I remember seeing these things as a child. I was the type who liked gems (even fake ones) and pretty colors, so the clear pacifiers appealed to me. My family did not have a lot of money to spend to keep up with fashion fads, however.

Have you ever thought about how setting a fictional story during the years when you were a child technically makes your story historical fiction?
My grandmother was a child during WW2. If she wrote a fictional story based on her childhood experiences, it’s historical fiction.
Sometimes I write fanfics for a franchise that was available when I was a child — I am getting experience for writing historical fiction simply by remembering the culture, technology, literature, etc.. of that era.
