The advantages of milk in the human system are well recognised — drinking milk in Indian homes was indeed a cultural habit since the very beginning, when every single home often had a cow that produced fresh milk. Unfortunately, our milk consumption practices have changed with a variety of possibilities. The advantages of A1 milk vs A2 milk are a topic frequently explored nowadays. It is crucial to grasp the contrast between the different milk kinds in order to create a healthy selection. A1 milk is perhaps the most regularly drank milk sold today. The milk basically  derived from Western cows, such as Friesian Holstein and Jersey, and produces huge amounts of milk is termed as A1 milk. A2 milk is, however, acquired from indigenous cows such as Gir, Sahiwal, and so on. that are likely to produce less milk than their western counterparts. Although both types of milk come from the same source that is the cow, there are relatively huge differences in their chemical makeup. There is a difference in the ratios of lactose (carbohydrate component) and fatty acids (fat component) in both milks. However, it is the protein component in the milk that differentiates the two from each other in terms of quality. A1 milk has A1 type of protein (casein) and A2 milk has A2 type of protein (casein). This is important because the way the milk is broken down and metabolised in the system is different. Due to the difference in availability, A1 milk is relatively cheaper and easier to prod than A2 milk. However, presently opinions are different about the health effects/benefits offered by each type of milk. There has been a growing preference for A2 milk because of its health benefits. One of the major reasons behind the spark of this discussion is the presence of BCM-7 (Beta-casomorphine-7) in A1 milk which is not present in A2 milk and has been held responsible for several undesirable health consequences. Therefore it can be concluded that the production of the milk in the domestic way with the help of indigenous breeds such as Gir, Sahiwal and many more should be used since domestic A2 milk is much more healthy and with positive nutritional aspects than the A1 mik.
