"You know I can break your jaw with my bare fist, right? Well, you should see the gauntlets they fight with here. The damage I could do to your pretty face wearing those..." She smirks and gives his arm a squeeze that might have been a little harder than necessary. He might be a son of a bitch but she's not going to do any real damage. Not yet at least.
Oh gods, he might actually be her dearest friend. Here in Fodlan at least. No one could ever come close to her partner and confidant Benny but it's been far too long since she's seen him. Fuck she needs to get out more and make new friends.
"Dearest friend, huh? How lucky I must be," she adds with an eye roll.

“Oh really?” Charlotte purrs and slides her arm through his. “You make enough, do you? I’ll have to keep that in mind for when you inevitably stick your stupid nose into my business. Maybe I’ll start charging you for every potential match your meddling costs me!”
She really doesn’t want to admit to Niles that she’s had terrible luck finding a wealthy suitor here. She doesn’t want him to have the satisfaction of knowing she’s struggling. And yet he is one of the few friends (she hates admitting that as well) she has here and it really would feel good to vent.
“The men here are idiots, Niles. Idiots. I’m hot as fuck. My cooking is bussin. I go out of my way to do them favors and still nothing. I’m definitely not overestimating them. They’re morons.”
“It sounds to me like they’re ruining their own chances before I can even meddle,” Niles chuckles, guiding her to begin a slow walk. He knows how this little game of theirs works; sweet, girlish Charlotte, spending her time with a man like him? Oh, the rumors are bound to spread like wildfire. Jealous suitors, noble would-be saviors—they’d circle around her like crows to a carcass.
“But I’m sure you’ll figure something out. If not—well, I’ll think about sending a coin your way when you’re an old crone with a little cat or two,” he teases. “It’ll be a favor from your dearest friend.”

She drags her eyes down the front of him and shrugs. “You could be. How much is Leo paying you now?” She thinks she’d like being with someone who she doesn’t need to hold back around. Someone she can swear at and who doesn’t treat her like a fragile flower. There are more important things than what she wants, however.
“I hate to disappoint you, but I’ve got no more secrets left for you. You know why I need to marry rich. You know I can tear you limb from limb. And you know I swear like a motherfucker. There’s really nothing left. Look at me, Niles. I’m pretty bare as it is.”
“Oh, I can see that,” he grins. “The retainer of a prince will always make enough, Charlotte; you don’t need to worry. But half the men here are nobles of some sort; the other half, princes. Kings, even. Are you having a little trouble catching one?”
As if that could ever be possible. Charlotte knows how to appeal to men; Niles has seen it hundreds of times by now, and he’s been more than happy to ruin quite a number of those potential matches. It’s always fun to see her sputter when he throws her off her game.
“Probably because you overestimate them. At this point, I’m even willing to bet they’ll think meeting eyes from across the classroom will count as a proposal.”

Hmmm this is a lot harder than I thought it would be. Would Charlotte rather do it at her place or her partner's? I see her as being very tidy and preferring to not make a mess at her own place. I think she would also like the option to be able to bolt whenever she wants and not have to kick the other person out. So I guess she would prefer it to be at her partner's. But she's not going to say no for her place either.

⛔ - How would they signal their partner that they are not into something during sex?
So I am thinking specifically of the Charlotte/Niles S support right now.
Niles: To put it in another way... I want to tie myself to you.
Charlotte: I appreciate the offer, but that really isn't my thing, Niles.
Girl straight up is like no bondage bitch. It kills me every time. But yeah. She has no qualms just straight up being like no I don't want that. Very matter of fact about it and then just lets it go so it's not an awkward thing. Though I think that things she's not really into she could eventually be down to trying if it was something her partner really enjoyed.

I hate tumblr
Did this work? Ok yes it did.
Unless Charlotte is decided to be a mom of one of the Fates kids (which I’d totally be down for or not whatever), my girl is still a virgin.  I don;t think it’s so much that she doesn’t want to but it’s just never really come  up.  She’s so concerned with landing herself a rich hubby but she really hasn’t gotten far at all with any of the men she’s gone after.  I think she would be kind of awkward and nervous if things progressed past the flirting/go on a date stage.  Girl is all talk and looks.  She’s been too focused on her goals and training to really care about doing the do.

“That son of a bitch!” she hisses through clenched teeth. She knew that last letter she received from her parents sounded off. They’d lied to her! Before she left for Fodlan, she made them promise to stop being so damned self sacrificing toward her. It was just like them to try and hide something like that to keep her from worrying or rushing home.
Charlotte gives him an uncharacteristically soft smile. He had teased her about a price but for confirmation that her parents are alive and well, she’s more than happy to pay up. “I probably should be concerned with how you know so much but thanks, Niles. Name your price and it’s yours.”
The tender moment doesn’t last long as the subject is changed. “Trying to figure out your competition, eh Niles?”
“My competition?” he echoes with a laugh, “Is that to imply you’d consider me in the running? Oh, if this is the prize I get for finding out a little piece of information, I can’t wait to delve deep into your filthiest secrets to see what else I can unearth. You wouldn’t be opposed to laying yourself bare for me, would you?”
Oh, he’s certain that she rather would! But it’s hard enough to help himself when she looks at him like that, as if he’s actually done her a favor worth being grateful for. He almost wishes she’d return to the threats and the anger for ruining her chances for a prosperous marriage; at least he can handle those pains over the weird feeling of being thanked for being intrusive…

“Best of friends? Is that all I am to you? I thought we had something special!”
It’s fun to tease. And it certainly is easy. She supposes she makes it pretty easy for him too. She does genuinely care about him and is rather curious about his sudden arrival here.
“So tell me, how is everything back home? I know you’ve got your nose everywhere snooping on everyone. Do you know anything about my parents? They always tell me everything is fine in their letters but well, I don’t know if I’d trust them to really tell me if anything is up. I should probably visit them. Benny too. I’m sure he’s lost without me.”
“Asking for gossip already, Charlotte? Even knowing that nothing comes for free?” Were it anyone else, he might mean it—but for her? Niles wouldn’t mind divulging a little information, especially if she’s the reason he’d even cared to look.
“Your parents are fine, as they say,” he continues with a wave of his hand. “Your father nearly had a little run-in with bandits, but I was told he made it out unscathed.” All it took was a little forced favor, nothing terribly interesting, and certainly nothing she had to know about. A little bird whispered in his ear, and he whispered back; sometimes, that’s all it really takes. “As for Benny, you can rest easy knowing that he’s doing quite well, too. Which brings me the chance to ask—how have you been? I’ll admit, I’m surprised you don’t have suitors begging for your hand, here. This lot seems to be brimming with the kind of nobility that would trip over their own feet for you.”

Charlotte shrugged. "The confidence and the blue hair. You have to have noticed it too. What's up with all the blue haired nobles anyway?"
Here she thought Ike was the exception to the blue haired noble rule. It had to be just her luck that there was another one. Ah well. At least she could let loose and get a few decent whacks of her axe in now.
"Call me Charlotte." She grinned and grabbed a hatchet of her own. It was much smaller than what she was used to carrying and she wasn't exactly sure what she was supposed to do with something so puny. "I prefer my fists but well, we don't have gauntlet fighters back home so axe it is!"
Hacking and Hatchets [Charlotte & Priam]
It was difficult fighting the urges to fight and show off that sometimes crept to the forefront of Charlotte’s brain. Ah it would be so much easier if it wasn’t so unbecoming for a woman like her to kick so much ass! An axe carving competition could potentially be a way to quell the desire to destroy while still appearing demure. Art was delicate work and while Charlotte did not have a delicate hand, it couldn’t be that difficult, right? Just hack away and it ends up as something.
As if reading her mind, someone called out to her and invited her to join in on the carving fun. She took a look at his log and the grip on his axe and scoffed in response. “Yeah, no kidding.” Shit no fuck blue hair usually meant some sort of fancy pants lord. “I mean, you must be kidding, milord! Whatever that is supposed to be looks simply lovely!” Phew that was a close one but Charlotte was slick as ever. He’d probably buy that.
“I’m just a dainty flower but if it would please milord I would be happy to help! You use those big strong muscles for the heavy stuff and I’ll lend a delicate touch.”
Priam was glad someone answered his call. While he preferred working alone, in this case the extra pair of eyes would help. He didn’t mind doing the grunt work of it, but what to carve. Artistic direction wasn’t a strong suit of his. The woman who approached him seemed confident, but then he had no idea what to make of her when she spoke,
Milord?
“Ha!” He barked with a deep laugh from his chest. “No one’s tried to call me something like that for awhile. Gotta admit, it always surprises me, to equate confidence with nobility. No titles. I’m just Priam.” At least, he assumed it was his commanding posture that often led to the mistake of people thinking he was noble. Blue hair didn’t mean blue blood, either. Even if he had been born with a trace of nobility inside of him, as bizarre a concept that was, he would still shun the idea that he needed a title. Abilities spoke for a man’s worth.
“Dainty flower, eh.” Priam scratched his head, hatchet hanging loosely in his other hand. “You got a name?” He looked back at the stump he’d procured, barely touched except for the bark he’d gotten off of it so far. “I can do anything you need, sure. Don’t know what you mean about being delicate, though. That doesn’t mix too well with axes last I checked. Are you just learning how to use one?”

“I’ll be honest, I’m picturing you right now.” Charlotte snickers and walks a pair of fingers up his arm. “All done up like a bougie schoolboy in one of the Academy uniforms!”
Cackling with delight, she elbows him mostly gently in the side. As much as she’s teasing, she is having fun trying to imagine the thief all cleaned up. It’s even more entertaining thinking about him sitting through one of Leo’s classes. She might just have to find an excuse to sit in on that.
Oh, he has absolutely no doubt that he’s set up for failure, here. He has no formal education to speak of. The longest he’s held a book was to steal it. But he has to try, because he knows how it’ll look otherwise: terribly on him, which doesn’t matter at all, and pitifully on Leo. For his sake, Niles has to make things work—either by playing by the rules, or, as he’s wont to do, by dipping beyond their boundaries.
(Sometimes—most of the time—all that matters is getting the job done. The journey will matter in the moment, but the destination is what stays.)
“Is that how you’d like me? A bougie schoolboy, come crawling to you in hopes that you’d spare some of your time for some special tutoring?” Ha. He doesn’t doubt she’s already caught a good number of students like that. “Please, give me a little credit. I might not look the part, but I won’t perform that terribly. Have I not given you enough reason to trust me? Ah, and here, I thought we were the best of friends…”

ashenprofessor:
The first rule of fight club
Looking across to the list of participates listed on the chalk board next to the ring, she spotted the knight’s name among them. Well that answered her own question. A ladies night to boot, tempting.
‘This is a bad idea’
Sothis’ chiding chimed in, knowing what the professor intended to do next. ‘Not listening’ she responded.
“A similar reason as you, I believe.” She told Charlotte “I heard say of fighting to be had down here, off the record naturally and wanted in. It’s been a while since I’ve had a good brawl. I take it you feel the same.”
Byleth led the way over to the sign-up table to add her own name to the pool. Just in time too as  the announcer entered the ring, drawing the crowds attention. “Sign ups are now closed. The opening rounds of tonight’s competition will begin!”
While waiting to hear who her first opponent would be, she leaned in towards Charlotte and whispered. “Good luck. May the best fighter win"
Charlotte's heard rumors about Byleth's ferocity as a fighter. Everyone has. She was rather curious about how the woman would fare. Byleth didn't look all that intimidating but Charlotte knew more than most how deceiving looks could be.
The first few matches went about the way Charlotte expected. A pair of students swung some poorly timed punches at each other and probably ended up doing more damage to their own selves rather than their opponents. Then a few of Charlotte's fellow knights were up. Their match was definitely more entertaining but still nothing too thrilling.
The audience began getting restless, itching for some real entertainment. Knowing he had to do something to keep the people interested and betting, the announcer grabbed Charlotte by the wrist and led her out into the makeshift fight right.
"Do we have a treat for you tonight! Presenting the lovely Miss Charlotte!"
Whoops and hollers greeted her as she struck a few poses. With a wink, she blew a kiss and giggled. "Uh oh, go easy on me, okay? I'm a delicate little flower!"
Byleth was dragged in next. "Facing Charlotte is the mysterious Professor Byleth!"

As much as she’s giving him a hard time, she is glad to see him here. With his penchant for snooping, Niles is sure to have some interesting gossip from back home. He might drive her completely mad but for some reason she keeps coming back for more.
“You know,” she drawls, “I heard a little rumor that you’re enrolled as a student? I’m having a hard time picturing you as the studious type.”
“You wound me, Charlotte,” Niles says, placing a hand over his heart. “Perhaps I simply wanted a demonstration. Between us, I’d say you’re far more talented at giving people something worthwhile to look at.”
Besides, he’ll gladly take that little verbal jab when the alternative is finding himself crushed like an insect beneath her heel. He doesn’t make it a habit to underestimate the people he meets—even a starving little boy can hide a dagger beneath the rags of his clothes, after all—but her strength still surprises him, sometimes.
“In any case, you’ve heard right; ol’ Niles is going to be hitting the books, whether you can imagine it or not.” He takes the opportunity to lean in, then, his grin sharp and teasing. “Anything else you’ve pictured with me?”

See, this is the thrilling—and absolutely terrifying—thing about Charlotte: beneath that veneer of a sweet, cutesy young woman is an absolute she-devil, with a grip harder than iron and more strength in her limbs than a wyvern. He’s actually half-certain that if there was ever a fight between Charlotte and such a beast, he’d be tempted to put his money on her. (Or, okay, maybe the wyvern; Charlotte has a reputation to maintain, after all. But away from prying eyes? Oh, it’ll be the easiest money he’s ever made—and Niles has made a lot of easy money.)
“Okay, let’s not be too hasty,” he tries to reason, immediately holding his hands up in front of himself in defense. “I know you like it rough, Charlotte, but I wouldn’t have been opposed to a little audience—"

“Truly?” His grin turns positively wicked. How can he help himself? It’s far more thrilling than playing with fire. A fire is already lit; he already knows that it will burn. But this? This feels more like striking rock with a blade, trying to get that one spark to start a fire. Which strike will it be, Charlotte? One, two, three, four.
“Lovely, perhaps,” Niles says, talking louder as he steps back, easing closer towards the group of students. “Hm, but it’s a little odd, isn’t it? How your natural charm only seems to attract all the gentle, rich noblemen around us, with no regard to the few commoners who attend?”
Her hand catches his wrist before he strays too far and yanks him back to her side.  She’s stronger--they both know this--but she’d rather not flex on it for a crowd if she doesn’t have to.
