the funny thing about alan wake 2 going into it is ilmo and jaakko were never ONCE wrong about anything, with the cult of the tree esp like. the method of killing, and even jus' alan himself because with the ending of alan wake 2 having saga jus' shoot him, like, in a way yeah it does all end with him, he's the source, the dark place kept manifesting itself because of scratch, who is a part of alan, so it's like. while they got like misconceptions at best, lowkey a lot of the plot wouldn't have happened had they not been stopped in killing and disposing of nightingale
