This spring Milanblocks gave us a look at some of her newest creations. The focus was on minority designers and was hosted at MACY'S in the Houston Galleria. If you're not familiar with the designer, Milanblocks creates some really unique handbags and clothing. The event was full of energy and the garments were unique in their design and vivid in color and complimented the aesthetic perfectly for a busy Saturday afternoon. We were lucky to make it in time to catch the runway, the amazing dancing and of course the bags! Check out more of Milanblocks at www.milanblocks.com.

FASHION MEETS ART
At Gallery Sonja Roesch
The concept of the show is based
on the intersection of three
elements: femininity, art, and
sustainability. Aside from its utility,
each piece of clothing serves as a
means of artistic expression. Unique
clothing pieces created in collaboration
with Houston artist Myke Venable will
also be showcased. All in one
unforgettable evening, guests will
enjoy the fashion show with live music
by DJ Ebz, an opening designer - Nour De La Garza,
and refreshments by Mix it Up.
About Abstraction design:
“Abstraction” clothing brand was created by a
European creative currently living in Houston.
The mission of “Abstraction design” is to show
the world that we can produce magnificent clothing
pieces using slow fashion and upcycling techniques
rather than generating more and more textile waste
by mass-production of cheap, disposable clothing.
It's very important to bring awareness to the extremely
wasteful and massively polluting apparel industry.
It's second only to the oil industry when it comes to
pollution. Fast fashion and unethical labor has ruined
our collaborative artistic integrity. "Abstraction"
specializes in handmade, made-to-measure designs
combining curated vintage fabrics and other materials
to produce absolutely one-of-a-kind garments ranging
from street wear to extraordinary gowns.
