Great (but long) story of spring. Another double surprise from my daughter’s lucky ewe! This ewe has lambed three times in one year, giving us 5 lambs all on her own. This last lambing was tough and we almost lost her. The vet has been here, she got her shots and she’s also on a daily shot of sugar water and eggs. She’s not the greatest mothers, never was, and has now also very little milk, which is why we’re supplementing with extra bottles. Farm life seems contagious, as my mum (a true city girl) has also taken to it and is feeding one of the twins with my daughter. This is the ewe’s first day out in pasture, and the grass already has worked wonders. The lambs are strong and healthy. They are now all snug in the shed for the night and will be out again tomorrow, if the day is dry. Also, don’t miss our very nosy chicken in the pic!
