Charlotte hated these days, the ones when she couldn’t help but shut herself in her room and cry. The girl hardly knew why it happened. She had friends who simply used her, she had a place to stay full of people who probably saw her as a nuisance, a pet who probably only kept her company for the food… she had no right to be sad.

Yet here she was.

Some part of her wished this was just some other side effect from hosting the Oracle. Maybe then she could pretend it would pass over some time… Charlotte knew that wasn’t the case, however… Maybe Felix or Huxley could explain why she was this way… but that had to be the worst idea possible. Every resident in this house has gone through so much more than her. Making a big deal about her emotions was greedy and selfish. They would probably get offended or something. it was best for her to keep this to hers-

Charlotte’s eyes quickly darted over to her door. Someone opened it. Why? Surely everyone was busy with work. No one had time to-

“ Fe…lix?… ”

No. This wasn’t good. Her face was still wet with tears. He couldn’t see her like this. She was supposed to be the happy one. She couldn’t just cry. She couldn’t.

It wasn’t allowed.

Her tears were wiped away as quick as she could manage and she put on a weak smile, the only thing she could manage.

“ A-are you done with work? Ah… um… sorry, my room’s a little messy. Just. Could you give me a moment? I’ll just tidy up ”
