I understand that Riley would want Spike to live with the pain. The fear that human could and actually has staked Spike.

My question is, was Riley using the fake stake at the suck house? Because keeping a fake stake gotta be for kink reasons.

Not that I’m not glad for it, but why didn’t Riley just kill Spike in “Into the Woods”? I can’t imagine he’d have any moral compunctions against it in his present state of mind, if he ever did, and there’s no way he’d ever get caught. Even if he had stayed in Sunnydale, do you think any of the rest of them would have given more than a moment’s thought to it if Spike just stopped showing up?
