The only thing that makes life bearable for Light Yagami is the Kpop idol Beyond Birthday. When he meets his nemesis, the equally devoted fan L, his world begins to open up. In this chapter: Light braves the myriad horrors of retail work L isn’t dressed up this time. He’s wearing a pale grey sweater and faded blue jeans which are a little too big for him. There’s a tiny bit of eyeliner around his eyes, heavily smudged; it looks like he��d tried to take it off and done a very bad job of it. I know L has the vibes to have "likely never been to a bar," but I'm super fond of the picture of him showing up to "wild places" or just social places specifically to people watch or to ignore them entirely. It's always in his weird recluse manner of sitting in the corner not talking to anyone that seems contradictory to showing up in the first place. He just... Is there. To the other bar goers who notice him, is he enjoying himself? Is he waiting for someone? Why is he here? He doesn't particularly look like he's having fun or like he's bored, he's just staring at everyone, or sometimes lost in thought to himself. Wouldn't he prefer to be in a library for this? - and the answer is no. If he has all that money, he's going to Vacation with it with Me Myself and I and no one else is particularly invited. He may not scream on roller coasters, or express any sort of thrill at all, but you figure he must like it cuz he keeps wordlessly getting back in line to ride the loop-de-loop.
