FILE ONE (3:12 MIN)
A bright sunny day during lunchtime. Artemis sits across from him in a leather chair with a large coke and a surf and turf burger, chewing French fries with ketchup and mayonnaise. Her hair is in a messy bun; her freckles spell love me in a blushy pink. Off-screen Orion asks a couple of things, but the video is oblivious to the sound of his voice. Artemis smiles and the sun shames on the horizon.
FILE TWO (2:09 MIN)
A black and white video of his own face. A cigarette hangs between his lips and he looks as if his mind is far, far away. âYou should smile more often,â Artemisâ voice says off-screen. One of her hands comes into the shot and pushes the flesh of his cheek up until it looks like half of a smile. In the background the train comes in; the sound is loud enough to drown anything else she says.
FILE THREE (13:33 MIN)
The camera shakes wildly in Orionâs hands. Trees and leaves are rushing past him - a blur of emerald and moss green, seaweed and chartreuse and lime and forest until the camera stabilizes and shows a wide clearing with a single stub towering out in the middle. Artemis is in front of him, a bag of Oreos and lemonade bottles in her hand. She climbs on top of the stub and starts to dance to the tune of a melody Orion cannot hear. Her body sways and swings and moves in waves and curves and rhythms. The video stops when his battery dies.
FILE FOUR (6:24 MIN)
The video is darker than usual and itâs hard to see the glittering outlines and shapes of the city below them. Artemis sits close to the edge of a skyscraper, feet dangling lazily over the edge. Orion speaks first. âIf you had one wish, what would it be?â âTo fall in love,â Artemis says without a beat. She closes her eyes and breathes in the fresh, crisp air. Orion follows her example, but then he asks, voice a mere whisper: âWhy?â Artemis breathes out, long and drawn, and the silence stretches on. The night is fatally silent around them. When she speaks her lips are white from the cold. âBecause I hope then I will forget what it ever felt like to be hurt by the person that came before.â The video stops without another word.
FILE FIVE (0:31 MIN)
Blurred outlines of Artemisâ room in the middle of the night, only illuminated by the flash of moonlight breaking through her curtains. She lies in her bed, deeply asleep with her face bright like dawn. Orionâs hand reaches out to brush some stray strands away. She stirs, but continues sleeping. It ends with his breath on the line.

ANTEROS
In Greek mythology, Anteros is the god of requited love, literally âlove returnedâ. Anteros was the son of Ares and Aphrodite, given as a playmate to his brother Cupid, who was lonely â the rationale being that love must be answered if it is to prosper. Physically, he is depicted as similar to Cupid in every way, but with plumed butterfly wings. He has been described also as armed with either a golden club or arrows of lead. X
