Once the mods do February’s activity check (or before the end of March), I’m going to put in a drop for all of my muses (Shibata Katsuie on @geometragic, Azai Nagamasa on @absurdjustice, and Kato Kiyomasa on @tigerstrategist). Also, I’m cutting down a lot on social media in general for the sake of my mental health, and I’m going to accomplish that in part by leaving Tumblr completely. I’m really thankful for all of my rp partners on here (both indie and in Isola) and the threads I had with all of you ! I just don’t have the time or energy anymore for roleplaying that I had before I started my job, and I don’t want my portrayals of any of my muses to suffer because of it. ^^;

I got a laughtrack
@geometragic
Seiichirou wondered if there was something wrong with his head. Had the overwork finally done it? Even though he’d recently become unemployed? Or perhaps that was the very reason? Everytime he’d have a mishap of some sort  it’d resound around him, no source at sight.
It’d follow him everywhere, along with the mishaps. Seiichirou didn’t think he’d felt easily humiliated but perhaps he was wrong if his mind was playing tricks like this…?
With these thoughts Seiichirou walked past a sign next to fruit isle. A warning.
Floor recently waxed. Please exercise caution when walking.
[LAUGHTRACK]
Tumblr media
“ …. “
There it was again! Seiichirou’s brow furrows.  As if hoping to see a visible source his head turns missing something vital on his way.
A banana peel.
With each step Katsuie took, the small grocery basket he was carrying swayed from side to side. How long had he been in this grocery store, anyways ? It shouldn’t have taken him this long to find what he needed for dinner. Wait, had he just stepped in something mushy ? Before he could question what it was, his feet flew out from under him and he landed with a thud on his back. The laughter of a large group of people reverberated down the aisles. Katsuie caught sight of Seiichirou, before shutting his eyes. Great, so someone he knew had witnessed him fall. There was no way now that Katsuie could pretend this had never happened.
Tumblr media
❛❛ Is this my punishment ? For all the sins I have committed... ? ❜❜ If that was so, then what was the point of fighting against his fate ? Katsuie remained lying on his back on the floor, not even bothering to try to pick himself up.

Katsuie dodged the horde of actors and cameramen dashing away from the woman who’d appeared. From a certain point of view, maybe he should’ve started running with them. What good could come from encountering a stranger all of a sudden ? They were also teammates who had searched for supernatural creatures for several hours. But then again —– several hours was not enough time to forge bonds of friendship. Moreover, did the monster they were hunting even exist ? Had these men led him on a wild goose chase ? If that was the case, then why would Katsuie bother to continue following them ? He gave a hesitant wave back to the woman.
Tumblr media
❛❛ By the phrase ‘true colours’, do you mean... ? ❜❜ A glint of interest appeared in Katsuie’s eyes. After having searched for a fake cryptid for so long, maybe he should’ve been more skeptical. But what if this woman was indeed a supernatural creature ?
@geometragic / starter call.
💛 💜 ❤️ || ❝oh dear, i wasn't supposed to SCARE them off.❞ a taste of their own medicine, she thinks. satori doesn't know how these programs work, but there must be some form of law PREVENTING crew from tormenting the actors on screen, right? always light on her feet, the psychic is, not even trying to be a bother in the SLIGHTEST as she looks over the shoulder of one such camera operator.
but even without the aid of her SPECIAL skill, she caused them to jump, dropping their equipment in the process before SCAMPERING off.
satori waves to the one who REMAINS. clearly none of the sweaty actors chasing nonexistent cryptids into the night. ❝well then, if they were so DESPERATE to find something supernatural, they could have just calmed down for a moment. then again … showing my true colours might be a bit OFF SCRIPT.❞

@soulcrash (Crew Call Event)
What little light remained in Katsuie’s eyes grew dimmer with each passing second. In front of him was a group of grown men, hooting and hollering in an attempt to attract the creature they sought. Earlier, Katsuie might have shouted alongside them, but now ? After several hours, it had become clear to him that the creature they were hunting didn’t exist. Worse than that, he had a sinking feeling that they were all being tricked into acting foolish. Who was finding entertainment in any of this ? The supposed audience watching this ‘show’, or the crew following them around ? It could have been both.
With as many mistakes as Katsuie had made in his life, he had no wish to make yet another one. So he turned to the sole woman beside him. If he remembered correctly, Apollo was also from Spirale. But could he find an ally in her ?
Tumblr media
❛❛ I believe there is no value in continuing to follow these men around. Shall we leave them behind and search for a way to escape from this ‘program’ ? ❜❜

@geometragic
It’s a relief to see Katsuie here, but to be chasing after something that doesn’t exist has noticeably caused him to not be as interested in the ‘job’ than before. Who can blame him really?
Tumblr media
Corvus spares a glance at one of the crew members and approaches Katsuie. “We don’t know if there’s a way out of this,” She starts, voice quiet, “So let’s keep going. I’m sure we’ll figure something out.” ALL she wants is for this to be over and for them to go back. This isn’t Spirale. She doesn’t believe it is.
❛❛ What is there to gain by continuing on ? ❜❜ Katsuie came to a halt, his eyes cast down at the ground. If the soldiers of the Oda clan had been leading him, he would’ve kept walking. No matter how fruitless the results were, he had no right to disobey them. However, Katsuie had no such ties to these strangers.
Tumblr media
❛❛ From what I can comprehend, these men are chasing a creature that is a mere figment of their imaginations. We would sooner perish than learn anything more from them. ❜❜ There was a harsh edge to his words, compared to his usual monotone voice. He’d wanted to see this ‘Bigfoot’ creature so badly ! And yet these men had fooled him into searching for it when it didn’t exist ! Sure, he didn’t deserve any better treatment from other people. But that fact didn’t erase his disappointment.

Crew Call event mutuals-only starter call ! Capped at 2, castmates exempt from the cap.
The program Katsuie will be stuck in is a bad supernatural hunting / reality show (think something similar to Finding Bigfoot). At first, Katsuie would probably be really into trying to hunt down a supernatural creature, but once he realizes that he’s been sent on a wild goose chase / that action only happens because the TV crew is messing with the cast of the show, he’d probably become annoyed and pretty unmotivated in regards to actually finding the supposed creature. Katsuie can also be stuck in your muse’s show instead, if you’d like !

“Erune. my kind is known for fluffy ears above their heads. Some has tails and some hasn’t. It only exist in my world.” Oh lifelike indeed that they weren’t fake. He seemed to get the gist of it even if it’s in a slow progress to him. Skydom has some other races exist and living altogether in several separated sky islands that uses boats that float in the sky through machinery. She isn’t blaming him for not knowing her kind, knowing that he’s from an another world.
Tumblr media
“Nice to meet you. I’ll remember your name.” If one can’t find his name, might as well shrug from the contacts list. She’s aware that he is human which there are no special features.
“So, how long have you been here?” Well, who knows how long Katsuie stayed in Spirale, so she asked.
❛❛ I see. ❜❜ So Erunes looked almost like humans, except they had animal ears and maybe a tail ? That was rather novel, but...somehow, Katsuie was still a bit disappointed. Shouldn’t there have been more to Erunes than that ? It would’ve been interesting if they'd possessed more peculiar traits and behaviors. And what about their interactions with humankind and other creatures ? Katsuie couldn’t help but wish that he could hear stories similar to the ones he’d learned about yokai.
❛❛ It is a pleasure to meet you, as well. ❜❜ How was Katsuie supposed to feel about the Erune making sure to remember his name ? Should he have felt flattered or threatened ? Well, for now, Ilsa seemed to be acting somewhat friendly towards him. Katsuie hoped that that wouldn’t change. If she ever learned more about him and his betrayal, he couldn’t blame her if she became hostile.

existentialismee:
Despite Watanuki’s expectations, Katsuie remained relatively unbothered by the children’s behaviour, even though he was now covered from head to toe in clothing. The caretaker was only able to blink a few times, at first admiring how calm he was able to stay in such a situation– it was something that Watanuki himself needed to work on a little more, especially when it came to not letting the kids get under his skin– but all the same.. it was very like Katsuie not to outwardly react.
“O-oh, um.. thank you, Katsuie-san. You always do so much for me, and I really do appreciate it.. especially when things like this happen,” Watanuki allowed himself a quiet chuckle as he helped to pick up the remainder of the clothing, his arms now just as full as his helper’s. Even if the other man hadn’t been working here long, his presence still meant a great deal to Watanuki. Maybe he was still learning what type of person he truly was, but at his core, Katsuie was very kind– and Watanuki could see that quite easily.
Tumblr media
“Ah, yes! Here is fine. There’s quite a lot, but if we fold them together, I’m sure we can get through it quickly!” going down on his knees, Watanuki placed what he had gathered next to him; bringing up a few shirts to start folding. “And– here, just put everything in this basket when you’re done! I usually separate the older kids’ clothing from the younger ones, so if we put those in first, I can sort them out once I get to their rooms.”
❛❛ You are quite welcome. ❜❜ Katsuie gave Watanuki a small nod, before glancing away. It was so strange to receive words of thanks. When was the last time someone had expressed their gratitude for him like that ? None of his recent supervisors, that was for sure. But then again —– those people had been his employers, while he was a volunteer here. Katsuie couldn’t leave a job with as much ease as he could a volunteer position, and his supervisors had known that. Therefore, there had been no need for them to treat him with any form of politeness. What if Katsuie had been an employee at the orphanage, rather than a volunteer ? Would Watanuki have treated him differently ? For once, however, Katsuie didn’t want to view his situation in such a negative light. Watanuki's kindness appeared to be genuine, from what he could tell. Besides, what would he get out of bearing ill will towards someone who had treated him with respect ?
❛❛ Understood. Although...are you sure you want to fold clothes as well ? I imagine you must be a rather busy man. I believe I can handle the task on my own, if necessary. ❜❜ Folding clothes shouldn’t have been the job of the head of the orphanage. That was what volunteers like Katsuie were for, right ?
Tumblr media
❛❛ But then again, perhaps it would go faster if we worked together, like you said. So...pay no mind to what I said earlier. ❜❜ Watanuki knew whose clothes were whose, right ? If Katsuie worked alone, he could only separate them by size for the younger and older kids. He hadn’t yet learned which clothes belonged to which children. Katsuie sighed —– he hadn’t meant to come off as indecisive. He only wished to help out Watanuki as much as he could. Katsuie didn’t want his inexperience to inconvenience the other man in any way. He started folding the clothes and sorting them according to Watanuki’s directions.

demoniomano:
“Yes.” A simple answer to his question. He isn’t wrong on how to picture her though, as he is right. Kronya is a diabolical being with murderous intents that even her spirit would want to kill Thales or Byleth for sake of vengeance.
It was unexpected to hear that he would rather be here than home. “T-That’s understandable.” Hearing his reason to stay here because of Oichi, could be a motivation to remain here than to head back. He wasn’t wrong if something real bad going to happen if he ever returned back to his world without the woman he loves. Desertion is common if one is in the strongest forces if their loyal member is absent for the long time around.
Tumblr media
“Surely, you only follow orders under your lord’s wing regarding murder, right?” She was surprised to hear that confession. Does his lord take murder like a sport that makes his soldiers do what he wants if he wants an innocent to be slain? That’s close as what Kronya does but only those that gets in her way. Comparing Thales to Nobunaga, the other wins.
“And for what reason you betray him though? Even if it ended in a failure.” This one, she wonders.
❛❛ No. As a member of the Oda clan, I follow any orders Lord Nobunaga or his retainer, Lord Mitsuhide, give me. Whether their commands involve murder does not impact whether I carry them out. ❜❜ The young lady’s question didn’t make much sense to him. Would it be better if Katsuie only committed murder for Lord Nobunaga and Lord Mitsuhide ? To be fair, though, killing people was probably the worst thing he’d been commanded to do. Setting villages and temples on fire was a close second, however.
As for the reason behind his betrayal ——– as much as he didn’t want to talk about it, did he have a choice ? Katsuie was the one who’d brought up his own betrayal, after all. He should’ve expected that this woman would ask why he’d committed such a sin.
Tumblr media
❛❛ To put it simply —– greed. I took what I had for granted and reached for more than I deserved. I was foolish enough to believe that I was more powerful than my lord. I thought that, with a borrowed army, I could become king and take everything away from him. But in the end, I was the one who lost everything. Lord Nobunaga has hardly even glanced in my direction since the day I betrayed him. ❜❜

He hasn’t been working as much as he did in Tokyo but without the hound that was Aresh Indrakk hounding him to rest he found himself slipping to his old ways. He did have less work but Seiichirou, as always was a master finding more.
“ It’s just my migraine.. “ Seiichirou however mutters. It was the reason he’d left work for today as well. He’s pressing his forehead, trying to prevent light from getting into his eye.
Tumblr media
“ I’ll be fine. “
❛❛ Is that so. ❜❜ Silence hung in the air. What was Katsuie supposed to do now ? If this man was dealing with a migraine, he didn’t want to bother him. But if he didn’t keep talking to him, he wouldn’t learn anything else about him, would he ? All of a sudden, he remembered the trip he’d made to a pharmacy that morning. Katsuie dug around in his pockets and pulled out a small plastic bottle.
Tumblr media
❛❛ Well...I happen to have medicine for pain relief with me right now. Supposedly it is also useful for treating migraines. Would you like a couple pills ? ❜❜

❝HALLOWEEN. IT’S A HOLIDAY ALL ABOUT giving a good scare, honouring the dead, and getting a good harvest.❞ he shrugs. the holiday itself does not exist in gaia, but there was, at least, a close proximation to such. hand nestling into his hip, as he shrugs. ❝seems like archimedes is more CONCERNED with the ‘death’ stuff.❞
the locals usually seem to be. he’s only visited the marbled cliffs that plunge for miles on only the RAREST of occasions, but those times were enough to glean information about the supposed spirit activity in the area. ask him ten years ago and he’d deny any BELIEF in the sort, but barret has witnessed enough spectral activity during his last few days in midgar ALONE to question his own life.
❝i dunno about the pumpkins … i think they’re SUPPOSED to be scary, but they honestly just look SILLY to me.❞
❛❛ I am not sure what a good harvest would have to do with those other two things, but...I believe I understand. On a basic level. ❜❜ By honoring the dead, did that mean visiting the gravestones of the departed ? That was quite a solemn activity, compared to making decorations for fun. Although, if the locals in Archimedes placed an emphasis on death, maybe that explained it ? Having a fun activity alongside a serious duty could make that duty easier to stomach.
Tumblr media
❛❛ I must concur. There is nothing about a pumpkin on its own that would make it frightening. However, if a spirit were to possess the pumpkin... ❜❜ That would be a lot more interesting ! Katsuie could picture the pumpkin floating in the air and glowing like a will-o’-the-wisp. A high-pitched voice could come out of it, or it could smash itself into the walls of someone’s house. Those sorts of actions would give a true fright to any passers-by.

“That is true.” Trying not to shy herself out, the home is hers asides from being in even share for her fellow housemates. Oichi is the quiet one among them, after all. Knowing that Katsuie always wanted to be with her, this could be good practice to interact with other people than not to.
Tumblr media
“Ichi will try. It’s nice to have others to talk than Lord Nagamasa, after all..” Socializing can be difficult for her but she’s willing to do so if wanting to have friends to accompany her in the future.
“It surely is. From foot to Ichi’s place to yours may take longer to reach there. Maybe if they have horses or anything to head there, it could work.” Distance can be a pain in the head, just like the castles were far apart to their world. Something that came in her mind and she just can’t simply calling him ‘you’. Maybe she’d wanted to know his name, even if she never remember his first name than Shibata. “This could be strange but, may i call you from your first name, if you don’t mind?” Calling people from their first names is also a step to socialize.
❛❛ Good. I am sure you will benefit from having people other than Lord Azai to speak with. ❜❜ Despite his words, however, Katsuie was conflicted about Lady Oichi making new friends. Of course, he supported anything that helped distance Lady Oichi from Lord Azai. It wasn’t fair that an arranged marriage had taken away Katsuie’s chance to be with her. But what if one of Lady Oichi’s new friends happened to be male ? What if she chose him over either Katsuie or Lord Azai ? Katsuie couldn’t stand the idea of that happening. He’d have to keep an eye on any friends Lady Oichi made, especially if they weren’t other women.
❛❛ Indeed. Although —– I cannot say that I have seen any horses since arriving here... ❜❜ How did people traverse this city, anyways ? There were so many buildings and roads even in a single ward. Katsuie would have to investigate how he could travel around Spirale later.
❛❛ My first name ? ❜❜ Katsuie could feel his face heating up. Just as he’d managed to calm down, Lady Oichi’s words were making his head spin again ! Having her call him by his first name felt so intimate. Not that it was a bad thing ——– Katsuie was glad to have made so much progress in their first conversation.
Tumblr media
❛❛ Yes —– yes, that would be alright. You can call me Katsuie. ❜❜ It was more than alright ——– it felt amazing ! Lady Oichi was finally going to call Katsuie by his first name ! But if he stated as much to her, he was afraid his heart would burst.

dimittere:
listen, he does, in a tense, hard silence that one could cut with the sharp EDGE of a knife. the taste in the back of his throat is bile as he listens, but for all his wickedness, age has taught him not to be foolish, and this strange and WRETCHED island has taught him that there’s gods everywhere you look. this is not, in fact, my homeland. the response is enough for him not to raise his sword, though he’d not sheathe it either. to his credit, ganondorf does not take JOY in his accusatory stance. wouldn’t most of the men standing his opposite do the same if their positions were reversed? this land reeked of an UNCERTAINTY that he’d have to adapt to quickly.
❝i see. then there is no need to NECESSARILY consider you my enemy. at times like this, would you not consider the stars to be the GREATEST threat?❞ a challenge, he supposes, or a test. the stranger seems to play his part well, as a participant of this memory. be it necessity or greed, he cannot not tell at a GLANCE.
❝although, your men seem to think OTHERWISE.❞ a fool he is not. the glances shifting in his direction have not gone amiss. while he certainly could not blame hostility, to have it continue would not be tolerated. eyes wander over, away from the only man with half a brain among their number to the soldiers lined up behind him. each and every one passed over with dark, EVIL eyes. ❝i do pray this is not the best that this ‘oda’ has at his disposal if you are to return to radiale SAFELY.❞ arms cross over his chest. ❝shall you call them to lay down arms so we may discuss RETURNING … home … in peace?❞
❛❛ The Stars, huh...I suppose you could say that. ❜❜ Katsuie was still getting used to that name and separating it from the stars he saw in the sky. He’d heard a few hushed whispers about the group that supposedly had some control over the island. Katsuie wasn’t sure whether he believed in their existence, though. Wasn’t it too simple for all the island’s strange events to be coordinated by one group of people ? They almost sounded like the villains in a children’s story.
However, Katsuie wasn’t about to start an argument with an intimidating armed man. For now, he’d acknowledge the existence of the Stars, in order to act agreeable. Although...was it fine to call them a threat ? If the Stars did exist and were as powerful as they were said to be, Katsuie doubted they’d take kindly to that phrasing. Oh well ——– if he only vaguely agreed with this man, Katsuie still had a chance to avoid the brunt of the Stars’ wrath.
❛❛ Your assessment is correct. This is only a vanguard ——– these soldiers will be the first to head into battle if called upon to do so. ❜❜ In other words,  these men were cannon fodder. Lord Nobunaga kept his most valuable warriors in units far behind the vanguard. It was a miracle —– or sheer misfortune —– that Katsuie hadn’t died yet, as the vanguard’s leader.
❛❛ Understood. I shall attempt to order them to lay down arms. ❜❜ ‘Attempt’ being the key word. Despite being the vanguard’s leader, Katsuie was neither liked nor respected. Back at home, they ignored him so often that he hardly ever attempted to command them anymore. Katsuie turned to face his men.
Tumblr media
❛❛ Stand down. This man is an ally of Lord Nobunaga. ❜❜ It was a lie, but Katsuie considered it a necessary one to calm his men. The soldiers may not have wanted to listen to Katsuie, but none of them would dare cross Lord Nobunaga. As much as the man radiated danger, he sure might have seemed like Lord Nobunaga’s ally, too. Much to Katsuie’s relief, his men started backing off and laying down their weapons.

Mist, swirling around this city. It was kind of strange, wasn’t it? In the time Hifumi had found himself here, he had yet to see something like this. But then again…it always seemed like strange and new things were happening here.
You got used to it.
But strange also meant exciting! …sometimes. So far it did; he knew some of the things that had happened were dangerous, but he had yet to find himself injured. Other people…didn’t get the same luxury it seemed.
Jacket draped over his shoulders, and microphone in hand, he had set off into the mists to explore only to find himself faced with someone crumpled over on the ground, breathing unsteadily. That was never a good sign…
Tumblr media
“…hey! Are you okay?” The blond exclaimed as he hurried over to the other person. They were…dressed like a samurai, which was pretty cool, but he could definitely ask about that later. Bad time to bring it up, bow.
“Did you get hurt at all?”
Katsuie gazed up at the stranger who’d called out to him. He stayed quiet for several seconds, unsure of how to respond. Judging by the other man’s concern, he must not have seen what had happened to him. And for that, Katsuie was grateful. Having an audience to his downfall would’ve been humiliating. Moreover, the stranger probably wouldn’t want to help him if he learned that he was a traitor.
Tumblr media
❛❛ My physical condition is stable. However...there is nothing that can be done about the pain in my heart. ❜❜ Katsuie curled a fist in front of the center of his chest. He couldn’t go back to the past and undo his mistakes, so his shame would never subside. He almost envied the stranger in front of him ——– there was no way he carried a burden as heavy as Katsuie’s. Although...what was this random villager doing so close to the Demon King’s throne ? Glancing around, Katsuie realized he was no longer in the Oda clan’s territory.
❛❛ By the way —– where are we located ? I thought I had returned to my homeland, but... ❜❜

castilium:
Oichi… then that solved his identity. Her sights rested upon his hands, the question of just how deathly pale they had become as they wrestled with the revelation he’d witnessed crossed her mind. The decline of any confidence from the Fairy Queen’s castle needed no hypothesizing — if he’d seen himself murder the love of his life in what could be the future in his world; anyone  in his position would be rattled. “Love can be complicated. There’s still a lot about it I have yet to learn, but it takes on all forms. Sometimes, it is like a wild fire that destroys everything in its path. But that wasn’t the case for you, was it?“ Judged by his words, it wasn’t a case that his vision and the history she knew aligned; there must have been a reason behind his actions. With how torn up he was in front of her at the mere prospect, it defied all reason that there was no explanation.
“Are you able to describe the circumstances. Was it a move that was made in the heat of the moment when you’d lost control of yourself? It wasn’t by her choice that you struck her?” The lump in her throat slid down, forced by conscious effort to push it back. “I’m sorry, if it’s too much, then there’s no need to push yourself to answer. This is a traumatizing sight, and you might prefer to try and bury it altogether. There’s no guarantee that’s what waits for you on the other side of your time here. In this state, it doesn’t seem feasible that you could turn your sword on her”.
When his head rose to cast his sights upon her, she avoided the eyes that snuck out from the shadows, guilt swirling in the pit of her stomach threatened to seize her heart and squeeze until it was crushed if she did. “You could say that. To be honest, it’s actually much worse. There are countless lives I’ve taken. Many were monsters that threatened peace of lands and their people. But not all of them.
Tumblr media
There were entire worlds that disappeared because I helped fight against them. It was for the sake of preserving our own, but that’s… no comfort to the people who had just as much right to live in those dead-ends. There were young girls we befriended, whose very existences we denied in the end by wiping out their worlds”. The glint in Koyanskaya’s eyes bore through her from the past, some days or weeks. “Maybe even a serial killer would be disgusted with what we’ve done. What’s still happening. There are more lives that we’ll take, no matter how much we don’t want to. Maybe trying to justify it as something we’re hesitant to do is just a greater insult to their deaths”.
Katsuie shook his head at the young woman’s question about his love. Sure, his feelings for Lady Oichi were all-consuming, but they would never hurt her. All he wanted to do was love her and treat her like the goddess she was. To him, that meant one day marrying her —– or failing that, eloping with her. Katsuie could picture the two of them raising a family and growing old together. He only wanted the best for her, so why had he watched himself kill her ?
❛❛ Well... ❜❜ Katsuie’s voice trembled, forcing him to pause. It was painful enough to remember what he’d seen, let alone consider all the ways he could’ve hurt Lady Oichi. Even still, he found himself shaking his head at the stranger’s apology. No ——– he needed to think through why he’d seen himself murder the woman he loved. If he could figure out why he’d done it, then he could prevent it.
Tumblr media
❛❛ The look in my eyes was so cold. I swung down my naginata, cutting into her body as I would with any other enemy. Because of that, I...think I must have planned to do it, to some extent. But that is what I fail to understand. Even at my worst, I would never raise a hand against Lady Oichi, no matter how impassioned I was. So...why ? Why would I have plotted to murder her ? Why was there nothing inside me that stopped me from carrying out such an action ? ❜❜ That was the part Katsuie couldn’t understand. What motivation would Katsuie have had within himself to kill the love of his life ? None. Could someone have forced him into it ? He doubted it. The most probable source of pressure would be Lord Nobunaga, but even he seemed unlikely. As little as he thought of Lady Oichi, she’d hadn’t committed any major mistakes. Therefore, what reason would Lord Nobunaga have to kill his own sister ? Also, as much as he feared his lord, Katsuie knew he couldn’t carry out an order from Lord Nobunaga to kill Lady Oichi. She was worth more to Katsuie than his own life.
The young woman’s confession startled Katsuie. Wiping away tears, he glanced up at her with wide eyes. Killing multiple worlds full of people...was that even possible ? Even Lord Nobunaga hadn’t been able to do such a thing, despite his lack of conscience and lust for destruction. How was Katsuie supposed to believe that this guilt-ridden stranger had done such a thing ?
❛❛ I am...not quite sure I understand the breadth or the weight of your supposed crimes. I cannot imagine fighting against a whole world or exterminating all of its people. However...your understanding of the sinfulness of your actions should mean something. There are people —– ’people’ in the loosest sense of the term —– who never feel that they have committed wrongs. Who do not care about the consequences of their actions. Who cannot be bothered to consider what others might think of them. And, at the very least...you do not strike me as such a ‘person’. ❜❜

Only one thing for sure is Nobunaga isn’t treating Oichi like a sister but than a tool of war, just to be sent to do his bidding and die in his bidding like others were disposable. From Nagashino to this, all she just want is to stop hurting people. Attack and attack till they die, maybe conquest only matters that she had to do all of those so she can have her peace.
Nouhime and Ranmaru, along with Katsuie’s help had cleared off their surroundings as Oichi used her dark hands to silence those cheering for Itsuki for morale and by ‘silence’ means death as they were sucked through the shadowy darkness. If she’s not doing hard enough, Nagamasa would abandon her as she was afraid of that will happen.
“Their leader surely love to throw snow boulders at us isn’t it?” Ranmaru was getting irritated to this kind of gimmick which was similar to his ordeal with Oichi. “Dodge the snow if we want to succeed this safely!” Now the archer giving a simple advice order as he goes first. The pattern seemed predictable as it goes left-center-right-left-right-center and repeat.
Tumblr media
“O’ falling snow, please cover everything with your white mantle!” From the notice of her erratic behavior gets even worse until it eats her over. Ranmaru was the first one noticing it while she was advancing, hoping not to get hit by one of those falling snow boulders. “Ichi had to work harder. Ichi is afraid to be abandoned by Lord Nagamasa!” She only wished that he was here when times like this as she was doing her best to dodge every falling boulder.
They are getting closer and closer to Itsuki herself.
❛❛ Understood. ❜❜ Katsuie was surprised that their enemies could still heave giant snowballs at them. How long had this blizzard been raging, to have deposited this much snow ? Lord Nobunaga must not have considered these peasants to be a serious threat. Why else would he have sent only Nouhime, Ranmaru, and Oichi into such horrible weather ? Following Ranmaru’s advice, Katsuie dodged the oncoming snow boulders.

❛❛ Lady Nouhime...is it alright to let Lady Oichi continue fighting by herself ? ❜❜ Katsuie couldn’t help but sneak glances at Lady Oichi. Her words, as beautiful and poetic as they were, had almost nothing to do with their current situation. Surely she wasn’t wishing to bury their entire party in snow, was she ? Was the stress of fighting in this harsh environment weighing on her that much ? As much as he wished for her to retreat from this battle, though, he wasn’t the one in charge. That would’ve been Lady Nouhime. However, neither she nor Ranmaru seemed to be paying much attention to Lady Oichi. All Katsuie could do was remind Lady Nouhime of Lady Oichi and hope that she would look after her.
Katsuie grit his teeth as Lady Oichi called out for Lord Azai again. Why did that man still have such a hold over her, despite his absence ? If he was the sort of person who’d abandon Lady Oichi over this battle, he didn’t deserve her. Why had he even allowed her into this battle, anyways ? Lady Oichi would’ve been much happier relaxing at home. Why would Lord Azai let her work herself to the bone in the freezing cold ? But most of all —– why couldn’t Katsuie get Lady Oichi to notice him ? Why couldn’t she see that he was here, ready to support her and care for her ? She didn’t need Lord Azai. Katsuie could do anything he could do, and he was willing to go farther for her than Lord Azai would, too.
