Varl carries a wounded Aloy to Stone's Echo after her first encounter with the Zeniths at Latopolis.

My heart absolutely breaks rewatching this scene because of how Varl is an absolute solid BFF, trying to do what's best for Aloy because he knows she has an inability to deal with her emotions, and her sense of duty driving her maddeningly. She has so many unresolved emotional issues and awkwardness lol. Man i miss that guy 💔😭.

Also Zo's intro. I always thought she looked like Jada Pinkett Smith 😅 She looks immaculate and i love her profession as Gravesinger.

Reasons I love this clip:

Seyka's look of wonderment appears again and it makes me think how she would react to see things from Aloy's world, once Aloy takes her to the Forbidden West and maybe back East. With how closed off the Quen are, all she probably knows is the Great Delta, the empty ocean, and Fleet's End. Aloy opens Seyka's world and I can imagine Seyka giving the same look upon seeing the mountains, the Daunt, a Tenakth settlement like Scalding Spear, or Plainsong. And especially Las Vegas at night. And the joy Aloy must feel watching Seyka experience things for the first time. Aloy opens Seyka's eyes, and changes her life and her priorities. Aloy experiences LIFE through Seyka's eyes.

This is right after they've both realized they're nuts about each other. It's a quiet knowledge on both of their faces, they know the other knows.

By handing her the diving mask, Aloy makes Seyka's life the biggest priority even though Seyka is the one who grew up around water. Aloy is also Seyka's comfort and reassurance, and she goes out of her way to care and be compassionate with Seyka, something that probably doesn't happen much in Seyka's life. You can tell from the beginning when Seyka shakes off compassion just after the chasm when she tells Aloy she doesn't have to comfort her. I imagine she is surprised when Aloy replies emphatically that she wants to help. Here, Seyka accepts Aloy's love language.
