The emergence of Honesty Jeepney in Davao City amidst the COVID-19 crisis
The current pandemic has raised several questions and concerns regarding every country’s political system such as healthcare and budgeting. These concerns evolve into a more serious trajectory–people’s trust in the government and its people. When people do not exactly know where to turn and put their faith into, they rely upon themselves, and how to survive all alone with a few loved ones.

The Pop Blog just made it to Feedspot’s Top 20 Pop Culture Blogs
Having a blog is no easy task. The basic hardships are writing, photography, multitasking, content brainstorming, and everything that my co-bloggers at the Davao Bloggers Society are good at. However, it doesn’t stop at that. Even if you have great content, it doesn’t mean that people are gonna find out about you or if they do, it doesn’t mean that they will be converted into subscribers.

My formal OOTD to my cousin’s wedding
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Believe it or not, I had to lose some weight for this ceremony, and it’s a great thing that I did! That’s the cute, but simple dress I bought for only 300PHP 6USD! The bag I used is actually the Jessica Poppy Bag, but when taking pictures, I accessorized the whole thing with my sister’s Lacoste Bag. The shoes I wore was also very cheap. I bought it for around 450PHP or 9USD months back. I rarely use it, so to my delight, I got a wedding that came. HAHA
Tumblr media
Here’s a close-up picture. I used the necklace that my boyfriend gave me, and paired it with the bracelet and earrings that came with it. For my make-up, I had to rely on my sister’s expertise, but told her to keep it simple, so it’s mostly just the basics. The glasses wouldn’t go anywhere! HAHA

Black and Pastel Graciousness
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pastel colors are also difficult to match. It's almost integral that you just pair them with other pastel colors, their darker colors (like hot pink for baby pink) or monochromes, such as black. I'm also not a fan of donning an all-exclusive black, white, or any color outfit. If I do, I make sure that my shoes or bag is different.
Tumblr media
Blanc and Eclare's Poppy bag was hard to pair, so I decided on an all-black outfit. The boots are from koreancravings.com, and the dress, I thrifted from Bangkerohan market
Tumblr media
Introducing, my sort-of-a-heartthrob little brother! LOL What are your favorite colors to match? Tell me in the comments below!

I played Ragnarok because of love and overcoming the "poseur" syndrome
I played Ragnarok because of love and the overcoming the “poseur” syndrome
I’m not ashamed of it. Yes, I’m playing Ragnarok Mobile: Eternal love because of LOVE–at least for the first month. While some people find love on the ROG game, I found it way before that. I’m playing it to deepen my relationship with my SO, and it’s not a bad thing, right?
A lot of men dream of being the knight of the shining armor, the heroes of the game. In real life, not everyone can be like…

The only reason why we should vote (from a cynic’s point of view)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hence, people like me have a tough time choosing among the candidates. I believe they are all corrupt and hypocrite, as we all are, at one point or another. Many of them are kiss-asses to businessmen that are not of help, or even worse, detrimental to our country. A 30-second advertisement costs anywhere between Php500,000.00 - Php800,000.00 depending on the time slot. The faces you see during commercial breaks of Ang Probinsyano pay Php800,000 for sure, given its primetime slot. Where do they all get the money? You know they will re-earn it once they get the position. So what's really the point of registering yourself as a voter and voting? The Voter's ID is an official one. Yes, while you may already have your SSS IDs and such, there might come a time in your life that a particular entity (gov't or non-gov't) that would ask you to go to your nearest Comelec office for further verification. While my mother was processing the Philhealth papers of my recently deceased grandma (my mother’s aunt), she had a tough time because one, my grandma was never registered to vote and was a homemaker, so she didn’t pay any taxes. That is aside from the fact that they have different middle names and surnames even though my mom was her official guardian (she never married and had lived with my mom’s family since). You might think that you won’t really need a voter’s ID because you’re complete with your working ids, ITR, passport, etc., but your voter’s ID can also be of extra help when you’re looking to loan, as it contains all your official information. According to my mom’s secretary who is a Jehovah’s witness (their religion abstains from all political activities such as voting), they still register and even vote in the precincts (they just leave the paper blank or cross out everyone on the list). She said that during the time she applied for an Austrian visa, her voter’s id was one of the requirements.
Tumblr media
Afterthoughts Now I mentioned in my title that that's the only reason why we have to vote, but I have decided to vote for 7-10 candidates (mostly new and those who don't have TV commercials haha) this upcoming Philippine senatorial elections. I don't really care if they don't stand a chance. I also don't expect much from them. I've been trying to resist the incumbent system in my thoughts, but everyone can't just get away with it. There is a system, and it demands leaders. Leaders will never be obsolete. I am not willing to do it, so I want someone else to do it, and not any of my relatives. However punk or socialist a person may be, one would not like the world to be a catastrophe (more than it is today). At the end of the day, it all boils down to choice. You have the right to choose to vote or not to vote. The copyright-free images used in this blog post are from Unsplash.

The Philippines' Declining Movie Industry: The Economic Factor
The Philippines’ Declining Movie Industry: The Economic Factor

Celebrification 101: My First Experience with Browhaus' Eyebrow Resurrection
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My bare face before the brow resurrection; I almost have no brows Upon entering the salon, I was greeted with friendly smiles from the girls of Browhaus. I introduced myself, and they explained the process and let me sign a waiver to make sure that I was in my perfect state before doing the procedure and meeting the therapist who would resurrect or actually create my nonexistent eyebrows. The questionnaire consists of a checklist of several health conditions you might be having that can be detrimental to the procedure or vice versa. These include allergies, pregnancy, current medications, skin conditions, and other health and skin concerns. If you have any of these conditions, then you better wait before going for the procedure as they can affect its aftermath.
Tumblr media
with the super talented and pretty brow architect, Miss Eds After this, I finally met miss Eds, the therapist who did my brows. I would call her a brow architect as she is very keen on examining my face and in doing those intricate strands. She's the first Brow Resurrection therapist who was trained under Browhaus Philippines. Aside from that, she told me that she was trained for 3 years for this. She's like the master guru, so lucky me! Miss Eds and Miss Monique of Browhaus told me that each of us has to have our own unique set of eyebrows and it should be based on our face, eyes, and hair color. Miss Eds examined my entire face for a few minutes and decided that I should go for a Full brow resurrection, among the 3 others (Classic, Soft, Ombre) to choose from.
Tumblr media
There were several colors to choose from, and Miss Eds mixed three different colors: dark brown, light brown, and taupe for my eyebrows. As for the brow shape, I knew that a slight arch works on my face and Miss Eds completely agreed with me. It's still your final call which to choose for your BR type, color, and arch because the brow architect will let you check and approve. However, given Miss Eds' expertise, I completely entrusted my brows to her. After everything was settled, she drew the Full BR eyebrows using a pencil first. Browhaus uses organic ink for the color, so our skin and the entire body is completely safe from harmful chemicals. Miss Eds applied numbing cream on my eyebrows and left it for 20 minutes so the procedure wouldn't hurt.
Tumblr media
Leaving on the numbing cream After 20 minutes, it was time for the real procedure. Miss Eds ensured me that Browhaus uses brand new, sealed, and sterilized multi-pins for every customer. They dispose of it afterward.
Tumblr media
The entire session was pain-free! It helped that miss Eds would reapply the numbing cream after several minutes. She also reapplied more color after the microblading was finished so that the color would stick more, especially since they're using organic ink.
Tumblr media
The procedure took just about 45 minutes, plus the 20 minutes of leaving on the numbing cream. Now, here's me wearing happy–brows!
Tumblr media
AFTER-EFFECT and AFTERCARE After the procedure, my brows appeared to be way darker than it's supposed to be, but this is normal. They said that the final desired output would be visible after a month. They gave me 2 aftercare products infused with vitamins and minerals. The Build is a post-treatment serum to repair and regenerate skin cells. The other one is called Fix, which is an anti-scarring balm.
Tumblr media
It's was a BIG NO-NO to wet my brows 7-10 days after the procedure. It was hard at first, and I couldn't find a way to cover up my brows while showering. Miss Eds suggested a plastic cap for the eyebrows that can be bought at Mercury drug, but the 4 branches I visited here in Davao didn't have any, so I gave up. I was cautious not to wet my eyebrows and thankfully, I survived it. I cleaned my forehead using cotton and micellar water. I didn't feel anything concerning for the first few days except for a little bit of itchiness, which is very typical, so I just applied the aftercare products. It's been a week since I had the procedure and this is how my eyebrows look like now:
Tumblr media
Just after waking up I think they're perfect! I'll give you an update after a month and after three months because I'm supposed to revisit them for a retunement. Browhaus' Brow Resurrection Semipermanent Brows will usually last for a year. Now I can finally pull off a bare face anywhere with this! Thank you, Browhaus!❤ If you have questions, ask away on the comment box below. Little actions and promises I’m making today for a better tomorrow
Tumblr media
This is the blog diary wherein I am proclaiming to myself, whether someone gets to read this or not, that I will be consistently doing meaningful stuff that will improve my motivation not just in work, but in life in general. If that rings a bell, then maybe you can do these things as well. This will be the first of the series of blogs I write after experimenting with these actions.
I don't consider myself as still having emotional and mental issues, but to be honest, I always tend to think of thoughts that are not appropriate for my brain.
It's way impossible to let go of negativity entirely as we are not the mere people in this world. Wherever we go, there will always be that tiny bit of negativity surrounding us that can trigger every self-doubt, or worse, self-sabotage. However, just knowing that all of it will come to pass brings us to positivity. All I'm saying is we can't be positive all the time due to our environment, but it will only take maybe seconds
or minutes to change our thoughts once again. It's just a cycle. After all the adversity that has come into my life, I went into a realization that it happened on purpose and I have to let go of them.
However, I also want to give a thumbs up to myself for refusing to actively take part in anything negative, like the political divisiveness of my beloved country. I rarely watch the news or read the political papers and have a minimal idea about our upcoming senatorial elections. I'm not even sure if I would take the time and effort to vote in May. I ultimately stopped caring about the political realm, except for some times when I get triggered by several tweets.
Tumblr media
Now off to these things I promise to do every single day:
1. List at least 10 things I grateful for that I have received unexpectedly or expectedly during the day. The everyday air I breathe, or the water I drink are counted.
2. Meditate for at least 10 minutes twice a day, just before sleeping and after waking up. There are different types of meditation, but during the first few days, I'll focus on clearing my mind and letting go of any thoughts.
3. Do self-affirmations in the present tense. Again I'm doing this just after waking up and before sleeping. Here are examples: "I am focused." "I know what I want." "I am living the life of my dreams."
4. Write 10 times (in the present tense) something that I want to happen in the future. Example. "I'm happy and grateful that I am earning at least 200USD monthly on my blog alone." This is affirming, believing, and asking about a thing that I do not see yet in the physical realm but believe is on its way already.
5. Based on number 1, I finally promise to complete the 28-day "Thank you" challenge in Rhonda Byrne's The Magic. Yes, "The Secret" might bullshit to some degree, but I highly recommend "The Magic." It's just a basic rule to be grateful to whoever helps you or gives you even a tiny service, and also to thank whoever your deity is or this wonderful universe we are in.
Tumblr media
These five will help me decide and give me the confidence to go for anything, but the main factor is taking action, and writing this blog post, I believe is already doing that. Most people are already bombarded with work, games, love life, and the "real taking action," that they fail to do important stuff like meditation, intention-setting, and self-reflection. They even think that it's easy, but to be honest, the consistency of doing these things is the thing that I have been struggling with for years now. Now, I'm promising to be consistent with it finally. Hence, I'm putting it to writing for anyone in the world to see.
As I've said earlier, this is going to be a blog series project so I'll explain each of the 5 things in different posts. This post might be a bit vague or confusing for other people who are very busy with their work and have not been able to be in a meditative place entirely, but again, I'll explain it thoroughly. If you also want to do this with me, feel free to contact me or write a comment.
Thank you so much!

Shopping online: A checklist on how to discern which shops are legit
Shopping online: A checklist on how to discern which shops are legit
We know a lot of people, especially the baby boomers (or older) like my parents are technologically-challenged. Many of us millennials and Gen-Xers laugh at them and probably become impatient with them. However, there’s this term I would like to coin that deals with people, not just with baby boomers and older, but millennials as well. I like to call it: the online shopping noobs.
Online shopping…
