introducing... waking up in vegas flash fest ♥️

what is this?

an ao3-based formula 1 rpf flash fan fiction event for fics set in vegas OR centering the woke up married trope. how you use that setting or trope is up to you. alternate universes are welcome, so long as they meet either one of the two criteria.

fics will be due on december 16 at midnight, us west coast time. find out what time that is for your timezone here.

"flash" for this event is being used to refer to the length of time, which is just over 30 days. if you wish to write <1500 words, that is also welcome.

who can participate?

any f1 rpf writers who are interested in joining. whether this is your first or your four hundredth fest, please join in!

what is the word count minimum?

no wc minimum or maximum! be as verbose or as brief as you want to be!

how do i sign up?

no official sign up - simply add your fic to the collection when you are ready. chaptered fics are allowed and do not have to be complete in totality to be submitted :)

what are the benefits of adding my fic to the collection?

to create a collection of themed fics in one place. if interested writers have reservations about being added to a collection, please utilize the tag "#waking up in vegas fest" under additional tags on ao3.

is there anything i am not allowed to write?

there are no hard nos for this collection so long as everything is tagged adequately or is warned for in the author's note.

okay, but have you ran a fest before?

for the last four years, i have co-modded one of the largest k-pop rpf jukebox fests, emo k-fic fest, which averages around 100 fics per round for over 50 k-pop groups. in addition, i have run mini-events for friends, including fic exchanges and themed collections similar to this one for idol birthdays.

even if this ends up being just me and my two friends, thanks for reading this post—but i do hope you join us for this super low-stakes event.
