Enlightening Europe on Islam and the Ottomans by Carter Vaughn Findley

The cover on this book has the most pleasing, subtly cross-hatched, vinyl-y feel you could imagine. Forget the Ottomans, I'd buy this book just to run my nails over it for hours on end. All your friends will ooh and aah at this textural treasure. Board corners are bumped and spine is slightly cocked, but binding is tight and inside is clean and unmarked; very good condition.

I abhor the faux-rock background on these pages, it disgusts me to no end. Do not buy this book; the same effect can be achieved by alternating between staring at a rock and reading a book printed on a good Christian blank background, and you will save $500. Binding is tight and inside is clean and unmarked; very good condition.

Things my coworker did yesterday:

Convinced me they didn't have jumping jacks in Russia (he's Russian) and that he had never seen or done one, and then cackled with glee and confessed to his trickery after I demonstrated one. They do, in fact, have jumping jacks in Russia. Do not be fooled by your devious coworkers, my friends.

Shortly after this, the sound of crying babies started playing over the speakers. I assumed it was just the end of a song bc coworker had been playing some weird music, but then I went to change it and saw "crying baby sounds" pulled up on spotify.

It was a cursed day.

not to get political but im begging you guys to stop coming to hawaii. in maui theyre asking to put a ‘pause’ on flights bc we literally do not have enough room or staff to service you. the roads are so full that its causing a major backup when ppl need to get to work.

on top of this, i heard that by September? theyre expecting to get rid of the mask rule (if 70% of ppl are vaccinated/all goes well) but ill be honest w/ you, i know many locals arent getting the vaccine and i know plenty of tourist arent gonna take the necessary precautions.
