Hello! The canon lists onsite have all been updated to reflect who was approved in the first round of acceptances. If, for any reason, a member is unable to complete the application in the 7 days allotted time, the canon will be reopened for applications. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Applications: 3 Days Left!

Hello everyone! We have been BLOWN AWAY at the membership applications we've received and all the ideas you are sharing; this is going to be such a phenomenal mix of characters and we can't wait to get this thing started. We just wanted to give a small reminder that applications for our first round of acceptances will be closing in three days at 11:59PM CST on March 30th, 2024. Staff will review apps, with acceptances being given on March 31st and the site link dropping/site opening on April 1st. Accepted members will have 7 days to complete their on-site profile and shipper before the role will be open again. Applications will then be open for round 2, closing on April 25th with second round acceptances happening on May 1st. If you have any questions, you know what to do!

Applications Now Open

It's been a long time coming... Alright folks, it's the time that I know I've been waiting for: Applications are now open (click!) As a reminder, membership applications will take place via GoogleForm and consists of some player/writing related questions, as well as some initial character creation thoughts/ideas. For our first round acceptances, applications will be open until March 30th. At that point, staff will review applications and send acceptances on March 31st. The site link will be available starting April 1st, and accepted members will have one week (seven days) to post their shipper/completed profile application on site before the role is opened again. The next round of acceptances will immediately open on April 1st, with applications closing on April 25th and new members being accepted on May 1st. If you have any questions, drop a note in our discord or shoot an ask here!

Staff Update: Welcome Evy!

Hello everyone! Another small announcement with some exciting news. As shared on our site buzz previously, there have been some beta testers of sorts who have been helping with things, bouncing ideas that you have all now seen on the buzz, and general testing stuff as this labor of love has been worked on for the last couple of months. With the exciting rate that the buzz has grown in the last few days (I won't lie, ya'll have me hyped and nervous in the best way!), and me being just one person, I want to make sure that things are addressed with good turnaround time so you aren't waiting and have some more general hands to help out. All that being said I'm super elated to announce that Evy will be joining me on staff! evy is also in the GMT-timezone, which will be super helpful for all of our friends across the pond and otherwise since I'm landlocked here in Chicago. Depending on how the growth of the site goes once we are open, there may be a staff search post-opening so keep your eyes pealed! in the meantime, please welcome Evy to staff!

Do you have a site-wide family tree, to be able to see all of the connections?

I haven't built one yet, but can try to get something created if it would be helpful! I created a quick little cheat sheet below for other character overlaps with other families: - The Lancaster and Anderson families have a long-standing rivalry with one another, recently exacerbated by Lancaster (59) becoming chief legal council for the dispensary stores that Holloway nee Anderson (55) and Holloway (54) has recently opened up. - Cheng (33) has broken away from the family model of pharmaceuticals and science and is in talks with Whitman (33) and Whitman (33) to open their own fashion Haus in Manhattan. - Harrington (39) and Montgomery (48) have recently turned heads with their quick and publicized engagement. It is not uncommon for members of the various families to date one another, but this is the first public merger of families that many are viewing as a power play, combining the wealth and power of both dynasties. - Hudson (46) and Hamilton nee Williams (43) are longtime friends since undergrad, working together to find green energy and sustainable resources for their independent family legacies. - Johnson-Fitzgerald (52) and Ramirez (57) have created an alliance of sorts to try and mutually benefit both family's source of business, though many say the relationship is shaky at best. - Monroe nee Johnson-Fitzgerald (47) runs her own Michelin star restaurant as the Executive Chef, and hired Malik (38) as her head caterer. - Lancaster (87) has since retired, but was made a federal judge in New York City by Winston (91) when he was President. This relationship has now turned into a alleged feud, as Lancaster (64) has announced her bid for the Democratic ticket in the upcoming presidential election - one that Winston (58) is rumored to be running against her for the nomination. - Jones (61), who married into the Lancaster family, has been an avid supporter of Ramirez (52) and has invested in her art gallery over the years. Of course, this is by no means an exhaustive list! As you all are creating your characters and as more plots are being written and discovered on site, the alliances and relationships between the two families are bound to overlap in more ways as groups are forged while others are obliterated. Additionally, there are other potential pairings/overlaps that can be created (such as those who work at Mt. Sinai, those who are involved at NYU as either professors or students, etc) as well as the plethora of characters with open occupations. The sky is really the limit here for you! :) I hope this helps, but if you need any more info, please ask!

Aesthetic Previews

Here are some aesthetic previews of the site, with a beautiful skin by Hanna of @hannacodes and additional fabulous templates by Sibyl, with skin edits from Athena of @athenacodes and myself! Please note things are still being worked on and may be subject to change by opening. For graphics on site, you will need the following:

Avatar: 220x400

Profile Image: 400x450

2 Icons: 50x50 (will resize)

Shipper Image: 550x320

There will also be various templates to use on site (Tinder, Instagram, Twitter, etc) that will require other graphics based on which templates you're using. Upon membership acceptance, writers will have 7 days to complete their on-site freestyle profile application (minimum word count of 250 words, with premade templates/prompts including aesthetic images, color palettes, likes/dislikes, etc and code stylings available on site) and shipper (standard character blurb/overview and relationship sections). Hey, I noticed that there are no unplayable kids in any of the families, is that the case for brevity & creativity or would you really rather not have kids in the premise at all?

The canon list was simply built around the playable characters, and the youngest a character on site can be is 21. Of course, if there were some NPC children that you wanted for a character that were young, that can be included and discussed in your app as well. Please just make it explicit that it is something you would like to be adding, as that would be something we would need to document for other family members as well!

how will applications work? will they be done onsite (creating a profile) or will site access be provided after the app is accepted?

If you check out our FAQ, it's explained there! But for a quick summary - the membership application that goes live tomorrow (!!!) is a GoogleForm that consists of some member based questions on RP preferences and styles, as well as some initial character questions to see your ideas and what sort of plots you're looking for. Upon acceptance, you'll have one week to join the site and post your shipper and fill out your profile!

The moment many of you, including me, have all been waiting for! Here is the link for you to join our Discord. The Discord is mandatory for membership, and will server as the central hub for member communication and community building. As we are a semi-private site, a bulk of the channels are unavailable until member acceptance, but that doesn't mean we don't want to get to know you! There are still lots of channels to hang out in and get to know one another. Additionally, there are some channels dedicated to pre-joining discussions for sharing ideas with one another to build up their prospective characters. Hope to see you there soon!
