Peek at a StarTrek Old West fic...
For the AOS Movie Trek 'verse, but it's AU anyway so. It's taken me a long while in getting this off the ground, but I think I'm finally in a good head space to give this more attention. The first couple of scenes at least will be heavily inspired by the M7 1990's movie series pilot ep, Ghosts of the Confederacy. You don't need to know anything about that to enjoy this, tho. I'm still working on this fic and it is nowhere near complete, but here's a teaser for any who might be interested:
I can’t die yet though, there’s still too much to do.
“Did he just insult us?”One man asked, training his pistol on McCoy. Leonard actually chuckled a dark laugh.
Still. The day he curbed his tongue would likely be the day of his death, anyway. When he was this angry, it just kinda came out and there’s no stopping it.
“If you have to ask, then I failed. Allow me to try again. You were too stupid to bring your friend in soon enough, so really, you’re the ones that killed him.” McCoy ground out, leaning forwards towards the gunman despite his aching ribs and head.
“Horace, gag him.” The leader said, eying McCoy distastefully. With the gun aimed on him, he didn’t try much, but he was so sorely tempted to try and bite the hand that came close to his face to pull up the black bandana he wore around his neck and stuff the front of it into his mouth, leaving it tied around his neck as it was. Hey, at least he was dressed for the occasion. And yet. If he had a preference in mode of death he’d have chosen a gun or better yet a knife fight over death by hanging. Not only would the black he wore from head to toe cover the blood stains, but…well. He really didn’t wanna die by hanging, all right?

Rescue Me, Chapter 15 preview
When he struggled to sit up - he hated drinking anything when flat on his back - Spock quickly interjected with a, “Captain,” and then pointed out the bed controls. Jim scoffed, but let the bed assist in making him sit up.
“I am allowed to move now, Spock. It’s probably even good for me.” He said as he accepted the cup of what he now realized was tea. He wrinkled his nose at it, but one look from Spock had him sighing and drinking it anyway.
“Too much stress on your spinal column this soon after surgery is unwise.” Spock in-toned, turning to grab a PADD off the bedside table.
“I’m sure Bones would – Bones! Has he woken up yet?” Jim asked, almost trying to jump out of the bed. Spock held out a restraining arm without even looking up, having anticipated this reaction upon Jim’s waking up.
“Negative; however, he should awaken soon. The scans remain positive.” Spock turned the PADD to show Jim the screen, which apparently held the doctor’s vitals. They both turned to look at the sleeping form on the other bed, but he didn’t so much as twitch. Jim let out a sigh. If this were a movie, he’d be waking up right about now, surely…but this wasn’t a movie.

Sneak Peek, Rescue Me Chapter 14
Jim was out of traction, now, but would still need to be in a hover chair for the next two days at least. He was beyond happy about that, and more than ready for another meld, but M’Benga was having them wait. Spock considered this wise, even though he had assured them several times that he was also ready for the meld.
It was taxing on him, especially in his current state, and truthfully he did need more sustenance and rest before another attempt. More to the point, Jim needed those things, too, no matter if he declared otherwise. So they would wait.
Spock had his suspicions that it was equally hard on the both of them - just sitting there, watching their other friend in his too-still of sleep, knowing that every moment that passed by was one more moment their friend was lost to them and one moment more than he needed to be lost. However, this time they had to be careful, they had to be prepared.
They had to be ready. Because this time, no matter what it cost him, Spock wasn’t gonna let them pull out until they had McCoy with them.

Rescue Me, Chap 13 Preview
I am slowly working on this chapter...detirmined to finish this story before I start posting anything else. I am gonna share this tidbit in hopes it kicks myself (my muse) back in to gear, ha...anyway, enjoy!
~*~
McCoy squinted at him, his eyes widening a fraction and for a split second Jim thought he saw a look of recognition there. It was gone as soon as it formed, though, so he really couldn't be sure…although, Bones was frozen and studying his face right now, so clearly there was something going on inside that hard head of his.
“Bones?” Jim asked, tilting his head as his friend continued to study his face. A beat passed, but then Bones gave a clear wince and Jim thought enough was enough.
Dr. M’Benga had supplied him with some low-level pain killers that shouldn’t interfere with anything else to give to McCoy, in pill form. He put out the pills along with a glass of water next to the selections he’d made for their morning meals. He put a hand on Bones’ shoulder and directed him over to the table then had him sit at the side with all that laid out. Instead of smiling gratefully and partaking of things as he was pretty much expecting him to, his friend gave a quick survey of the offerings, took one look at the pills and then leveled Jim with a ‘look.’
“What? You’ve gotta know they’re just pain pills, Bones. You like old-fashioned stuff, right? Not everything can go in a hypo.” Jim waved at him to go-ahead, and then took a seat and dug into his own meal himself. Bones stared at him for another beat, before audibly sighing and then, finally, starting in on his own meal. After a few bites, Jim pointedly stared at the pills, to which McCoy rolled his eyes and finally swallowed them down, sticking out his tongue at Jim afterward - though if that was in a sarcastic, ‘see, I didn’t fake swallowing them down,’ or just simply a childish gesture, he couldn’t be sure. Satisfied with the results either way, Jim refocused on his own meal.

Sneak Peek, Shuttlecraft
So I have been really slow with getting anymore writing out. Some things came up in real life, and unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to update Rescue Me until possibly mid-November, but was can hope for earlier. In the meantime, I know it's way late for #26 I think it was for Trektober, Shuttlecraft, but I've had this idea in my mind for a long time and this finally got me to start it. It's gonna be a longer story and I don't have a set time in mind to finish it, but here is a little snippit. Hope you enjoy. ;)
“Sir, there seems to be some sort of object on a path of collision with Shuttlecraft 2…moving rapidly.” Chekov replied, looking over his shoulder at Kirk with a clearly worried expression. Jim stood up from his Captain’s chair and drifted towards the viewscreen a few steps.
“Can we target it with a tractor beam, move it out of the way? Or if it’s unmanned, blow it up before it hits our craft?” Kirk suggested, looking over at the science officer currently standing in for Spock, who was currently in a lab somewhere going over what they’d found on the planet below.
“Scans of the object and inconclusive, sir. It appears to be made of some kind of metal, but as for exact size or signs of sentient life on board - I can’t get a clear enough reading, sir.” Taylor responded, shaking his head.
“Jones, open communications with the shuttle. Tell Mr. Sulu-” Kirk began, but was cut off by Chekov’s sudden cry of,
“Sir! The object - it just…”
“Sir, Sulu is reporting a hull breach - but I can’t…” Lieutenant Jones squinted, pressing the ear piece a little more into her ear as she flipped various switches and tried to get a better signal from the shuttle. “There is too much background noise, sir. It will take me a few moments to clean this up.”
“Do it,” Kirk responded, then turned back to Chekov, “Mr. Chekov, what is happening with our shuttle?”
“...It is going down, sir. There - there seemed to be…something falling from it…” That caught Kirk’s attention again, but he waited for Chekov to go on, “...the two objects are too far in the atmosphere for us to get a clear reading, sir, but based on the trajectory of the craft I can provide coordinates for a search party, Captain.” Chekov explained, only looking up at the end of his little speech.
“Two objects?” Kirk muttered to himself, but was again distracted at Jones’ urgent sir.
“Lieutenant Uhura got sucked through the breach in the hull, sir.” She informed her Captain, eyes wide. “And…and I believe, sir, Sulu just said Doctor McCoy went out after her.”

Written with AoS in mind, but could just as well be ToS. Little drabble based on the ToS ep: Shore Leave.

My take on putting the 2009 Star Trek movie peoples into the world of Pokemon? With a little bit of mystery elements...which won't be solved yet, but anyway...
