I had a suuuuuuper long day yesterday, getting everything ready for an afternoon tea (sweets only) order. I made over one hundred individual pieces; including cakes (chocolate and raspberry, and vanilla and strawberry), tarts (raspberry, blackcurrant, chocolate and raspberry) and biscuits (orange and chocolate shortbread, lemon shortbread, chocolate Viennese whirls). Also with the order were another dozen flower cupcakes (lemon, chocolate, and vanilla) and a two tier knitting and sewing cake (lemon on top, red velvet on the bottom). Wishing Kate and Simon all the best on their wedding day. The three tier chocolate buttercream cake is reduced sugar vanilla and chocolate marble inside, with nutless chocolate nut buttercream inside! The exterior is decorated in edible flowers (dwarf roses and pansies), berries (strawberries, raspberries and blueberries) and freeze dried raspberries. It was just as complicated as it sounds, I assure you, especially as I had to do all the decorating on arrival!
