bella basic. Wasnt interested in him all that much. I mean he was okay but as a main character he was very lacking in personality and story. His focus in the beginning was to get into GHA and after he did that he just became a prop for other characters’ development.

Sophie: Another badass. What she did to Parker was wrong and gross and I’m not sure if she apologized for it but yeah in the end I’m glad she was softly redeemed and added into the plan. She knew when she fucked up and she always chose to fix what she did wrong. Or at least try. Shes a bad ass of a captain was I’m proud of her and I love her.

Jackie: Ultimate badass and hardass. Like she robbed a bank?!? For no apparent reason?!? When are we gonna learn more about that?!? I hated how she was basically pinning for Max the entire time tho but im glad she blossomed and grew alongside Hayley and Max. Shes a good friend and not someone I would wanna cross actually….

Daniel: Started off hating him because he was indeed extremely annoying and just reeked of bull shit but at the end of S2 he’s one of my favorite characters and if that’s not plot development then I have no clue what is. Him standing up to his mom and how he almost blew himself up for Hayley gave me life. I claim him as my child.

Max: Found him annoying really. I’m sure he has some disorder that won’t be mentioned in the show because he far too spazzed to be completely allistic. Which is fine because I love some good representation. He just annoyed me for the entire show and I only liked him around for his computer skills. I kind of hate characters that people are supposed to like just because theyre soft and confused and a little ditzy (like Neville Longbottom). I just find them annoying and wanting to skip their parts. That’s just me tho. I know the fandom loves him but hea just not my cup of tea. Least favorite character actually.

Leo: Straight up asshole. Like how the fuck do you forget you have a whole ass girlfriend? He never forgot. He just thought Aspen was never coming back and he didnt like Aspen at all so he was happy she was gone but didn’t have the fortification to actually break up with her. A hot ass mess really. I loved him in S1 until Aspen came and he turned out to be a fuckboyish skank. But anyways.

Aspen: I know I said Max was my least favorite but Aspen is under his bottom. Shes so annoying and I cringed at her accent and basically whenever she was present in a scene. And she was straight up gonna let my good girl Hayley drown so fuck her for that. She began to redeem herself by saving Jackie and Max but I still don’t like seeing her ass. I hate Aspen because her attitude is horrendus but at the end of the day I feel bad because she came back to GHA just to find that her bf was cheating on her. She still a bitch tho.

Parker: He a lil cute (his actor could definitely get it) but he was a dumbass. Typical cute ass jock. And I was living for it. Until he blew the confession video out of the water by basically trying to pretend Sophie didnt exist. I mean I get it. Sophie betrayed his trust after saying she wouldn’t tell anyone and i would be mad too but I definitely wouldnt go out of my way to antagonize her. Makes you think what kind of captain he wouldve been. Its sad how him and Daniel basically fell apart and he was barely around when S2 was coming to a close. I hope they do more with him.

Brooke: Shes been through so much shit and still came out as a bad bitch. Honestly and actual queen because she took getting free from being hypnotized and immediately having to save the world in stride. A true example of what GHA stands for. Alls well that ends well for her.

Emma: That poor child. Was tricked and then emotionally abused right out of the school. A badass in her own right with her skills and intelligence tho. Sis hacked into NASA so I refuse to let people sleep on this genius.

Ryan and Carter: Someine give these two a break please. On one hand you have Ryan who’s found out she was basically held hostage under drugs for like a year by a guy she saw as a father figure and friend. And then there’s Carter who literally fell into straight up depression after he thought his wife died only to have his kids to off to boarding school and THEN almost get murdered by someone he considered his close friend. Glad they got to enjoy each other again tho. Very wholesome.

Judy, Eric, Jason, Perry, Kyle are Marcus are all shitty people who deserve to rot in jail. Perrys Percy Weasley act had me livid. Weak boned ass. At least he switched to the good side. Still glad to see hes in jail after the emotional abuse he put Emma through. Marcus could have quit frim before Ryans space launch but he didnt and he couldve told Judy to stuff it a long time ago… But he didnt. Then he hypnotized Brooke after pretending to care so hes a sleeze for that. At least he was vital in the world being saved and helped the kids out where he could so that was good. Judy, Eric, Kyle and Perry deserve no words. Byeeeeee trashy excuses of human sewage.

Andddd nowwww theeeee shipsss:

Leo/Hayley/Daniel: Gonna start with the best one in my eyes because as of late ive been OT3 trash. I love them together and I feel like Daniel and Leo could have a very spicey dynamic with Hayley having to moderate often. Then they fall for each other yadda yadda yadda and boom an iconic throuple to stand the test of time. And they both DID almost get themselves killed by yeeting a bomb over the ocean but they did it with team work and precision. So who knows.

Hayley/Jackie: I love me some wlw relationships and like I said GHA is SEVERLY lacking in the LGBT+ area. These two are just so great and wouldve been an awesome pairing tbh. Theyre very similar and Hayley pulls Jackie out of her safe space whilst Jackie reigns Hayley in and gives her some bomb ass advice.

Alex/Brooke: Very vanilla, very expected, very boring. I love that they got together in the end cuz I love happy endings but overall I don’t have much to say.

Max/Emma: Can’t believe Emma got rejected by Neville, I mean Max. Tough blow seeing as all he did for two seasons was chase after this girl and pine after her. I was rooting for them but interactions between them were quite awkward so I understand why they just cut that right there.

Max/Jackie: I like them as friends but you can tell Jackie liked Max from the beginning (for whatever reason. Probably because hes hopless and she needs a new puppy but anyways) I feel like Max saying he loved Jackie came out of literally nowhere seeing as he friendzoned her right up until the end after showing a tiny bit of romantic interest at the beginning of S1. But they kissed and I felt happy for Jackie because it was obvious she liked him so yay happy endingssss!!! I would honestly hate to see them act all couplely in S3 but that would come with the territory I guess so I’m strapping myself down to cringe some more. Still was kind of boring for me because you could see that they were clearly going to end up together. But it is what it is.

Leo/Hayley: Started out cute until Aspen and then it was shown how much of a skank Leo really is. But it was indeed really cute but then I don’t remember Leo apologizing for the Aspen mess (tell me if he did and I just forgot) so I won’t ship them until Leo reproves himself. They couldve been great.

Daniel/Hayley: Fantastic teamwork and chemistry. I’m glad Hayley brought Daniel out of his shell and they bonded over freeing Brooke from the hypnosis. Out of all the couples in the show I think these two have the mkst actual chemistry together and I love it.

Sophie/Parker: They wouldve been cute together and Parker was so cute when he was trying to get her attention and show her he liked her and even he told her he loved her. The shame came when Sophie went and messed with the media and exposed Parker after promising not to. And then the whole battle mess went down between them. I’m not sure what would save their relationship now tbh. Just gotta hope for the best I guess. This too could’ve been great. I feel like they bounced off each other well.

Sophie/Alex: Very much bestie goals. I could see people seeing the romance because Sophie clearly likes Alex but I’m down for them being friends too. Sophie did fuck Alex over at the beginning of the show (what is WITH Sophie embarrassing boys that like her?) But Alex quickly got over that and they developed a sweet friendship. If Alex breaks up with Brooke I expect him to run to Sophies arms (which Sophie probably wont have open because of girl code but its okay I never needed to have what I wanted to be happy)

Daniel/Alex: I liked the little bromance and bestfriend vibe that these guys’ relationship took. This is ship I could see sailing because I feel like both of the Woods kids need a taste of Danny boy. I just like em together. Alex is a male Hayley and I’m 100% down to see that happen.

Daniel/Leo: These two stayed dancing around each other and fighting for Hayleys affection. But what if they wanted each others affection? 10/10 support this. Daniel has a trend if turning enemies into lovers so why not do it with Leo? (As an aside if there’s any DanielxLeo fic out there…. Drop me a link thanks) As I said before the two work very well together and as such I want to see more interactions between them.

Overall it was a fun show and I think Daniel is the one Hayley is gonna hook up with and I cant wait for S3! If youve made it this far you honestly deserve a donut 🍩🍩🍩
