Midwest Fur Fest 2023 - The Squad

THE SQUAAAAAAD! Duggerless had asked if I would be willing to do a redraw of a restaurant photo they taken during Midwest Furfest '23. I was delighted to take on the challenge, and the mad lad filled out a comm form and pretty much said "aight bet." Big thanks to Lone Ranger for introducing me to everyone at MFF and setting this domino effect in motion. Additional thanks goes out to Shaky Gryphon for giving me pointers on their character's head shape (birds are hard, and I like a challenge). This is the biggest commission I've ever done in my life, and it took me roughly 3 months from start to finish. What a fantastic test! I'm kinda itching to do more still-life props now. Yamaha YZF R3

Some days, you just need to drop everything and go ride for a few hours to clear your mind. I wanted a motorcycle since I was first loaned my cousin's pocket bike when I was 10, or 11. Memory is a bit fuzzy, though part of that is probably because I ran into a tree with it. lmao. It wasn't until I was 25 that I FINALLY was in a position where I could pull the trigger. I'm gonna be 29 here in 2 weeks, and this is still one of the best gifts I've ever purchased for myself. Part toy, part meditation chamber on two wheels. I love this thing! I just wish I wasn't so damn short >:V No seriously, this is the smallest supersport in Yamaha's lineup in both size, displacement, brakes, tires, and number of features, but I'm still too short for this thing and have to tiptoe it! It has been dropped 5 times because of this. Once it wants to go over, it's going over. It's got momentum going by the time I can get a foot planted. Regardless, I have no plans to trade in currently.  Also her name is Quill, and her plate says CAAAW Also also, yes, Rek is missing his red hair. Half the time I go our for a ride and forget to pull my pony tail out of my jacket since it's pressed in by my balaclava, so as far as I'm concerned this is accurate to real life. You ever look at someone's profile picture and see something that isn't there at all? Yeah that's what happened here. Keara, my friend who I drew the bunny ref sheet for the other day, had their profile picture on Discord set to a photo of them in VR chat in a cozy living room with a computer in the background. I saw something... way different. So I drew what I saw. lol Her profile picture from the time is in the top left corner of the image. Everything else is the result of my eyes not working right, and my brain filling in the blanks. I only get more powerful the older I get. Done in Clip Studio Paint EX

I needed a company logo, and the premise of "use your face" kept crawling back up into the forefront of my mind. After thirty two different iterations during sketching, I finally settled on this one with the input and help from my best friend Digit2049. He told me "try keeping the three-quarters angle, but black it out and keep the red hair. That red is sorta your calling card" and that worked well. That worked VERY well. Unless I have a 2 am epiphany sometime soon and come up with something better, THIS is going to be the face of my brand going forward. I'm BEYOND happy with this result Done in Clip Studio Paint EX
