Summary:

Halfway through his interaction with Stiles, Derek realized his head was throbbing and he was clenching his jaw so tightly his teeth ached. His fangs threatened to drop, and he was still struggling for control after Stiles had disappeared into the sheriff���s office. Derek didn’t stop struggling even after Stiles walked past his desk ten minutes later, saluted, and left the building. Not until long after his scent had faded.

In which Stiles unknowingly causes a phantom heat in Derek and then offers to help him through it. Against Derek’s better judgment, he accepts.

More thoughts on comment etiquette since I've been reading some really interesting reddit threads on the subject.

One argument that comes up from folks who in the camp of 'I can say whatever I want. I don't need to be polite!' is that the work is shared publicly and you can say whatever you want in the comments. But these are often the same people who get angry when the author/other readers reply in the same fashion. By their own logic, the reply is now public and the author and readers can reply how they want. Why should they be treated any differently?

And if said commenters are finding repeatedly that they're getting consistent feedback on why their comments are coming across badly, but they can't step back and evaluate how they could improve their approach...it's very hard to take them seriously and is a red flag towards bad faith comments with some sort of selfish agenda to make all fic conform to their specific preferences.

The thing is, I'm sure a lot of these folks have awesome and super useful opinions. Why not offer to be an early reader for writers and build relationships so their opinions are met with gratitude and probably be a lot more helpful? Or at the very least check if an author is interested in hearing their suggestions & do their best to be polite when giving their suggestions.

I had to pause ep 7 to just let out a bunch of feelings at once. I'm sure by the episode's end I will have more but like. As soon as Geralt tells Jaskier to take Ciri to Kaer Morhen I was SCREAMING. I'm not holding my breath that it will play out like this which is why I paused to imagine a scene of Jaskier and Ciri bonding and bantering like we got to have with her and Yen (ya know before all the drams.)

The Geralt/Jaskier has been lovely and I'm happy the show is including his deep friendship with Jaskier as something he's more able to be honest now that his acceptance of his Child Surprise/love for Ciri has cracked him wide opened and softened him. I feel like he's really being treated as one of Geralt's most important relationships which is so important since that's something that is true across source materials and one of those things that would be devastating to lose.

(Tho tbh still nothing has topped the dynamic chemistry of the Jaskier/Yennefer this season in terms of my ships. And the Geralt & Ciri dynamic has consistently just fucking melted my heart. When she explicitly calls him the father she never had I DIED.)

(Also bonus shout-out to how much I have enjoyed Fringilla (and her scenes with Francesca) this season. )

I've had this unfinished angsty internalized homophobia geraskier fic told in vignettes just sitting on my computer for YEARS now and ug it won't really fit into s2 in terms plot necessarily but...the *vibes.* Gdi.
