Ukadoc has been translated into English!

Ukadoc, the official documentation for SSP, has an English translation now!

For those that don't know, Ukadoc not only includes information about all the various SHIORI Events and SakuraScript tags you can use in ghosts, but also information on how to set up files like install.txt and descript.txt, information on how the overall file structure of ghosts/balloons/ etc. should be set up, guides to setting up shells, nar files, network updates, and more! There is a ton of information contained in this document, and it is an invaluable resource for developers.

And as of this month, it's available in English! No more fussing with machine translation and struggling to parse the multitude of run-on sentences and mangled terms. Our translation is readable without the extra steps, and you can view it here.

The translation isn't perfect, about half of it was done with machine translation and a lot of tenacity. If you find a wrong translation or something confusing, please report it or submit a fix on the project's repository.

Been getting back to making digital art. Though, trying to get back my vibe has been rough. So I decided to do my Baneful, Wayward Souls Naofumi and Warden Ingo to try and get a feel of my process. So far, haven't got there yet, but I feel my drawing skills have improved at least.

Something like this would be so colossally helpful. I'm sick and tired of trying to research specific clothing from any given culture and being met with either racist stereotypical costumes worn by yt people or ai generated garbage nonsense, and trying to be hyper specific with searches yields fuck all. Like I generally just cannot trust the legitimacy of most search results at this point. It's extremely frustrating. If there are good resources for this then they're buried deep under all the other bullshit, and idk where to start looking.

Ok. This is cool.

A new tool lets artists add invisible changes to the pixels in their art before they upload it online so that if it’s scraped into an AI training set, it can cause the resulting model to break in chaotic and unpredictable ways. 

The tool, called Nightshade, is intended as a way to fight back against AI companies that use artists’ work to train their models without the creator’s permission. Using it to “poison” this training data could damage future iterations of image-generating AI models, such as DALL-E, Midjourney, and Stable Diffusion, by rendering some of their outputs useless—dogs become cats, cars become cows, and so forth. MIT Technology Review got an exclusive preview of the research, which has been submitted for peer review at computer security conference Usenix.   

AI companies such as OpenAI, Meta, Google, and Stability AI are facing a slew of lawsuits from artists who claim that their copyrighted material and personal information was scraped without consent or compensation. Ben Zhao, a professor at the University of Chicago, who led the team that created Nightshade, says the hope is that it will help tip the power balance back from AI companies towards artists, by creating a powerful deterrent against disrespecting artists’ copyright and intellectual property. Meta, Google, Stability AI, and OpenAI did not respond to MIT Technology Review’s request for comment on how they might respond. 

Zhao’s team also developed Glaze, a tool that allows artists to “mask” their own personal style to prevent it from being scraped by AI companies. It works in a similar way to Nightshade: by changing the pixels of images in subtle ways that are invisible to the human eye but manipulate machine-learning models to interpret the image as something different from what it actually shows.

Was thinking of rewriting my story, but after a bit of stewing, I decided to continue it instead of redo the whole story. I did go through and edited past chapters to make them cleaner and easier to read, but now to better plan out my future tracks for Baneful, Wayward Souls as about to have a lot of fun with worldbuilding and such. Especially with exploring the world of Pokemon much deeper with Ingo amd Naofumi along with the consequences of the time space issues going on.

Fanfic Recs! pt. 1

Hello hello! For yall that don't know me, I'm Billy or Sataara, either is fine, and I read a lot of submas fics so I decided to make a list of some recommendations that I have! A few things about me is that I can't deal with unhappy endings, heavy angst and/or any pairings where both brothers are with someone else (also no bl/nkship), so if you're looking for any of these types of fics, I'm sorry but you won't find it here :/

That aside, I'll make more than one post since this was getting kind of long, this first one are just multi-chapter fics! Most of these are either reunion fics or Ingo living after getting back from Hisui, with some exceptions! Gonna leave the actual description under the link with small personal notes on my opinion about them!

This fic got me hooked from start to finish, I was up until 5am at one point because I just couldn't put it down. Reunion with a lot of bumps in the road that only make the story more interesting and flashbacks that only add context making the fic more robust.

While it wouldn't be Truth or Ideals that would ultimately lead Giratina to regretting going along with Volo, it would learn the taste of regret and defeat all the same in many flavors. Stealing the partner of a fiery ghost is a lesson not learned yet, but it will be. Oh, it will be.

I kept reading each chapter as soon as I got the notification, I cried happy tears reading it.

It's by complete happenstance that Emmet stumbles upon his blog, having taken on cooking as a hobby during Ingo's absence.

I’ve been looking for this really helpful post about artist growth… where you get to these points where your skill doesn’t match your knowledge of what SHOULD look good, and then it flips… it looked like a double helix on the graph, if that helps. I am so rusty at drawing. But here is my Naofumi and Ingo for my Baneful, Wayward Souls AU. At least, starting in the story as I start the story a bit Pre-PLA and build up to the PLA storyline from where Ingo is still new to the clan and hasn't gotten much done yet. Naofumi has Zoroark like features that gives him a bit of a feral look, which clashes a bit with his clothes he tries to keep mended and repaired.

Naofumi has actually been in Hisui longer, but more in the wilderness after a... not so stellar first contact with the Pearl Clan. Ingo will later find this same incident is why the clan is so slow to trust him and why Naofumi has developed a huge distrust towards humans. However, due to an avalanche, the duo end up stuck nursing their wounds at Naofumi's shelter and they both come to the realization they actually know each other from before they lost their memories. Ingo tries to convince Naofumi to come back with him to the Pearl Clan, but Naofumi is having that... Til they find a child who was trying to reach the Pearl Clan and get caught in a time space distortion. The aftermath? All three now weild a strange weapon like Pokemon that appeared out of nowhere... And Ingo and Naofumi end up right in the middle of the Pearl and Diamond Clan's issues with the boy they saved from the distortion being the son of the Diamond Clan's leader... Said son, Adaman, snuck away from the settlement to go to the Pearl Clan to demand why no new Lady of the Ridge had appeared amongst the Petilil. Which, oddly enough, Ingo and Naofumi have the answer and try to use it to prevent another war between the two clans. However, trouble lurks in the shadows, some of which want both outsiders and even Adaman dead.

A basic summary of the story I am aiming to rewrite. Naofumi will be getting the Legendary Shield-which he dubbs Aegishield-but not is not the only special weapon to appear. Ingo being one such weirder, too.

Still working on the rewrite, but wanted to get the new summary down with finally getting some headway in where I want to go with the story.

Welp, I gotten dragged down deep the Submas Fandom rabbit hole due to PLA. I have been trying to write fics, but decided to redo the AU idea of my latest self-indulgent fic. It got me really wanting to better flesh my Submas AU I am dubbing Baneful, Wayward Souls AU. It's a crossover AU of Pokemon Legends Arceus and Rising of the Shield Hero. The fic with the same name was going okay... But after beginning in the elements of RotSH in last chapter and brewing on the story... I think I screwed up my story with how I went timeline wise with the events. Hence aiming to rewrite Baneful, Wayward Souls and decided I might do a master post to better sort though ideas and plans a little better than what I was doing.

Old Fic: Baneful, Wayward Souls

Till I get my AU a bit better cleaned up, I'll put the link to the old Baneful, Wayward Souls AU right above here for anyone wanted to get a better idea if where I am to take this short. Definately planning to remix the story greatly compared to what I have now. As well as might shrink the time frame between the start of the story to when PLA begins with exploring the mechanics of both worlds time space issues.

The basis of the story starts the same:

Ingo and Naofumi find themselves in a pickle when an accident exposed Naofumi to be a human instead of the Zoroark he passes off as. With coming back in contact with the Pearl Clan, both find their tracks inseparable as they come to realize... They both came from the same station and they both lost their memories the same way. However, when they come face to face with the time space distortions and clans: both find themselves with far more than they bargined for... Especially with their tracks clearly dyed red from past, present, and future events.

So, if anyone is interested in more, I don't mind answering questions. I am gonna work on a more indepth AU post once I get things a bit better fleshed out.

Now this is stuck in my head and must use in my fanfic as I could see Naofumi egging Ingo to name his Pokemon.

There are six Depot Agents in the Battle Subway - Cameron, Jackie, Cloud, Ramses, Isadore, and Furze. 

Ingo has six Pokemon, not including the Alphas or the Pokemon he uses during the Path of Solitude. 

I like to think that, without even realizing it, Ingo names his Pokemon after the Depot Agents.
