You need to draw and make art or else all the images will stay in your head and you'll get sick

I guess at the end of the day, we all need that light touch from time to time.
Create something for ourselves - art, a memory, a dream, a connection, a handwritten letter.
Intentionally counter the isolation and utter helplessness.

The silence despite the astronomical abundance that envelops my whole being reminded me how little I am. That in unison, I am both significant and insignificant.

That day, delicate and warm revelations about anything - unfamiliar places, hypothetical possibilities, people I love - reminded me that I am living in an extraordinarily unknown world.

eventually you realize you don’t want to die. you just don’t want to live the life you’re living. and slowly you try to create a life you want to live. just gotta start there.

I like my 2 pm's. These are alone times almost daily that I spend assessing the first half of my day and then reading books or watching movies and series. Sometimes I type random thoughts with the hope that my words would encapsulate my emotions and logic. Sometimes I put on pretty filters on some photos in my gallery (cats, food, friends, family). Oorrr just scroll my time and life away on reddit or FB paired with the anxiety that comes along with the media lol... Anything really. I kinda think I learn the most about myself at 2 pm more than any time of the day and yeah, I feel like learning about one's self is quite liberating. I like this tinge of freedom (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)

Kuya, Chie and I had a very nice lunch at Chowking last Wednesday despite the rumors and evidence that it has become real shitty lol. It was delicious! (◍•ᴗ•◍) Anyways, we came from NHMFC 'cause we inquired about the status of our home and also reported Mama's case. We discovered not-so-good news and it officially welcomed me to adulthood with a gut punch (despite being 27, I still feel like I don't know what I'm doing 89% of the time). "Life is hard" is what I thought. But the silver lining is that this situation forces me to make a commitment. To make a decision right here right now and have the courage to face the results and consequences of that decision. The problem is - being aware of this doesn't automatically mean I already know what to do. Losing my parents, I sometimes feel like the circumstances forced me to mature and give up some aspirations and goals, make sacrifices, grow up and make the right and tough calls. But the truth is, more often than not, I just feel like a 7 year old kid - lost and vulnerable, pretending to be an adult. I have become mindful of the fact that things won't always go one's way. Truth be told I'm just praying for the courage to live and navigate this life with grace in spite of some brokenness and regrets. But yeah, all in all, it was phenomenal to have that damn good Chinese-style fried chicken.

Just finished The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. I believe it had its moments. Personally, I almost didn't feel the transition from one event to another being dragging or too haphazard. It's a story smoothly developing and I must say the writing style and flow suited my liking. There were moments when it felt like everything made sense however there were also times when it felt like the author didn't know a thing or two about the reality he wanted to give the spotlight to, especially the most obvious one - depression - so it just appeared desperate and insensitive. It's such a one-dimensional way of looking at it ie. I am depressed = I wanna unalive. And perhaps, the reality of parenthood as well (not that I'm an expert on these). Several half-baked ideas being shoved to you just for the hell of it, masked with poetry to make em pretty. The main character has a degree in philosophy but it seemed like her thinking is reduced to a collection of quotes from her favorite philosophers. I mean, there's gotta be a better execution for such a likable concept ( I fuckin loved Everything Everywhere All At Once). All in all, the "supernatural" in this book totally gripped me (neuroscience and physics were the cherry on top) but the way it tackled complex issues that truly mattered was kind of negligent and superficial particularly because it created the impression that the main character has fixed her root life too passively.
