Boreal Vibrance CRIMSON
I'm back again with the third part of the Boreal Vibrance eye set, this time with some vampire defaults and addons!
These eyes are as always painted in the same style as the Evergreen eyes, but with some of their own style here and there. They come in a total of 8 unique variants.

Hey, look who's back from the dead and finally releasing the next part of this eye default set! 😂
I've been working on this and the vampire eyes on and off now, the emission maps aka glowyness has given me so much grief (and i'm still fighting with the vampire eyes, though they are nearing the finish line too). I expect that once I've gotten these two sets out of the way the progress on the rest will be a whole lot faster and smoother.
Anyway, here's the default eyes for the werewolves! There's a few different variants, plus three bonus "human-form" eyes I threw in. I generally like to stay somewhat true to the original maxis eyes and for example I opted to change the "furry"-esque eyes into more dog-like eyes that're still pretty cute but in a more animalistic and canine way. The rest are more wild and wolf-like, with one more magical/mystical variation and also a few fox eyes thrown in there for some fun extra options.

Boreal Vibrance EVERGREEN
Long time no see! I've had a long paus from sims and social media especially but the announcement of the Horse Ranch ep has revitilized my motivation to play the game (my little horse girl heart is literally so friggin excited lmao).
But anyway, I haven't been entirely unproductive (as far as sims goes) this year though. In fact I mayy have started messing around with making some custom default eyes of my own, and it mayy just be that the first part (containing the regular human eyes) have JUST been approved on curseforge and is available for download 👀

It's something I've considered and I probably will later. The only thing is that the way my psd workfiles are set up is... uh, slightly messy and probably a bit unorthodox so I'm gonna need to set up a seperate cleaner psd for sharing 😂

Reins Update: So, do you want the good news or the bad news?
sorry in advance if this reads like a wet newspaper there's a lot and i'm a lover not a writer
Alright nerds, here's my most recent update in the Battle of the Reins:
Good news! Apart from fixing some weights where the reins meet the bridle (still figuring that out but that's just a skill issue on my end), its super easy to attach reins to your bridle mesh! Take a look at this bad boy:

(also also, look at the sheepskin pad LOOK AT IT get yours from SweetPea HERE)
Even better news: with this method, the reins now share the bridle section of the UV map, so even in this case where I just slapped them into @studiosweetpeacc 's bridle cc, apart from moving the reins map onto the bridle, I didn't have to do anything extra in regards to swatches! yay!
(basically the reins r now a part of the bridle mesh but you have to copy the rein weights from the reins CAS item *the horse ranch version, not the one w the base game symbol*. I've also made the default reins invisible so they're still technically there. That's to stop them from clipping with the new, better, cooler reins.) Great stuff we're all delighted! Good reins are on the way for us all!
Except, here's the bad news:

Since the reins aren't supposed to be applied, this is what they look like by default.
There's only one proper fix for this as far as I can see. In order to sort this teeny tiny issue out, I'll have to basically edit every single animation clip that the horse uses where the reins sit like this by default. Basically every unmounted clip.
The package of those files alone, unedited, is about 26MB and some bits.
That's like...a lot.
I think.
My potential compromise is this. I'd edit the CAS poses so the reins don't look janky while you make your horse. I'd also edit the pose the horse uses between shaking on the tack and entering the mount animation (that's the pose you see here),as well as the pose they enter between dismounting and shaking off the tack. There's also the 'being thrown off' pose you might have seen in my previous post, I think those are the ones we'd see most often that require fixing.
The reins will still hang like this for basically every other thing the horse does while tacked up (but not being ridden), but it means a much smaller file.
Also, bridles with no reins attached will still work for those people who take stud/confirmation pics of their horses, so no worries about them getting in the way.
(small caveat to this: because the default reins r hidden, they won't pop up when the sim mounts the horse unless you change the bridle to one with reins attached)

I think that concludes my report. I had no idea it would be this complicated (and to be fair it might not be but this is very new to me so I got lost quite a bit), but I hope that this helps with getting some nice tack!
**Stirrups update: I have ideas, I'll have to test them. Stay tuned.**

Horsie eyes anyone?
I started sketching some base textures and variant ideas in photoshop for the Horse Ranch animals to fit my Boreal Vibrance defaults set yesterday. Might be awhile before they're done though :p
I've come up with four texture variants for the horses. The top left one would be the one I'll use for the actual default replacements, and the top right "appaloosa" variant as well as the "wilder"-looking bottom left one will be non-defaults in the same swatches as the defaults.
I also whipped up a quick and very silly sparkly fantasy variant, a bit for funsies, but I think it could be great for making unicorns. I'm thinking I'll do 5 or so swatches in some more unnatural and vivid colors to fit the magical vibe.
Also working on replacement eye textures for the sheeps and goats! For these I'm staying a little true to the vibe of the ea ones with rounder bigger pupils for the sheep and thinner undilated ones for goats, but still with horizontal pupils for both and in my style of course.

Horsie eyes anyone?

I made another mod too; self-preservation for the poor vampires!
This one has actually been up on curseforge for a little while now, I just kinda forgot about posting about it lol.

What this mod does is to fix the issue of vampires not doing anything to save themselves when they're burning in the sun. It turned out that the tunings for the vampires didn't have any coded responses to the sun buffs or timer beyond playing some annoyed idles.
So, I managed to copy the "run inside" interaction from Seasons that sims do when it thunders or rains and edited it and made it get pushed on vampire sims being burned by the sun.
I've even added some little reaction animations and buffs before, during and after for a little extra flavor, and these will differ depending on how badly burnt/close to death the vampire is, as well as on if they have any of the sun-related perks or weaknesses. For example, a vampire who's weak to the sun, or who got a bit too close to death, might hiss a little extra and get a little panicked while running, while one who's got some sun protection might only get annoyed.
In addition, if the interaction gets cancelled, the vampire sim will keep trying to run inside periodically if they're still burning. Vampires with the full sun protection perk or in the shade (such as holding an umbrella) will not run inside. If the vampire has any of the teleport powers, and has this enabled, they'll use that instead of running.
If Seasons is installed, they'll also hold their arms above their head while running (using the same animation as the original "run inside" animation). If you don't have seasons, they'll run normally.

A little update
Hello simblr! I’m really really sorry for disappearing for so long! Unfortunately I’m still struggling a lot with mental health and fatigue and I just haven’t had the energy or motivation to even think about this tumblr or the ND mod. I also lost interest for the sims for awhile and have been focusing on other games and things.
I did recently try to pick up the ND mod again after taking a long paus from it. I’ve ended up remaking the mod from scratch, because the existing mod wip had simply gotten too messy and there was a lot of things I wasn’t satisfied with. It’s allowed me to upgrade fully to using the newest mod constructor as well as restructure the mod in a better way.
It’s also allowed me to reel in the scope and ambition of the mod a bit, at least for a first version. My energy etc is still limited and right now I’ve only been working on the mod a few minutes or an hour or so every now and then, and to make the mod managable (and to make finishing it more attainable) I’m only focusing right now on getting the basic functionality of each feature and trait in place, and not spending so much time on the extra details and flavor (like moodlets and special socials).
One thing I have been considering is releasing alpha test versions of the mod once the mod is a little further along, if anyone would be interested in that ^n^
