It’s me, hi!

Hi Tumblr, I’m new here. I finally decided to join because there’s something I want to share with the world and I don’t know where else to do it.

First, I think I need to introduce myself. I’m a 32 year old Swiftie . I guess that makes me a geriatric Swiftie (or an ancient Swiftie, as is currently trending on Twitter). I have loved Taylor Swift since the summer of 2008, when I listened to “Our Song” and “Tim McGraw” - if this Tumblr thing works out maybe I can tell you how I made those to my songs for years.

Anyways, since 2010 I had been toying with the idea of using Taylor songs to write a musical, sort of like Mamma Mia did with ABBA. Back then there were only two albums to work with but I swear I had an idea going. See, in 2010 I kissed my friend’s ex boyfriend and I felt really guilty, so she was a character who would sing “Should’ve Said No” and we would both sing “Fifteen”, pretending like we met then although we met when I was four. But… I never wrote it.

Until last year.

And so, that’s why I’m here - to anonymously share my Taylor Swift inspired #musical with the world. Before I share, there’s three things I’d like to say:

English is not my first language, so please don’t judge me if the grammar isn’t perfect;

I finished writing this before #Midnights came out so no songs from that album are included - not because I don’t love it; and,

While I wrote the words, I can’t say I wrote this by myself - it’s 17 years of Taylor’s work and needs to be acknowledged as such!

It’s kind of long and since I’m new here so I need to figure out how I’ll post it on here but in a couple of days I’ll put up the character names and their descriptions, and we can get the ball running.

Oh, and the musical is called “New Romantics: A Taylor Swift Musical”.
