I've come to understand that pro-Palestinian activists interpret this kind of Nazi evocative messaging exclusively as "Israel is Nazi, and we must act against them accordingly," while Jews will see it as a Nazi call to action to commit genocide. I think the latter is more intuitive, that it makes more sense if you're familiar with Nazis the way Jews are, because it fits with actual Nazi behavior. Nazis have a long history of trying to intimidate Jews with Nazi shit like spray painting swastikas and referencing the desire to commit genocide, and pro-Palestinian activists seamlessly started up the same behavior with what they think is absolutely obvious intent to expose how Israel is Nazi and think backlash is because Jews are ashamed to realize that they're the new Nazis. There might be a few actual Nazis among them, but they're kind of hidden because the vast majority of these activists think that it's all about exposing Israel's guilt as a genocidal entity and don't even realize that they look like Nazis themselves.
This guy here is confusing. His sign has an Israeli flag, the phrase "Final Solution", and then a Palestinian flag. It could mean something like "Israel [performs the action of a] Final Solution [upon] Palestine", and I suspect that this is how he's read by those around him. It could also be something like "Israel [needs a] Final Solution. Free Palestine!", which is how basically every Jew reads it because that's what people normally mean when they throw Nazi slogans around. He's not like that one January 6th Nazi with the "Camp Auschwitz: 6 million wasn't enough" shirt that has clarity of meaning. He's kind of an inflammatory Rorschach test: you see what you expect to see. It's not a smoking gun unless he learns how to communicate better and sounds more distinctly Nazi next time.
I think the Beetlejuice musical has a few improvements on the film. First, by changing the method of releasing him from saying his name three times in your lifetime to three times in a row, Lydia has more agency. When she releases him, you know she means it. Second, she's more sadistic in the play, which makes her a better foil for him and, ultimately, more compatible. They also hang a lampshade on how inappropriate pairing them up is, which is more than we usually get from the franchise.
I remember liking Doug as a kid, but itâs kind of obnoxiously slow-paced when I revisit it. I had misremembered its strangely colored people as about Doug's family being normal white people moving to this town where everyone is a weird color, but Doug himself and one of Roger's lackeys are the only normal white people; everyone else, including Doug's parents, are represented with strange skin colors. It's interesting when ethnicities are not immediately discernable by skin color, and you must pay attention to other social cues.
On that note, I didn't remember that Roger was Jewish, and he seems to have been done up as a bit of an antisemitic caricature. He's the bad guy, and his design communicates that antagonism with his nose being long and pointed aggressively in a way evocative of those old devil designs that lean into antisemitism; his green color is more gross/obnoxious than other green people in this world, and he is frequently compared to a reptile. The contrast with Doug as a normal white Christian emphasizes the problem. I'm not sure if it's better or worse that he's based on a real guy who hassled the show creator as a kid, but I'm leaning towards worse.
The Iranian Regime is going to execute rapper Toomaj Salehi for supporting protests of Jina Aminiâs murder by the regime in his songs.
Iranian activist Elica Le Bon says, âIranians in the diaspora picked up on the fact that the regime tends not to execute people who become known to the international community. We have seen many examples of prisoners that were either released on bail or had their sentences commuted through our âsay their names to save their livesâ campaign on social media, using hashtags to garner attention for their causes, and even before social media existed, through getting the stories of political prisoners to international media outlets. Once reported on, and once the eyes shift to the regime and the reality of its pending brutality, realizing that the action is not worth the repercussions, we have seen them back down and not execute. For that reason, this is part of an urgent campaign for readers to talk about Toomaj as much as you can, using the hashtag #FreeToomaj or #ToomajSalehi. Every comment makes a difference, and if we were wrong, what did we lose by trying?â
Treat anything on Discord as media that will be lost
Do not use Discord to host your files. Do not rely on Discord to preserve your text. DO NOT RELY ON DISCORD FOR ANY KIND OF PRESERVATION OR HOSTING!!
It CAN be lost, it WILL be lost! You must consider Discord as a part of the Core Internet, controlled by one company that hosts the servers.
I thought it was impressive at first that it replaced IRC, but now I am horrified. If the company behind Discord went under today, how many friends would you lose?
How many relationships? How much writing?
You may think this won't happen, but I remember when AIM went down and along with it, entire novels worth of interaction with my oldest friend.
IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU. IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. NO COMPANY IS INFALLIBLE.
Back up your files! Download anything you've saved to Discord NOW, before the API changes go into effect! And DO NOT RELY ON THEM FOR HOLDING IMPORTANT FILES!
Iâd been eyeing this stunning design by @aleksibriclot for years, and a little while ago (after two years of working on it) I finally finished it! It has all the dark norse fantasy vibes that I wanted Ragnarok to be, and I figured hey, I can make it myself!
I had to up a lot of my leatherworking skills for this one, and I dove into a lot of new skills as well to try to make all the pieces a cohesive whole. It uses lambskin leather, suede cowhide, and veg tan, as well as an entire sheepskin for the cape!
This whole costume has truly been a labour of Loki love and Iâm so glad I was able to share all the madness (process) and the finished look!
one time i had a dream that tiktok users deemed âkidâ as a slur and that you HAD to refer to them as minors otherwise you would get harassed and threatened with doxxing. you couldnât say âwhen i was a kidâ anymore for example you HAD to say âwhen i was a minorâ instead
It was Scott Wilson, who was born in the 1940s in Georgia. He played a farmer in Georgia in The Walking Dead. He died in 2018, but I saw him at a con a few years before then.

I think this is a farming community thing. People who work with goats and actively use "kids" to mean young goats don't think of "kids" as synonymous with "children" and get pissed off when other people do. The guy who played Hershel in The Walking Dead was one of them and had dialog rewritten because he was adamant that no one in a farming community would say "kids" to mean "children". "Kids" are goats! (He ranted about it at Comic Con.)

Photographers all know about polarizing filters. They remove reflections off the surfaces of objects. We use them to see into water or windows that are obscured by those reflections. But anything with an even slightly glossy surface has a layer of reflection on top. So if you have a shiny green plant, it can remove the shiny and reveal a very saturated green underneath. Polarizers also remove a lot of scattered and reflected light from the sky. Which reveals a deep blue color you didn't even know was there.
Here is a photo I took of my circular polarizer.
And the first thing I noticed when walking outside during the eclipse was the color of everything was more saturated, just like in that circle. Apparently, an eclipse significantly reduces polarized light and I got this creepy feeling because I was only ever used to seeing the world like that through the viewfinder of my camera.
The other thing I noticed was my outdoor lights. I leave them on all the time because I never remember to turn them on at night. And usually the sun will render them barely visible during the day. On a very sunny day they almost look like they are off.
But you can clearly see they are shining and even flaring the camera during the eclipse.
Our eyes adjust to lighting changes very well so it was hard to tell how much dimmer things were, but that is a good indication. I took this photo a few minutes ago and you can see how dim the lights appear after the moon has fucked off.
I did a calculation using the exposure settings between these two photos. The non-eclipse photo has 7 f-stops more light. That is 128 times or 12,700% more light.
A partial Pringle eclipse cut the sun's light by 99.2% and somehow our eyes adjusted to make it seem like a normal sunny day (with weird ass saturated colors).
Hey Sammie, a while back, you made a post about some tucking panties that you were either sponsored by or just really liked. I was looking through and can't seem to find the post. Would you be about to post a link to them? Thanks a bunch in advance!
Yaaassssswssss! The company is called Tcomfifits! Link to follow! I still do the occasional promo work for them, just haven't kept up with it as much due to life being silly and hectic, but seriously I still only wear these undies. I actually threw away a good majority of my old undied once I got my comfifits. But I digress, I have been in contact with the company recently and was going to start doing some promos again in the very near future, so I'm really glad that you asked!
ALSO BIG NEWS!!!
Tcomfifits is planning to release another line of undies next month!!! And girl they are about to put out tucking thongs!
