CW: discussion of sissy and hypno kink and sexual trauma from a trans perspective.

I will be blocking anyone who refers to me as a sissy.

The first porn I ever watched was sissy hypno. Being raised as a boy in a highly conservative environment, it was the first time I really felt like a girl. I was 13. I had started an obsession that would last about 11 years.

It took me years to process the and unlearn the beliefs about women and trans people that sissy hypno instilled in me. In some ways I am still doing that work.

I am going to share what helped me leave that space. My wife and I were discussing my sissy kink and she posed two statements.

If you are into sissy hypno because the idea of being feminine is humiliating, then you should examine that and your views on women.

If you find yourself jealous of trans women or cis woman, then you should do some reflection as to whether or not you might be trans.

At first I attributed everything to the first statement. I assumed it was internalized misogyny alone that was drawing me to sissy kink. It was easier to assume I was a chauvinist, then to consider that I might be trans.

It took me several years after that to break down what society, religion, and sissy kink had instilled in me about what it meant to be trans. It taught me that to be anything other than a straight man was something shameful and that I just had a fetish. That the very nature of wanting to be a girl was something predatory and perverted.

If you wish that you were a girl, then you are. A woman is a person that identifies as such. If you find yourself jealous of trans people, then you might be one of us.

As I was stepping away from sissy kink, I found it harder and harder to find hypno that did not involve it. Videos would bring it up half way in withnout any warning. I found myself going back to sissy hypno even after coming out as trans just because I wanted to scratch the hypno itch.

The best resource I've found for undoing damage from hypno is @pruning-the-minds-garden.

Found out last minute yesterday that one of my favourite local musicians, Lonely Carp, was playing in town so got myself in there for this gig. Hadn't heard of FK Alexander or Extra Life prior to yesterday but they were both great, the entire show was fantastic. Helps it was at the Banshee Labyrinth, definitely one of Edinburgh's best bars!

Definitely need to be getting myself along to more live music! It's never a bad time when I do.
