I love the weight of my rose, its smooth and fits nicely in my hand. My rose is clear on the outside but blue and red on the inside. Holding my rose in my hand makes it feel secure, like for some reason it is safe. Yes, it does!! I think that there is more to it, like it could have mystical attributes. No, my rose is not dangerous but can inflict harm. I think that it would make a great gift but I feel that it is something that chooses who its owner is. I held my rose with me all day, then when I got home we took amazing photos together. I accidentally dropped it and freaked out cuz I thought it would have broke, but it didn't. I ended up using setting it on fire and was amazed with how long it kept its warmth. It does not have a name, and yes I am super stoked with it! I would very much like to keep it.

Hey
I thought the Rose felt like glass. It looks like clear glass with hints of blue and yellow paint in the center. It feels like a stress ball. It looks more like a rose on different surfaces. It's personality would be love, which is similar to me. The rose looks dangerous in a way that I don't want to risk losing it. It would be a good gift to a loved one. I haven't named the emotionless Rose, but it still makes me happy. I would keep it to collect dust.

I put Black Rosa beside the white rose on my altar, blessed and christened her.

It reminded me of two things - an anarchist bookstore in Sydney Australia I liked to go to in the 80s.
And Rosa Luxemburg, the early 20th century revolutionary. So I named my rose 'Rosa.'

The rose stayed in my purse and went everywhere I went for the last two days. I am glad the bottom is no longer sharp. It is generous of you to offer the rose.Having your rose made me think of Gertrude Stein's
Sacred Emily
, 1913 from which I extracted these tow lines that made me think of your rose:
Rose is a rose is a rose is a rose.
Loveliness extreme.
Next to hurry and glass and china.
Next to hurry and glass and hurry.
collected in:
Geography and Play (Boston: Four Seas Co., 1922), pp. 178-188 elected Writings of Gertrude Stein, Vintage Books, 1990 Writings: 1903-1932, ed. Catharine R. Stimpson and Harriet Chessman (New York: Library of America, 1998), 387-96. also these references to a rose in other Stein works:: Do we suppose that all she knows is that a rose is arose is a rose is a rose. (Operas and Plays) . . . she would carve on the tree Rose is a Rose is a Rose is a Rose is a Rose until it went all the way around. (The World is Round) A rose tree may be a rose tree may be a rosy rose tree if watered. (Alphabets and Birthdays) Indeed a rose is a rose makes a pretty plate . . . .(Stanzas in Meditation) When I said. A rose is a rose is a rose is a rose. And then later made that into a ring I made poetry and what did I do I caressed completely caressed and addressed a noun. "Poetry and Grammar," Lectures in America (Boston: Beacon Press, 1985), p. 231. Civilization begins with a rose. A rose is a rose is a rose is a rose. It continues with blooming and it fastens clearly upon excellent examples. (As Fine as Melanctha) Lifting belly can please me because it is an occupation I enjoy. Rose is a rose is a rose is a rose. In print on top. (Bee Time Vine) Now listen! I'm no fool. I know that in daily life we don't go around saying is a is a is a. Yes, I'm no fool; but I think that in that line the rose is red for the first time in English poetry for a hundred years. (Four in America (New Haven: Yale University Press, 1947).

If it wanted a name..
The rose feels smooth. It's made of clear and red glass. It feels like holding a rock, which is a good thing I guess. While I don't think it has a personality, I think that the more time an object spends with someone, the more it takes on that person's perspective and intentions. So, it's not dangerous unless that person intends to use it in a dangerous way. I think it would make a good gift for anyone as long as you explain why you're giving it. Or maybe you don't have to explain; that depends on who you're giving the rose to. I kept it in my backpack so I wouldn't lose it. I didn't name it because it's not mine. If it wanted a name, the name would have found the rose. I would think that it is happy but is also probably sick of my backpack. Yes, the rose does kind of make me happy and I'm not sure why, and yes I would keep it.

Rose mint
It feels heavy but fragile, it looks like mint candy, holding it makes me feel relaxed, looks like a fancy paperweight, I feel like it's personality would be innocent and sweet, I'm not sure if I relate to it too much except it looks peaceful. I don't find it dangerous, it would make a cool gift, not sure who I'd give it to, I put it on a table it looked good on, I guess I could call the Rose mint, I like it, if I could I would definitely keep it.

a not-too-late response
Holding it in my hand makes me feel like examining it more closely, especially the small details and textures on the glass. The other surface is soft with less texture. The personality to me seems to be a quite one, but inviting at the same time. The rose is not dangerous and it would make a great gift for possibly close friends. It's definitely something I would like to keep.

My rose's name is Violet because she does not identify with her flower self. Violet is a strong rose, one that despite the changes in seasons, survives and blossoms each year. She has a very calming yet powerful energy and I love being around her. While I get caught up in the every day stresses of life and work, Violet is always serene. When I hold her I feel happy and calm. Yesterday, I decided to take Violet on the walk I take to and from work. No one has been on this walk with me before so I was happy to share it with someone. The walk from my place to work takes about 30 minutes and varies from flat to uphill and downhill. In my mind I see the walk as having 3 distinct legs. From work, the first leg is from the CCA iron gates to the corner of Piedmont and Pleasant Ave. down the street from the cemetery. The second leg is from Piedmont Ave. to the mailbox up the hill. The third and final leg is from the mailbox to my building. I decide to document each leg by taking a picture of Violet at each one. Here she is at each leg of our walk.
