Please do not buy. Throw them away if your dog gets one as a gift. Giving rawhide to a dog is never a good idea. Many of these so called treats end up with the dog "enjoying" some time in a veterinary surgery over Christmas. The vast majority of these rawhide products and treats come from China. The chews are made from cattle or horse hides and their journey starts with the hides being soaked in a toxic sodium sulfide to remove the hair and fat. More chemicals are used in order to split the hide into layers which is then washed with hydrogen peroxide to give the white "pure" look and remove the rancid smell. Now comes the pretty festive colors and the glue to form cute shapes. On testing, these chews have shown traces of arsenic, mercury, chromium and formaldehyde. If that wasn't bad enough, they regularly cause intestinal blockages, poisoning from chemical residue and choking. The chews go slippery when wet and are near impossible to get hold of to save a choking dog. I’ve been M.I.A from streaming on my twitch because I’m trying to get to Idaho which was just 4 hours away to my destination After 3 days of driving from Philadelphia, PA; My son, my Dog Star, my two cats Mizuki & Elune and myself had undergone an accident. Despite all the damage, the double roll out and the glass shattering on a cement pavement during the roll in the third dip of the lane…yes third because there were three lanes each separated with a dip of grass and wired fences, my car finally stopped. The highway is an 80mph limit. Thankfully, using the mirrors with the best of my ability before the car rolled over, we managed to survive it all. I only sustained injuries to my left shoulder and knees. My son ended up with only a broken tooth and my pets had no injuries what’s so ever. Elune had even flown out of the vehicle from when the windows shattered after the roll because the crate door was forced open but surprisingly she survived unharmed. I was able to get my clothes from the vehicle with the help of the k9 rescue team who offered to bring our essentials, but my monitor, and gaming desktop was destroyed. So I won’t be able to stream until I can manage to get back money to buy another one. I lost so much more, the only little things I had left over from everything else I had decided to throw away because it couldn’t fit my car. I worked hard for everything to leave from things that weren’t good for me for something better and in the end…I lost it all; material things but the most important thing in life are still with me by my side, Alive and safe. I WILL Rise up again from this like I have done before. Just another challenge in my path and I hope I won’t be doing it alone again. And to whoever was looking out for me during that disaster, idk what you are or who you are, but thank you for keeping the most important things to me safe and still in my life.
