BEAR WITH ME IF THIS IS COMMON KNOWLEDGE!!! *Most* of the time, a gem’s personality defines where her stone is on her body.

Sapphire’s gem is on her hand due to her ability to reach through time. Ruby’s is on her hand due to her tendency to speak with her fist.

Peridot, Pearl and White Diamond have their gems on their forehead, representing how they act on logic. On top of this, White Diamond’s gem is literal yards above everyone else’s, like how she thinks of herself as above everyone else.

Yellow, Blue, Bismuth and Amethyst all have gems where their hearts would be. This is because they lead with their emotions - Blue with grief, Yellow with anger, Bismuth with passion and Amethyst with…well, whatever she’s feeling at that moment.

Lapis has her gem on her back - and it’s cracked until Steven fixes it. As in, she was backstabbed and was hurting from that until Steven helped her trust others again.

And my favorite - why is Jasper’s gem where it is? Because she literally can’t see past the end of her nose.
