Nah honestly I think whatever the Echelon briefing is, it scared the absolute shit out of her and now she’s grieving Okafor AND has to worry about whatever craziness the CRM have told her. She’s out of the blue in charge of part of the military, and only got the position because Okafor died. I’d say whatever is in the echelon briefing it has rocked her right while her world was already spiralling.
thoughts on pearl thorne
i don't hate thorne, but i wonder what okafor saw in her compared to rick because they're so different. from what we've seen of rick and the little we know about okafor, they're both willing to go against the chain of command/status quo to make things better for their communities. okafor even said in the first ep that "being the monster to fight the monsters can't last." and then after he told them about the echelon briefing he continued to press that the crm needs to change.
on the other hand, thorne seemed all in on the crm after their first secret meeting with okafor. when the news showed what happened to omaha (a lie and cover up by the crm) her first instinct was that people on the outside did it instead of asking questions. then after she received the echelon briefing she seemed even more indoctrinated by the crm to the point where she wants to eliminate anyone she sees as threat to the republic's plan.
i just don't get her angle. A's are supposed to be leaders and free thinkers, but she's very much exhibiting follower behavior. i know she was in the military before, so maybe she's just following command like she always did. still doesn't make sense why okafor would lump her and rick together.

YES. I’m sick of hearing how “so unlike Rick” this is, how he’s changed so much etc etc BRO THE MAN IS TRYING TO KEEP EVERYONE ALIVE AS PER FLIPPING USUAL ARE WE REALLY THAT SURPRISED?!?!
While people are complaining about Rick's behavior I'm out here enjoying his character's internal and emotional journey....I loved the third episode and wished there was an extra episode to explore and delve deeper into his trauma.
We may not agree with his approach , but we can still grasp his decision-making process.
That man mutilated his hand to flee and reunite with his family, with no regard for his own life....He showed no concern for his own life while trying to escape from the CRM, stating that he would persist in his attempts. However, his entire demeanor changed the instant they made threats against his loved ones, the reason he severed his hand, the reason behind his attempts to escape from the CRM, the reason he didn't give up hope, and the reason he kept living even when he felt suicidal...
He was prepared to face death in his pursuit of family reunion, but unwilling to jeopardize their safety or lose them in the process. Because deep down inside, he's fundamentally unchanged. While his capabilities may have diminished and he may carry the burden of past trauma, Rick's commitment to safeguarding his family has remained steadfast.

YES. This right here is why I can't read books or watch shows with tourette's characters. It makes me cringe so damn hard ahhahaha if anyone knows any good ones please send them my way
How to write a character with tourettes (by someone with tourettes)
So here it is:
when writing a tic, don’t write “*tic*” write the actual thing out. such as “My tics acted up, causing me to punch my chest hard” or ““Fuck!” I ticced”
don’t suddenly remember the characters tourettes or use it for dramatic affect. yes, it can cause some dramatic moments in your story, but dont do the “oh fuck i forgot to write in their tourettes for the past ten chapters, hm well maybe i can make them twitch violently during a fight”
also, dont make their tourettes their entire character, were people, not walking disorders.
DO YOUR RESEARCH:
some basic facts include:
10% of tourettes havers have swearing tics
for it to be tourettes, it has to appear before age 18 or anytime from a traumatic brain injury
there are different types of tic disorders
comorbid disorders are common
TIC ATTACKS: they dont last two seconds and can be very traumatizing. they hurt like hell and tire the person out
Those are some basic things on how to write a character with tourettes/tics, feel free to leave more suggestions in the reblogs

Obsession is the greatest form of flattery. The most toxic, dangerous and horrifying form of flattery too, but flattery none the less.
PSA: If someone spends a hilarious, mid-boggling amount of time telling you how terrible you are at something, that means they're a secret fan.
No one spends that much time on something they hate.
Rest assured: someone loooooooooves you!

Six Sentence Sunday (or five paragraph Monday if you’re spicy)
Tapes of Us - Chapter 25
Is it 2 years in the making? Almost but not quite 👀
Tumblr media
Midway through his first class back at college for semester two, Jughead found himself completely unable to concentrate on his professor.
Instead, his computer’s cursor strayed away from the poem he’d downloaded as he grit his teeth and opened up Google. He typed into the search engine: Can you hallucinate seven months after a concussion? And waited for the instant flow of information.
The results weren’t giving him much optimism, but if the insanity of his life the previous year had taught him anything it was that he had to accept everything for what it was. And right now, his life was forcing him into the path of a person who had tried to frame his girlfriend for his murder.
Elle stirred in his arms and blinked up at him. When he looked down at her, he saw the tell-tale signs that she was about to start crying. Almost automatically, he reached into the side of his backpack and pulled a bottle out of the warmer. Elle hungrily accepted it just as she made a gurgle of annoyance.
He noted the side-eye glances some of his classmates gave him, but their attention quickly went back to the projector screen with which the professor attempted to explain her poetry analysis. He snuck a glance at Donna - but she wasn’t looking at him, merely smirking ahead.
