OH, HONEY! STRUGGLING WITH DRY, ITCHY, IRRITATED OR ECZEMA-PRONE SKIN? _______________________________________________ Two weeks ago, I was fortunate to get away for the weekend and headed upstate NY, about 3 hours out of the City. I took a bunch of new skincare products with me to test drive. Among them were two honey-infused creams from indie brand Eczema Honey. It was colder upstate than it is down here in Brooklyn and it was the perfect opportunity for me to try these two richer face creams. . The Concentrated Cocktail Renewal Cream is a deliciously rich moisturizer that feels like thick whipped cream on the skin. (Minus the stickiness, of course!) It’s loaded with, well, a cocktail of non-fragrant plant oils that help soothe, replenish and restore the skin barrier including bio-compatible Squalane and Shea Butter. Humectants honey, aloe, Glycerin, Saccharide Isomerate and Sodium Hyaluronate (the salt form of Hyaluronic Acid) help prevent TEWL to keep skin hydrated. . Even more, I appreciate its blend of pro-skin health anti-aging actives, among them Niacinamide, Bakuchiol, Resveratrol and Retinal. Good stuff! . More unique and far richer is the @eczemahoneyco Original Skin-Soothing Cream — a serious eczema treatment. I’ve only had one bout of eczema (in 2018) but I know people who suffer from chronic eczema and it can be tough – and very, very itchy. This soothing balm with 1% Colloidal Oatmeal, honey, olive and almond oils was “voted one of The Best Eczema Products to Relieve Itch by Allure”. . The texture is everything. The Ordinary just introduced an oil-based, water-free version: Salicylic Acid 2% Anhydrous Solution. Like so many of The Ordinary’s products, the formula uses Squalane as a base, at ingredient number one of ten. . What does anhydrous mean and what the difference between The Ordinary’s Salicylic Acid 2% Anhydrous Solution and the original Salicylic Acid 2% Solution? .
