more tim laughlin headcanons of mine (cause a few people asked). most of these are as if tim was living now in a modern setting!!

tim has a cat!! he adopted one when he first arrived in san francisco. the shelter is right around the corner from his apartment, and he just couldn’t help himself. she’s very clingy with him and follows him all around his place, and he names her salem!! when hawk is there, tim finds him asleep on the couch with salem curled up on his chest more times than he can’t count.

he adores the east coast, specifically the upper region (new england + new york). him and hawk take little trips up to cape cod every summer. they rent the same house every year, a nice place in eastham that’s a 2 minute drive from their favorite beach. when the tide goes out, tim always manages to convince hawk to walk out real far with him. hawk gets stuck on seashell duty. (he holds them while tim picks them up.)

while they’re in the cape, they always take drives to tim’s favorite light houses. tim has a very big thing for lighthouse, okay? (no… i’m not just giving tim my own interests… what ever do you mean?) but they also go to provincetown!! they walk down the pier. they go into cuffey’s and get new, matching cape cod sweatshirts every year. they eat at one of the restaurants there. they hold hands the whole time and press laughs against each others mouths as they kiss because they’re just so. fond of each other. and tim tastes like the strawberry ice cream hawk bought him at lewis brothers ice cream.

the tattoo he has on his arm isn’t the only one he has.

when he’s writing or drawing, he’ll often chew the ends of the pencil or pen when he’s paused to think about his next move.

everytime he picks up skippy peanut butter in the store, it makes him smile. maybe a little too much.

he has a ridiculous amount of playlists on spotify. his taste is wide ranged, but his favorite artists are ethel cain, bon iver, novo amor, lord huron, and current joys.

when he gets really anxious he tends to bite his nails or chew really hard at his bottom lip. hawks has to take his hands away from his mouth and wipe blood off his lips more times than he’d like to admit.

he’s very reserved/shy until people open up to him. and then you can’t get him to stop talking—mayor of yap city, he is. (i love him.)

he’s deeply into paranormal podcasts/videos/films. (he has a crush on dean winchester.)

pizza is something he is ridiculously passionate about. hawk finds it to be quiet amusing when tim rambles on about how no pizza place on the west coast could ever compare to the pizza in the upper east coast.

forever stuck on “sweet kenny, he loved beautiful things.” and how connected kenny and tim really are. kenny was the first boy hawk ever loved. kenny was drawn to that paperweight on a senior trip, because he loved beautiful things. and when tim comes to hawk’s apartment for the first time, he spends a few moments looking around. brushes his hand over an expensive chair, glances at a note on hawk’s desk with a fond smile. but the first real thing he’s drawn to is the stupid fucking paper weight. because tim also loves beautiful things. and hawk is also so, deeply in love with him. and hawk calls tim sweet all throughout this godforsaken show. and the look on hawk’s face in the last frame tells us all we need to know: he too understands that kenny and tim are going to be the men that will always have space in his heart. that just like kenny, tim is sweet. loves beautiful things. loves hawk. and now that paperweight is forever interweaved with the memory of both the men hawk loved too.

this scene will never fail to absolutely ruin me. hawk was literally just home—his parents home, his childhood home—where he matter-of-factly told his homophobic father to die. where he told his mother, “there is someone now.” where she looked at him in a blissful kind of silence, one without judgement, and told him: “i’m glad.” because she knows. and after everything, she wants her son happy. and then he gets in his car, drives hours back to tim. to his real home. in the middle of the night, nonetheless. could’ve so easily just went back to his own place after what happened between him and his father, but instead he drives straight to tim. straight home. because he needed to see him. he needed to be home.
