Is God your Daddy? Are you Adopted?
Tumblr media
"For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” - Romans 8:15 ESV
Saved for much of life, basically saved right out of the womb, I did not know I was a son of God, I always thought Jesus was only the true 'Son of God'?! But I found through much study of the Bible, the cross was much more significant than paying the debt of our sins. Truly we exchanged places with Jesus.
"I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." - Galatians 2:20 ESV
Where Christ took death, I recieved his life. Where Christ took my sin, I recieved his righteousness. Where Christ was forsaken as God's son, I was adopted by God as his son.
"And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!" - Galatians 4:6 ESV
Those who have accepted Christ for the due penalty of their sin are ADOPTED into the family of our Heavenly Father! We aren't servants, but like Christ we have a servants heart. We're friends with Jesus but also sons/daughters of the Father, and students of the Holy Spirit who teaches us how to be very close friends with Jesus and how to mature to be mature sons and daughters of the Father assuring us of truth.
So, are you adopted son/daughter of God or are you still a slave? If you'd like to talk email me at [email protected] God Bless, Dave Lee

WORLD Governments vs. The KINGDOM of GOD's Government
Tumblr media
Kingdom government is not about authority and ruling. It is about restoring and replicating in humanity, the love the Father and Son have for, and in, each other. Where love is perfected, authority is not necessary. There is no hierarchy, government or “ruling over” in the Trinity. Just shared, interpenetrating, eternal, self-sacrificial love!
Do a word study some time on the “God is” statements of scripture. You will find things like: God is love, God is righteous, God is true, etc. What will be conspicuously absent is: “God is authority.” Why?
Where love is perfected, there is nothing to “rule!”
The Trinity does not need to “rule” itself like the possibility of fragmentation exists as if the Son and the Spirit might someday operate independently from under the “Father’s executive headship and governmental authority!” Of course, this is absurd, preposterous–and unfortunately the way many view the Trinity.
God’s kingdom on earth should reflect His nature. The bond of maturity/completeness (KJV: perfection) is love, not authority. Authority is only a remedial necessity to restrain chaos in a fallen world when the power of love is not present, weak, or has failed. Authority/ruling is not kingdom normative–love is.
The more mature we become, the more we realize his kingdom, the less we will talk about authority and government, and the more we will talk about and demonstrate, love.  Authority and love are both, indeed, kingdom qualities of this present age, but they are inversely proportional.
A family held together primarily by authority, is no real family. It is a regime. The relational has suffered/yielded, perhaps even to the point of extinction, to the “governmental.” Love is the bond of a healthy, functional family, with authority occasionally necessary to prevent chaos.  The Trinity is not a managed regime. It is an eternally sweet familial, self-sacrificial, covenantal unity of diversity, bound by perfect love. God’s family on earth should reflect the same.

THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS NOT A PLACE
Jesus said " … . . The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed; nor will they say " ‘Look, here it is!’ or ‘There it is!’ For behold, the kingdom of God is in your midst”.  Luke 17:20,21
"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things (earthly needs) will be added to you”.  Matthew 6:33
"Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again (reformed in Him) he cannot see (understand) the kingdom of God.” John 3:3
The kingdom of God is a way of life; lived when we conform to truth:
"And you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”  John 8:32
"But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.”  John 3:21
"But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. John 4:23
"God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit ( the inner man) and truth (genuineness)”. John 4:24
"In the exercise of His will He brought us forth by the word of truth… James 1:18
The word of God is that truth we live by:
"But He answered and said, "It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’”  Matthew 4:4
"For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12
"But whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.”  1John 2:5,6
Living the truth produces the kingdom within you:
"For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking (fleshly observances), but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”  Romans 14:17
LIVE THE TRUTH. BECOME THE KINGDOM. UNVEIL THE CHURCH

It's amazing how far we've come from eating locusts and wild honey to living in mansions, still believing we're preparing the way of Christ like John the Baptist did. Or how amazing it is we've come from expecting persecution and preach the gospel of the Kingdom anyhow getting our heads cut off, burned alive, or crucified... but today if we feel at the least inconvenienced or uncomfortable that God couldn't be calling us to places where we just might die.

The Journey Defines You
Tumblr media
I will share with you what I wrote back in 2010 right before Christmas on a Greyhound Bus on my way to Phoenix, Arizona. It was certainly a defining time in my life. It was very timely when I wrote this, for little did I know how true this would become in my life, even on that trip to Phoenix, Arizona. The girl and her family I went to see that I was going to marry, quickly became heartache and heartbreak in my life. I believe God saved me from a wrong relationship in my life, saved me from marrying her. It was a defining moment in my life. I've learned never to fear the path I take, but to humble enough to admit the path I take is either right or wrong. If I find the path was wrong to be courageous enough to get back on the right path. I hope you enjoy, at the time I wrote this, the thoughts of a 18 year old man....
"The road we choose to take defines us. We do not define the road we travel on. It is how we react to how the road turns, widens, narrows, goes up and down that defines who we are because of the road we walk on. "Each road is different all being the 'right' or 'wrong' way. We either walk the road and find that which was wrong or continue to walk as if we are right. Or just being completely oblivious that it wasn't wrong or that we went the wrong way. "Many people have characterized the roads we take as being success or failure. Showing that there are many ways to success and many to failure. While failure does have many ways, in God's eyes, there is one only way "which leads to life".  "Failure goes by many roads because the way that leads to destruction is very wide and easy to find. Where the way which leads to life is difficult to find which is why only there are few who find it.  Matthew 10:39 "The problem is that, as humans, we have a nag of trying to take the direction of the road in our own hands, because of that we fail. INstead of allowing God to be in control and trust in him, we take the 'easy way' that heads down the road of destruction. "We don't know which way the road should go, because we didn't draw the plans. Let God be in control and trust in him and he'll build that road custom made for you payed by Christ's Sacrifice." God Bless, Dave Lee

In the autumn of 2011 I felt a growing discontentment over my middle-class expression of Christianity. This discontentment shattered the neat and tidy framework of thought that I constructed whilst growing up in middle-class Christendom around what it means to live life well.
Two years on, after...

About 200 students in Granite City, Illinois, attended an anti-bullying protest Friday outside of Coolidge Junior High School.
Granite City, Illinois - On Friday November 8th 200 Coolidge Middle School Students walked out of their classrooms to protest the unfair suspension of a girl, Taylor Allen, for defending herself from a bully. That bully didn't even get suspended for the threatening to beat her up and telling her she should kill herself, and had been doing so for a very long time. Janet, a student organizer of the protest, says they aren't only upset about the bully not being suspended but that Taylor was suspended for standing up for herself where the school district was obviously neglecting their responsibility to do. The "Zero Bully Tolerance" Policy at most area schools, punish the victim and the initiator of bullying. They say equality of discipline makes sure the true guilty party gets disciplined. When in reality the disciplinary action of the victim, in this case being that Taylor is a straight A student, can hurt their grades. Fact is if the school district was truly proactive in stopping bullying, victims of bullying wouldn't have to put bullies in their place through violence. In a school district full of violence with dozens of fights breaking out in their middle schools alone, it's irresponsible and cowardly of the school district to discipline students for doing their job. We're raising up a generation of cowards, because we too have become very cowardly scared to do what is necessary to stand up against injustice. The truth in this story is, the the only person that got suspended here was the victim of bullying, while the bully just got a slap in the face by Taylor Allen. -- Dave Lee
