public libraries are so sick. there are five books I want to read and they're all relatively new so they're only available in hardback which is so expensive but it just cost me $0 to place holds on them. five books for zero dollars. it requires nothing but clicking a button and then going to the library to pick them up when they're ready. zero dollars. that's crazy

It IS true that being on here gives you a tumblr accent. This morning my mother asked me something and i replied "i don't know i've never heard these words in that order" and she nearly choked laughing. It wasn't even that funny

Series with big cast of protagonists, but it’s revealed to the audience very early on that character A is a traitor who’s secretly working for the villains. They secretly sabotage missions, they leak information to the villains, they do tangible damage to the protagonists’ success, they possibly even hurt people, and the audience is prepared for them to be revealed as a traitor or redeem themselves or both.

And they do have a character arc — over the course of the series they continue to feel worse about trying to sabotage people who see them as a friend, and in one episode character A finally goes “Wait this is awful. I don’t want to do this anymore.” They cut contact with the villains and actually for real start helping the protagonists.

But character A never tells anyone that they were ever a traitor. To the rest of the protagonists nothing’s changed except that wow we’re having a lot more luck these days, isn’t that weird? They never apologize for working against the protagonists but they do work to change themselves and try to help people they’re warily calling friends.

#its not a great redemption but it is a redemption ARC #the character is more redeemed than they started #if it were real life they would still have some work to do #because they never made true amends #but yes it is a redemption arc

whenever I try to think Uther as a cruel Father, my mind would go to that scene where he carries him, crying. Fuck! The root of the whole problem is that he had a heart! Imagine him as a cruel man, vindictive but he wasn't heartless, if that had been, purge wouldn't have happened. He'd have moved and taken another wife, come to think of it, he didn't take another wife, nobody would have begrudge him, he was the king afterall, and one prince isn't enough to secure the bloodline and the throne. So yeah, Uther did love Arthur and Morgana, Morgana's betrayal was so deep he went mad man! Truly astounding. That a man who committed genocide was a human and had a heart and he loved his children. Truly, too much complexity

#uther was a man who didn’t do things halfway #and a man who had two major loves #those were his pride and his family #and as such his actions leapt between those two like a see saw flying up and down #his pride would get the best of him and he’d lock his own kid up #then his love would get the best of him and he’d cry like a child in the town square over his son’s body #back and forth #making him dangerous and unpredictable #the only thing those two loves agreed on was taking revenge for his wife’s death #he was turning himself into a monster #I love this character so much but no wonder his children hated him at times #uther pendragon #bbc merlin

Eliot and hardison are so good in the radio job. In a fun sense, eliot taking the beating to impress the cops, and hardison throwing together a plan out of nothing are both incredible. On a painful note, when Eliot screams Nate’s name as Nate lies there on the ground, and how hardison holds back the girls in the safe zone so Eliot can do his job…. So good. They all love that grumpy alcoholic!
