Pip and Ravi, Stevie and Nate, Charlotte and Jamie, Daisy and Hazel have made me realise that I have a thing for smart reckless detectives and the protector of those chaotic detectives.

I can't pinpoint it but there's something really off about the whole Calloway sisters book series!

In Twisted series we never found out who was Ava's real father. His revelations in later parts would have made for a great twist. And imagine, if the father is actually a decent guy.

Took me until about halfway through college before I realized “study” means “play with the material in a variety of ways until you understand it” and not just “read the assigned chapters and do the homework” and I think that probably should have been discussed at some point prior to that.

as i grow older and face the different challenges that come with each new stage of life, i realize more and more how essential acceptance is for complete mental and emotional healing. acceptance for the way you look. acceptance for your personality. acceptance for the past. acceptance for how you were treated and how you reacted. acceptance for how you were raised. acceptance for every ending. acceptance for your decisions in life. no regrets, anger, disappontment, or bitterness; just a heart full of acceptance for God’s decree.

I am, like, a long running proponent of the "eat something and you'll feel better" crowd and am often one of the first people to suggest "maybe it's time for a snack before I get whipped into a frenzy" but I really do resent how instantaneous it is. like it'll feel like I'm having my worst day in months and then I'll start eating and literally before I even finish I'm like oh yeah the world is beautiful

actually i love growing older and learning how i work as a person like realizing what kinds of fabrics feel best on my skin or what brand of yogurt i like best or how I want to be touched. watching myself change, enjoying brussel sprouts when I used to hate them as a child, understanding why I got angry in that one conversation 10 years ago… there are so many mysteries inside me that i have yet to unravel and there will always be more and sometimes i think maybe its all worth it

"people show their true colours in life threatening situations" no, they show you what they act like when they're mortally terrified, an emotion notorious for literally turning your entire brain off to the point where people who go into those situations as a profession need to be literally trained on how to not have that happen

Some scary things are worth doing. Going outside, talking to people, public speaking, trying out something new, getting a job even tho you're unsure how it will go. You're a scared little plant but you can blossom into a beautiful, self assured tulip if you try being brave.

Push yourself to do the things that might take some extra time and discipline, but will help you grow in the long run. Journaling, cooking homemade meals, working out, stepping out of your comfort zone, confronting issues, completing tedious tasks. Self care isn’t always about providing comfort for yourself, it’s about doing the things you might not want to in the moment for the wellbeing of your future self.
