@dangit-jacques​ I’m in the same boat, or bed rather.^^ My mom’s cats have been glued to my side and as soon as I sit or lay down they are on me like glue. Makes getting up to go to the bathroom difficult when you have two pairs of eyes glaring reproachfully at you, lol.^^

Wow the weather forecast wasn’t kidding when they said the “Arctic blast” would be hitting my area around 8:00 this morning. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced such a rapid temperature change in such a short amount of time before. I was walking out of the grocery store this morning when the cold front literally blew in. The temp went from above freezing (light jacket) to below freezing (winter coat)in a matter of minutes. O_o. I guess winter in Texas.

I’m just glad I got all my errands done and I’m off for a few days. 😁. Stay safe everyone

Extended Fan-made Cut of Inspector Gadget (1999)

The amazing Slayer Santiago made an extended cut of the movie featuring lots of deleted scenes and some photos. He also added effects and music from the IG1983 to preserve the spirit of the original series. He did such a great job, you just have to see it.

He also made remixed versions of the movie theme and ‘I’ll Be Your Everything’, be sure to check them out too.

THE THREE MUSKETEERS Trailer 4K (2023) Eva Green, Vincent Cassel

This looks amazing, and from what I can gather a closer adaptation to the novel. The cast looks stunning and while I love the BBC version of the musketeers this looks just as amazing. Plus they’re splitting it into two parts. Can’t wait to see this.

Another update

Hey there everyone, there's no easy way to say this - I found out last month that I have advanced cancer. I'm recovering from a full hysterectomy and also undergoing chemo/radiation treatment. This all came as a huge shock to me as I've never had any major health issues before now. I don't know what the future will hold or when I'll get back to writing, but I wanted to let all of my readers know how much I appreciate every one of you. Please keep me in your thoughts and hopefully by the summer I'll be stronger and back on my feet.  :)

What I’m thankful for...

A bit late, I know, but I’m feeling much better today and wanted to post some positivity with all the craziness going on in the world right now. 

I’m grateful for:

Being alive.

My mother - without her I don’t know what I’d do right now.

My job and my coworkers.

My friends.

My readers and followers on this crazy Inspector Gadget obsession of mine.^^

All of the new people I’ve met on Tumblr.

Being able to have a cup of coffee in the morning.

My mom’s cats, who despite being mostly people-hating have decided to make camp in my bedroom while I recover from surgery.^^

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey everyone! I’m at home healing and resting after major surgery and I just wanted to wish everyone out there a safe and relaxing holiday! Whether or not you celebrate Thanksgiving I hope you’re staying safe and warm, especially with this crazy weather we’re having! I also wanted to give a big “thank you” to all my readers and followers - I’m still writing as it’s a nice distraction and I hope to get some more things posted with the holiday break coming up.

Update

Hey guys, if you could send any positive vibes/prayers/thoughts my way that’d be appreciated. I had another CT scan a few days ago and I have a large cyst on my ovary, which explains the constant pain I’ve been having. I have another doctor’s appointment on Monday so wish me luck.  :(

@bostoniangirl85- your post about November got me thinking about Dia De Los Muertos and All Saints day. I like playing Halloween ambiance/music videos during October. So I looked to see if there were any Day of the Dead inspired ambiance. Here are some of the ones I found.

I actually keep my Halloween decor up all through November since November is considered the month of the dead in a lot of cultures. I was raised Catholic and even though I’m not religious now that I’m grown I do love the idea of All Saints and All Souls’ Day. So for me Halloween kicks off an entire month of remembering the dead/spooky stuff.  :)

Or, I just want a reason to celebrate Halloween a while longer (that, and I’m not ready in any way for the Christmas madness to start!).

Scene from “A Man’s Worth” (Inspector Gadget-80s fanfic)

I haven’t abandoned this fic and definitely plan to finish it at some point. In the meantime here’s a scene near the end of the story that definitely hits the feels. Posted in the spirit of whumptober - enjoy!  :)

They had been spending nearly every day at the beach.

Gadget leaned back on the beach towel he was stretched out on, looking relaxed in his swim trunks and t-shirt. “I, er…borrowed them from the INTERPOL lab.” Gadget slid the shades down his nose and arched his brows playfully at Penny. “What do you think? Do I look like a suave, debonair secret agent?” Penny laughed, glad to see that his easy-going humor was coming back to him. “Not quite, but the green does look good on you, Uncle.” She pulled her swimsuit cover on before slowly sitting down next to her uncle, trying not to wince as her still-healing ribs twinged. Gadget noticed anyway and quickly sat up, helping her to settle onto the towel next to him. Penny gave him a grateful smile before pulling her a book out of her bag. Seeing that she was having trouble finding a comfortable position Gadget gently pulled her in front of him so that she could lean back against his chest, safely bracketed by his arms and legs. Penny gave him another small, almost shy, smile before returning to her book.

They sat in silence for a time, Penny reading and Gadget happy just to listen to her heartbeat and doze in the summer heat. Occasionally Penny would pause and point out an interesting detail to him.

He noticed that Penny was watching him with a gentle, thoughtful expression.

“What are you thinking about?” he asked softly.

“I was just thinking...well, wondering…” She paused for a moment. “Are you happy, Uncle?” Gadget thought on the past three months, on everything, really, and came to one conclusion.

“Uncle Gadget?”

“Yes,” he said quietly, reaching up to run the back of his fingers down her smooth, warm cheek. “Yes, I’m happy, Penny.”

She smiled in relief and he stroked his thumb across her cheekbone before sliding his hand to the back of her head, gently tugging her down so that he could kiss her forehead. Penny’s hair brushed against Gadget’s face in a soft golden curtain as she bent her head. Gadget wrapped his arms around her waist and laid back down on the towel, drawing his niece down with him. Penny lay beside him, her upper body resting against his chest and her ear pressed over his heart.

“What about you?” he asked after a few moments of peaceful silence. “Are you happy, Penny?” “Yes, Uncle,” she murmured. Gadget exhaled deeply, feeling more peaceful than he could ever recall being. He kept one arm loosely wrapped around Penny, using his other hand to stroke her back with featherlight touches. She was still too thin but she was recovering, he reminded himself as he ran his fingertips over her shoulders. Her skin was soft and warm and he hugged her close, Penny returning the embrace just as tightly.

Inspector Gadget (80s) fanfic preview: “Sweet Dreams”

A long overdue fic preview for you guys. As always, I hope you enjoy this preview and thank you again to everyone for supporting this crazy fangirl here.^^

“What do you mean, ‘fired’? I’m under contract!”

The security guard sighed and struggled not to roll his eyes. He was tired and wanted to go home. He held out the paperwork. “Just what it says here, buddy.” “You’ve got fifteen minutes to get your things together.” Doctor Ezekiel scowled darkly at the security guard’s retreating figure. 

He tore up the notice and tossed the shreds over his shoulder before 

“Fired, eh? Too dangerous, am I? Unethical, my research is? Science wouldn’t be where we are today if we didn’t push boundaries.”

“Doctor Ezekiel?” “What do you want now? I’m already out!” “I’m not with your employers. Or should I say, former employers.” That made Ezekiel pause. He blinked over his rain-spattered glasses at the man standing in front of him. The man was wearing a dark, simple suit and shades despite the darkening clouds. Ezekiel figured he had to be with the government. “Who are you? You some sort of spy in that getup?” “Hardly. My employer is in the, shall we say…private sector. He’s been following your research for some time now, Doctor.”

Ezekiel shifted and cast a quick glance at the storm clouds. “Hurry up and say what you want. I’m not standing out in the rain all day!” “Of course. But perhaps we could talk on the way to my employer’s office?” As if by magic (or rather, perfectly executed timing for dramatic effect), a sleek black car pulled up besides them. Ezekiel didn’t miss that the car didn’t have a plate or stickers.

“And if I decide to pass on the ride?” The man smiled. “You won’t. Now get in.” Scowling darkly, Ezekiel decided he didn’t have much choice as the rain was beginning to fall in earnest.

He hurried into the car and once settled leaned back against the leather seat. At least he was warm and dry, at least for now.

“So who is this employer of yours? Some sort of mafia boss?” “No. He’s actually a doctor like yourself. Now, let me fill you in on the details…”

You may not see his face, but you know his gloves and voice! Dr Claw, the ever, mysterious, devious, and menacing mad genius and leader of the MAD Organization, seeks one thing: total world domination! Yet, despite all his planning, resources, and agents, he’s always getting thwarted by the bumbling INTERPOL cyborg: INSPECTOR GADGET (and Gadget’s niece Penny and dog Brain)!! One can’t help but wonder if, constantly having your schemes somehow be undone by a buffoon and his family, isn’t having a increasingly negative effect on the mad doctor’s already disturbed temperament!
