One of the best parts of season 11 was the choice to depict Ian as being completely unable to be in the same vicinity as Mickey for more than a few seconds without touching or grabbing or putting his arms around him or wrestling him or

starting the rumor that he thinks the world could explode if he stops touching mickey. but seriously, we really need to talk more about that, about how they need constant physical touch. half of the time it's not even about comforting the other or something similar, it's just because they can. it's simply because they can, so they do it.

i mean, i guess at that point of the show and their relationship they do certain things so much because they couldn't at the start of their relationship. they used to exist with so many restrictions so now it feels almost exaggerated but it's not, it's that now they can after years of secrecy, hiding and fear.

hey, sorry for replying so late ive been sick but im feeling better now and yeah, i do have some headcanons:

in general, they do that kind of stuff in a playful tone if that makes sense but they actually like it even if sometimes it looks like they're making fun of it. but ian absolutely opens the door for mickey, offers his jacket to mickey when it's cold.

and i will die on this hill, i totally think mickey buys ian flowers from time to time, specially when they plan a date night. and he also does the whole knocking the door thing to pick ian up even though they're literally married and live in the same house but it's funny and cute and he thinks ian deserves that.

what are ian and mickey up to this week?

They are adjusting to going back to work. The first morning, Ian had to unwrap Mickey from the blanket burrito he’d created and practically drag him out of bed. They’ve gotten takeout two nights in a row which out of the ordinary because they usually try and cook together after work. They’re just a bit tired and not in the mood to do much.

Ian got a bit down when they took down their Christmas decorations because it made their apartment look a bit bare and so Mickey suggested they keep some of the lights up. Not the ones that look really colourful, but a simple string of white lights. He hangs them over the curtain rail in their bedroom and it looks really nice. They have an early night and snuggle under the blankets together, they fall asleep quite quickly and forget to turn off the lights but it gives their bedroom quite a soft, romantic vibe so it’s easy to sleep.

They wake up feeling a bit brighter in the morning and work doesn’t seem so bad. Ian chooses the songs they play while they work and Mickey takes a detour so they grab some donuts from a new fancy place that just opened up. So the week wasn’t going so great but it’s going much better now! 💖

i saw a post about s1 mandy and i have to say it, I LOVE s1 mandy like do not get me wrong i love her but i think she was or seemed too naive and idk bright ?? for mandy's character, a character that i think it's much darker, much sadder and melancholic and it could've been just the natural development of her character but the "new" mandy made more sense for me

so i was thinking about their "reunion" in s7 and i feel like we always talk about the sad part of it, the fact that mickey probably had some fears and wondered if ian actually wanted to see him etc but i don't think we talk enough about how proud mickey must had felt when ian told him more about his life at that time. i mean, in s6 ian doesn't say anything and either way his situation was mostly the same so you could say that the last time he saw ian, he was lost and hopeless and mad at himself and mad at the world. he left a version of ian that didn't have dreams, aspirations and like i said, was lost and for ian feeling lost and having no direction was a devastating thing because knowing exactly what he wanted and working for it used to be a very vital part of his identity.

but then he sees him again in s7 and ian isn't lost anymore. he found a new dream, new aspirations. he had a job, he felt like himself again, he was a whole again. i just know that mickey felt proud and not only mentioned the uniform because he looked good in it but because he was curious and wanted to know and ian looked, well, found. he found himself again, he was on his feet again. mickey was probably really proud of him and i know he had faith in ian, he knew ian wasn't "fucked for life" even if he felt like that, ian had a whole world of options and opportunities.

and i personally think this is one of the reasons why he didn't get mad or that mad when ian told him he couldn't cross that border with him, i think mickey understood he couldn't leave that behind. he understood ian couldn't live in chaos again, he needed a path, a routine, work towards something, have aspirations and goals and normalcy. so he understood and didn't insist, didn't push or force him. i think he understood so many of ian's decisions when it came to leaving more than we think even if it hurt.

anyways, i actually don't remember half of the year lmao but here's some good things about it:

i dont have an official diagnosis or anything but ive had for a long time some suspicious about me having adhd and it's been really good and almost calming if it makes sense to hear and learn about adhd and talk about it with friends that either are close with someone with it or think they can have it too. it's been nice to put a name to a lot of things that frustrated me, made me feel like a bad student and made me feel lazy but also wonder why some things weren't simple for me and other people seemed to find them easy. at some point ill get a diagnosis, of course, even though it's intimidating but yeah

ive met extremely cool people that i wanna keep in my life

louis' concert, obviously. that was one of the best nights of my life

ive found shameless and this little corner of the internet where everyone loves ian and mickey as much as i do

im still fighting for my life but ive kinda been writing every day again
