I'm reading Orwell 1984 now and I got a question:
Is it bad that I started shipping Winston and O'Brien the mere seconds Smith started describing him to us and said that they're eyes have met ? 🥺
Pls I need to know if something's wrong with me and if the power of gayness and dirty shipping have completed corrupted me.
+ Is it weird I really enjoy (by far at least) Syme as a character? He's fairly interesting and tbh I genuinely started pitying him, when Winston was thinking that he could be unpersoned 'couse he's to smart for the Party's liking. Even though he is completely devoured to B.B.
And by the way I hope there will be everything okay with Mrs Parsons 🙏🏾, her children are horrible ☠️

can you believe that we have fanfiction. that we have websites dedicated to fanfiction. that there is a place that you can go and read tens, hundreds, thousands and thousands of pieces of writing that strangers have made. people who are not "writers". people who come home at the end of the day and have feelings and say, i am going to put that into words. i am going to share those words. short, long, sweet, sad, horny, funny, wonderful words. we are all just human and we all love to make and remake and share that with others. can you believe that.

I do not care for the age gap discourse. If the characters are both considered adults (lets say both having their warrior names) when they enter the relationship, it needs to be laid to rest. I'll admit there are some gray areas in the books, and of course I don't condone the relationships presented as toxic by the texts (age gap or not), but let's be honest - The Erins don't keep track of the ages. How many timeline debates do we need to have, how many times do we gotta count how many moons pass in one book, much less the entire series? The Erins gave us the parameters (apps are teenagers, etc), but they don't care that Blossomfall and Thornclaw are separated by a few years, they were both warriors when they got together.
I think most ships people label as problematic for the age gap are either unimportant background ships or they just want another reason to dislike it. Some ships have reason for dislike, but age gap should only be brought up in a situation like Spottedleaf and Thistleclaw, where it was HIGHLY innopropriate and initiated when one was not an adult.

Ngl but I am honestly kind of uncomfortable by the amount "XYZ should die" or "[Insert character here] should of killed/ should kill XYZ". Now I am obviously not talking about cats like Thristleclaw, but more like terrible but still cats underseving of death like Appledusk. Maybe I'm a big baby but its Weird

Unless it's something like abusing a real person, (no, problematic art or writing doesn't count, because there are fifty different definitions of problematic and some of them include Firesand so I don't really trust the fandom to not suicide bait a minor), we shouldn't be publicly shaming people. As a fandom we are far too toxic and discourse happy to be able to do that with any confidence.
putting this here beforehand just in case:
tw - brief grooming + zoophilia mention (i don't go into details, don't worry)
anon, i understand the vague idea of what you are trying to say but this mindset is incredibly harmful. children (and the book series *is* aimed at children so they make up a large portion of the fandom) should not be exposed to things like nsfw art/fan content.
if someone is out there making weird nsfw/incest/harmful content, you shouldn't just ignore it. it isn't toxic to call out people like that, it's a responsible thing to do. the idea that all content is ok unless it's hurting someone irl is insane.
"problematic" art and writing *can* be used as a tool to harm people too. groomers frequently use things like that to coax their victims into thinking that sort of thing is normal. this fandom is full of zoophiles and groomers, we don't need to make this easier for them by just... letting these things slide.
like i said, i understand what you are trying to say about toxic behaviour in the fandom, but calling out creeps and weirdos is, in fact, not toxic.

I want to preface this confession by saying very big age gaps are a major squick for me in shipping, but I *still* think the Warriors fandom can be a bit. Weird about them?
Like. I see so many things of ppl being like "UGH, [insert ship] is SO problematic bcus it has an ENORMOUS age gap and [older cat in relationship] is a TOTAL CREEP even if they pursued [younger cat in relationship] as an adult!!!"
And then I'm like "Wow rly? Sounds terrible! Just how big is this age gap?"
So I look it up. And then it's like. Twelve moons.
You folks realize that's... twelve *moons*, not years, right? This is a one year age gap, not twelve. A one year age gap is *nothing*
One could argue that it is a big age gap, or should be considered one (bcus the canon series doesn't care about age gaps at all lol) by the standards of Warriors society, bcus the commonly accepted average age of becoming a warrior is 12 moons, meaning that the younger cat would be born by the time the older cat would be considered an adult
Which, yeah, does sound a bit weird when you put it into that light. But if that's enough to consider the ship "problematic," you have an extremely limited pool of "good" ships, so limited to the point where it rly wouldn't make sense for the long run of the series
You're telling me that cats' only eligible partners are ones who are born within, like, less than six moons of them, if they wanna consistently stay in the same life stage? What are the odds of a good match happening within that pool? What if the uncommon situation of a cat being the only one in that age range occurs (ex: Birchpaw (Birchfall) in The New Prophecy), are they just supposed to never get a mate no matter how badly they may want to (if they don't want a mate, awesome, and a convenient coincidence, but if they do)? What if all the cats in that range just so happen to be somehow related?
The warrior cats, despite how anthropormorphized they are, still aren't humans, and mature at a different rate than humans, so one being an adult at the same time as one being a young child and then pursuing each other later in life, a year between them (WHEN THEY'RE BOTH CONSENTING ADULTS!!!), has a way different connotation than it does for humans, who would have to have an age gap of over eighteen years (in the US for me, age of consent may be different elsewhere) in order for that to be the case
I get being grossed out by age gaps, I am too, but I genuinely don't feel like an age gap of one year or so is anything to freak out over the way so many ppl do. If that's your limit then there's hardly a ship that's not "creepy" in terms of age gaps. If you're fine with that, whatever, but you might be surprised by what ships you may like that have an age gap of that size
For me, personally, an age gap bigger than roughly three years is when I start feeling squicked (in Warriors shipping specifically), but it varies from ship to ship, and ymmv of course (and of course this only applies if they pursued each other when they were both adults)
But point being I think the Warriors fandom should rethink what's considered a "big" age gap bcus no small amount of the ones I see accused of being that aren't that at all, not by my personal standards at least

For the whole debate between Crowfeather and Nightcloud, I pick neither side because they’re both are’t great cats and were both stuck in a relationship that they aren’t happy in. Yeah, and they were crappy parents. either but they both still genuinely did love him. Breezepelt was s product of being in a dysfunctional family and getting caught in a heavy crossfire of their and all the drama, and believed that his father hated him. There was so much drama going on and they both have their own personal issues.
I’m not excusing their actions but analyzing Crowfeather’s Family in general. And I’m sick of hearing the debates of Crowfeather’s vs. Nightcloud, they’re not evil but flawed and difficult individuals who are both at fault.

if there was a warrior cats custody battle and you could only claim one singular cat from the series, who would you be fighting tooth and nail for?
reincarnated cats are treated as separate entities, so someone could claim cinderheart and another person could claim cinderpelt
faded/permadead cats count for this, so you could claim spottedleaf if you're brave enough
cats and creatures outside of the clans count too, so go claim midnight and rock before it's too late
no co-owning cats/visitation rights/whatever other rule-bending you're thinking of. you either get them or die trying like a real fan

Why do people get so grossed/freaked out over age gaps? I knlw they're fictional cats but BrambleSquirrel are barely 2 years apart in age and she confessed to him first. That's no different from say a 20 year old confessing their love to an almost 22 year old person. I can see people rightfully freaking out over Thistleclaw and Spottedpaw/leaf because that's a full grown adult hitting on a teenager. I'm just overall so confused why people act like small age gaps are a huge thing in warrior cats
