A wood statue of the Chinese-Buddhist deity Guanyin. Made during the Liao (916–1125) or Jin (1115–1234) dynasties.
It’s currently located in The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City, Missouri.

Lanzhou beef noodle soup (Lanzhou lamian) 兰州牛肉面 from Gansu province 🍜
One of the oldest beef noodle soups, which was created by the Hui people of northwest China during the Tang dynasty. the recipe is named after Lanzhou city, which was a stop on the ancient Silk Road. The Hui Muslim population developed a variation of beef noodle soup noodle that is compatible with their Muslim diet.
The Japanese word "ramen" is a borrowing of the Chinese word “lamian” (拉麵).

🦜 Diyi | 翟衣 🦜
Is a type of historical Chinese attire worn by empresses. During the Song (960–1279) and Ming (1368–1644) dynasties, it was considered the highest form of ceremonial clothing worn by the empress. It’s worn with Fengguan (phoenix crown). It was first recorded as “Huiyi” in the Zhou dynasty (1046–256 BC).

Is a historical type of courtyard residence that is commonly found across China. Designs differ in every region. For example, in the northwest where dust storms are strong, the walls tend to be higher. In the South the houses are built with multiple stories. In the northeast the weather is cold so courtyards are broad and large to increase the exposure to sunlight, and there are more open rooms inside the walls.
