Hi, I have no idea how this question will come across but I want you to know that I deeply love all of the fic universes that you have created. (I started with Volatile chemistry back in high school and Meet the Family is one of my favorite go back and read once a year fics). I have also begun writing fanfics since that time, and I was wondering whether you were okay with me possibly using Marlon in a fic? I would say that this work was inspired by yours, but I adore his character and would love to mess around with him as a character if you’re willing. Thank you for considering it
I see writing fanfic sort of as playing in a sandbox with other people. I love it when I manage to inspire others, and I’m all for letting other people play with my characters in their own stories. The only thing I’m asking is that you mention that the character is borrowed from me (preferably with a link to my Ao3, but at least with my Ao3 name so people can find me) and that you send me a link to the fic so I can read it. I won’t tell you you wrote him wrong or anything like that, I just want to enjoy seeing your interpretation of him. :) So yes, go ahead. All my OCs are free to play around with in fanfic if they’re acknowledged as originally made by me and that I get to read any published work with them in it.
Lmao you’re an adult, you shouldn’t be using the word squick. Use trigger. Use your grown up adult words to explain how you feel instead of leaning on a cutesy uwu term that no one outside of tumblr uses. It’s embarrassing.
And this, dear fandom, is why censorship is A Bad Thing

Cason shared his statement on Twitter, referring to “Gender Queer” and other books that “may violate the Penal Code” as “criminal activity” that “should not be made available to children by the actual people who are tasked in educating them and keeping them safe from harm.”

In the letter, Krause included a list with the titles of roughly 850 books that were largely related to topics of sexuality, gender identity, race, and sexual health. An analysis of Krause’s list by The Dallas Morning News found that “of the first 100 titles listed, 97 were written by women, people of color or LGBTQ authors.”
You can call a lot of things “porn” and “criminal” if you just squint enough. It’s never only going to be the content you personally hate and deem “immoral”. Never.
“And here we were thinking that, you know, we were teaching you and all this time you were teaching us, about heart, about dedication, and about how gay love can pierce through the veil of death and save the day.”
