they are lifting her up from the ground, haven taken noticed that she had stumbled and obtain a new cut. they do not want to deal with her fear of becoming a victim like their parent, but they would have to be taken to get it disinfected. with a sigh, they lift the child up and begin to lead her into the hellsing manor. "no more playing today."

alucard was always just out of reach, even as she showed signs of growing taller and developing the muscles in her legs. they always seemed to be just a little faster than her. she might grasp their coattails or their pantleg, but it would soon be out of her grasp. oh, melody knows they would sometimes slow down just enough to let her catch them and hang onto their leg for a little while. she wasn't exactly the most graceful child, however, and often banged and scratched up her knees or the palms of her hands when she would fall. at first, when this pain was new and unfamiliar, she had cried, her sobs echoing down the long, empty halls. (somewhere in the back of the young girl's mind, she wondered, is this what my mom and dad felt that night?) being a clumsy child, though, she quickly got used to it, especially when alucard told her not to cry. oh, they were never mean about it (at least, not from her point of view).

when it first happened, alucard attempted to garner her attention, told her something along the lines of 'life is pain, you must get used to it', and carried her off to get her knees bandaged. the pain had faded, the wound taking a little more time to do the same. it wasn't quite so bad anymore.

this time is no different. she falls again and the initial impact has the little faerie giving out a cry and a few sniffles, tears quickly brimming her eyes from the initial pain. it really stings. as she's picked up and whisked away by alucard, small fists are wiping the tears from her eyes. her knees barely hurt anymore. she pouts; not because of having fallen and hurt herself, but because it means the end of playtime.    " just a little longer? pretty please? i'll be more careful, i promise! "

melody does have the ability to heal, except it’s not really a conventional type of healing in that she doesn’t cast a spell and she’s done with it. she relies on the medicinal properties of certain plants! ginger root for stomach aches, feverfew for fevers and migraines, willow bark as a general pain reliever, etc. melody can channel those properties from the plant into the person she’s trying to help.

#me writing this tiny paragraph: does this make sense #fkhasdfg #i just like the thought of her being able to heal or ease ppl's pain through plants c: #headcanons.

ngl i really like the thought of mel being pretty strong from the heavy lifting she does around her shop.

#she would've been doing heavy lifting when she was still working for mr hartley too since #he was old and couldn't rlly do that on his own #so she did most if not all of it #and i just like to think of her building up arm and leg muscle strength bc of it #i just think that's Neat :) #so anyway mel is surprisingly strong! #ooc. #headcanons. #bc yeah why not put it in that tag

HEY ALL. no, i have not forgotten this blog (okay i did a little) but i’m still alive, i promise. y’know, for those of you that know me on my main blog. i’ve been really stressed with irl shit BUT it seems to have finally calm down and i’ve been working on replies on my main blog and since i’ve gotten most of them done, i’ll soon be working on things here! i will also be changing my url bc i’ve technically had this url for several years and i just think it’ll be nice to change it (which i will be doing soon after posting this).

just wanted to drop in and say all that. apologies to those that have been waiting on replies from me!
