Petra Solano Fanfic - Jane the Virgin S2 Finale

To give some context, it’s been a few hard years for Petra, but things seem to be looking up for her. Though her twin sister posted an essay writing ad about Petra’s friend Jane causing tension between the three of them, Jane still wanted Petra at her wedding which she was not expecting. Anezka had originally lied claiming she hadn’t posted the ad to Jane but told Petra she did. Petra covered for her because she wanted to help her long lost sister from getting in trouble. But when Jane confronted the two of them after putting the pieces together - due to the stress overload - Anezka’s epilepsy was triggered resulting in a seizure and afterwards confessed to attempting to sabotage Jane’s job. Jane and Anezka were never really close, so that didn’t affect their dynamic too much and Anezka and Petra moved past the situation without any hard feelings. Now it’s the present and it’s Jane and Michael’s wedding day. It was a truly beautiful wedding. So beautiful in fact, Petra got a little teary-eyed leaving the wedding early, wishing she could experience a wedding like that. But her relationships never lasted, to name a few endings: acid thrown on her mother and having to flee the Czech Republic, ditching the guy for another one with more money, being blackmailed to sign divorce papers after the discovery of her affair and also the discovery that she was living under a false identity, the guy she had an affair with being murdered only for her find out that he had a twin brother who he was actually posing as and that he killed his twin brother so he kidnapped her to make sure that no one would find out and she ended up impaling him, which ironically the same way he killed his twin brother. Thankfully she is in her home with the comfort of her innocent sister and her few month old twin girls, right? Well, Petra was recently diagnosed with PPD so she had a hard time connecting with her children and bonding with them. She was currently on anti-depressants and at this very moment she was holding one of her daughters (Elsa) and her other one (Anna) was being held by Anezka. With tears in Petra’s eyes because of the lack of good past relationships, Elsa ironically giggles. This causes Anezka to comment and say that her baby has her sense of humour, “laughing at others' tears”. Petra laughs at this joke because she agrees with it. The sisters share a sweet moment for a split second, Petra is happy. And in that split second, she lets her guard down. She is in the moment. She isn’t paying attention, she is looking at her daughter. She doesn’t notice her sister’s loss of innocence, hear her sister’s change of voice, see Anezka’s face turn serious and won’t understand the following words until it’s too late. “Maybe she’ll laugh at this too.” This is the point in time where Petra should have realized things weren’t right and that Anezka was secretly working with their crazy, murderous mother. But how could she know? She couldn’t… Anezka had her right where she wanted, months of trying to gain her trust had come to this. The next thing Petra’s mind processed was the sharp pain leaking from her shoulder and she gasped and turned around. There was no going back now and she looked down, seeing Anezka injecting a needle into her. She had roughly five seconds to try and figure out why her sister was doing this as well as what she was doing. The question, “What’s gonna happen to me?” was whirling in her head just before she lost consciousness…
