bela basically had no childhood and time to process all of it, it's insane.
first, her mother literally left with cassandra, leaving bela and dani behind. so the weight of responsibilities of helping taking care of dani fell on her (and she was only around 7 (!)).
second, she had to be the perfect elder daughter. only perfect grades, going to the university, running several projects, becoming the president of the student council.
and then the whole miranda shit happened. she found out that her mother is in a literal cult and her heart was taken for trying to protect her family and her mother did nothing about it.
now there is even more burdens on her shoulders that she should carry only by herself. because she cannot trust anyone else in the university and she'd rather be alone then let her sisters be also burdened by this.
all of her life she only knew how to work, be responsible and protect others no matter what it meant for her and she's only 20. barely a fucking adult.
wait do you hate miranda or is it all jokes i can’t tell
i mean it's all complex because she herself is complex but i would say that yes i indeed very much dislike her
i think she's interesting and it's very fun to analyze her and her dynamic and relationship with other characters. but i cannot bring myself to even like her for all the things she did
"Miranda and MC are soulmates, all the way up to their 19th life this is 100% proven and true (even though they don't always get to meet) but the 20th life is different because Miranda is still in her 19th. It could be argued that MCs soulmate is who 20th Miranda was supposed to be. (Could've been if a coin had been flipped)."
by now we all know that this said "flipped coin" is bela. that raises question: is bela mc's actual soulmate now instead of miranda or not?
personally, i like to think that she's not which also makes sense for her and her route.
(although i believe that both are possible and you can think about it however you want. after all, miranda and bela are the same coin, antagonist soulmates so this version makes sense too. but i prefer them NOT being soulmates)
hear me out: it's much better for mc to choose her destiny instead of following what was already written for her by the universe (and possibly miranda). because with bela it's all about choosing unlike with miranda and her route.
at the very start of bela's route mc can choose whether to join the student council or not. choosing no, obviously, ends her route but with miranda there's no choice to not be her assistant that would end the route. we do this anyway.
at the very end bela asks mc if she wants to date (even twice! "is it alright with you?" ... "does it mean you'll be my girlfriend?" (yes i memorized it)).
and it goes and goes through all of bela route.
so that's why mc choosing bela makes more sense (and imo is more romantic that way). they love each other consciously and not because they "have to because it's a destiny". they always make a choice and always choose each other.
god its SO perfect for their arcs, ties it together perfectly. after centuries and centuries of mc basically having no choice of who to love, she finally is able to on their 20th life. all because miranda got so paranoid and screwed destiny up by getting herself stuck in the past on her 19th life and stuck on the person that mc was.
credits to @isas-bathbombs we came up with this together‼️ i honestly don't know which thoughts here are mine and which are theirs lmao. and every time i say "i think" it actually means "we think"
