NEWS REPORT
[ Event ]
It's been a rough ride but the scientists have finally had a break through on their geostigma virus that cropped up a few months ago. ShinRa is to thank for this victory. Though most victims will still retain heavy scaring and weakness for an undetermined amount of time after the cure is distributed the well being of Midgar is back on its way.
The lower plate is still in shambles, efforts to clean it up have progressed. All bodies have been disposed of as soon as the water was drained safely from the slums. Rebuilding the slums will not be easy. But with ShinRa's tower finally finished, they have the ability to push their efforts toward the slums project. In the mean time, a young woman has set up a refugee center in an only abandoned church that has managed to withstand the flooding. She is offering all the help and space she can in return for work and services. She is taking anything given to her and the people in need.
With the ShinRa building finally finished and the employees moving back into their regular work schedules. ShinRa has decided to hold a charity ball to help the efforts for the slums rebuilding and celebrate ShinRa's return. The attendees are still hush hush, but the charity ball with be happening sometime this coming week.
Stay tuned for more as we ask the question What will ShinRa do next?
[ Players will have the option to attend the ball in two ways. They can be INVITED [via a ShinRa employee, everyone gets a plus 1 obviously ] or they can CRASH the party – sneaking in will be easier than you think but try not to let anyone know you're not supposed to be there.
ShinRa has heavily, heavily suggested that SOLDIERs and Turks bring dates to appear more approachable which will help involve non-ShinRa members and lower leveled grunts. But be careful, people will take notice who you'll be with.
Those who contracted Geostigma will have scaring where the water touched them, and will be relatively weak for this event. If you didn't touch the water and obtained the illness the scaring is in your lungs. So you'll get short of breath easier until you recover.
This month will be down time aside from the ball. ShinRa will be doing no missions and will be giving their staff some time to adjust.]

Happy February everyone! Just a little notice about how were changing things around here.
As you know we're a very laid back group. But activity is very, very important in us shaping decisions and making this group work for you. That being said, without and absence you have to post at LEAST once an event. This allows characters who aren't super involved to do a one shot post about their feelings and choices on the matter.
We'll be slowing down a little also to one event a month to give you guys a little more time to finish the threads you start. We were a little gungho in the beginning diving into that suffering. But we're realing it back now.
The previous event will still be open after we start a new one and so on. So while Event 5 is over, no more Event 4 threads while Event 6 is running. But you can still do Event 5 threads during Event 6 and they'll be considered canon of Dicon!
If you're having trouble finishing threads, drabble it out! Collaborate on how you want this to end and write it out in one big cooperative one shot so that all of the information is there for us admins to absorb and use to destroy you!
