How Do I take Happiness
It feels very suffocating sometimes. It's unfair how we can't be peacefully happy. Happy without the thought that it might be taken away, instantly. Sometimes I feel burdened to share my news of blessings. Because some piercing eyes might not be happy about it. Maybe that is why after blessings, comes heartache? Somebody might be very busy praying to destroy you, your emotions, your faith? Do i sound very dark now? I know I don't sound like me at all. I struggle in every bit of it. I struggle in my downfalls, I struggle in my happiness. Maybe that is why I don't want to be connected after all. Coz, nobody feels real anyways. Is there no reason to be purely happy? Maybe I just grew up and realized the world is not that friendly. What do I do? What do I do? What should I do?

Ireland 2019
(Long post ahead)
I don’t want to miss a memory of my first Euro Trip, which is why I have to harness my old self to create this blog. The last time I properly wrote something this is ‘I think’ about a trip to Georgia in 2017. I though hope I can give justice this time despite the noise in my head. However, this Euro nature trip has given a lot of clarity and steadiness to my mental/emotional being (haha. hope it lingers).
I consider myself as a frugal person. For many years, I held back to any out-of-the-country vacations because I feel like I can save the budget for something else. Nevertheless, it is also true that LIFE IS SHORT, if you have the means, you have to go for it, and there is no need to be guilty in treating yourself the peace you deserve. Therefore, with a little push from our cousins, we went for our first Euro Trip in the country of IRELAND.
This might be a lengthy page but if you are interested enough, you can stick around. If not, no need to feel bad, this page is mainly for my future self anyways. :)
Visa Processing
As I am a Filipino citizen, I have to obtain an Irish tourist visa to be able to tour Ireland. Luckily, our visa processing went stress-free and quick. You have to prepare AED 400 per person for the visa. Just in bear in mind, that the amount is NOT refundable even if the Irish Embassy rejects your application. Therefore, I recommend you to prepare all the necessary documents and have a little faith, and oh apply early in case of a long queue of applicants.
Ticket
By the help of our cousins whom we were traveling with, we were able to secure a nice affordable plane ticket to Ireland. However, you can purchase discounted tickets by booking ahead or reserving on a low season. We just got lucky someone got our back. :)
Arriving in Ireland
We arrived in Dublin in an August month, which is supposedly summer season. However, as they say, Irish weather is unpredictable. Even if the forecast says it’s sunny, a small umbrella might become handy anytime. The Irish summer weather is already the winter-like feel in UAE so this has become an inside joke for us. Our lovely host picked us up from the airport and we headed directly to the county of Bray.
Looking through the bus window, the country’s emphasis on nature is undeniable. There is no bore staring at the delightful and misty trees and greens of the beautiful country. Additional points on placing designated spaces in the bus for baby buggy (their term for stroller), wheelchairs and elderly passengers, so you can tell where to settle.
We have reached the host’s apartment around 7PM and the sun is still astonishingly high up.
We prepared for dinner, our host prepared a nice beef marrow stew (or bulalo!) perfect for the nice cold weather. :)
DAY ONE:
It was a pleasant sunny day (but of course it will rain – Irish weather!) and we walked along the streets of the County Bray heading to what they call the Bray Head. We walked pass the striking brick structures, picturesque old European streets and nice smell of freshly baked bread from the bakery.

We stopped by the seafront to feed the Swans and few other sea birds where I thought will eat my hand as well. The jingle of seagulls refreshes my inner senses.

We then walked straight to the Bray Head. We were just in the ¼ of the hill but the view already astounded me! We cannot miss posing to this beaut!

We handpicked blackberries along the way. We took pictures of almost all trees, flowers, or rocks we spotted. However, the photos we took were an understatement of its actual splendor.

We descended from the hill to grab some lunch. Though we were not able to reach the top, it was still worth it! Something to look forward next time. :)

Super meaty pizza. And the servings here is not bad!

We boarded the train to Dublin to wander the capital city. This is where I saw flocks of people on the street. Compared to Bray, Dublin is busier but it has its unique beauty of course. We did a slight exploration. We passed by different architectural edifices, monuments, and stores. We bought souvenirs and beers along the way!

We have gone back to Bray after the city tour. Our host arranged Bile-flavored goat soup (Papaitan!) and crispy fried deer for dinner. It is my first time to taste deer meat, it really is marvelous, and the host cooks fantastic too!

DAY TWO! – Dublin City Tour and Guinness Store House Tour
We woke up from a very comfortable sleep and proceeded to the city of Dublin for the lovely city tour. Below were the few attractions we saw while doing the tour.
St Patrick’s Cathedral
Built in honor of Ireland’s patron saint, St Patrick’s Cathedral is built on top of a site said to be where St Patrick would baptize new converts to Christianity. With over two hundred religious relics housed within its walls, it traces Ireland’s religious past through the years and is a stunning architectural site with vibrant stained glass windows, an impressive altar and cathedral tower. © https://blog.dublinpass.com
Jeanie Johnston Tallship and Famine Museum
Famine and immigration are a key part of Ireland’s history, defining the 19th century and shaping the future of Irish descendants. The Jeanie Johnston Tallship, a mid-1800s wooden ship that transported Irish immigrants to Quebec, New York and Baltimore, has been restored to its former glory and transformed into an exploration of Ireland’s past through its rich exhibits. © https://blog.dublinpass.com
Trinity College Dublin
Not only is this institution one of the most respected universities in the world, it’s also an important cultural landmark in Dublin. With a stunning library that aches with history, its shelves are lined with thousands of age-old texts including an exhibit dedicated some of Dublin’s most famous illustrated 9th century manuscripts: the Book of Kells and Book of Durrow. © https://blog.dublinpass.com
Below were some places we have seen:
·         Ha’penny Bridge
·         The Convention Center
·         The Samuel Beckett Bridge
·         The Aviva Stadium
·         The Rotunda Hospital
·         Famine Memorial
·         Teeling Whiskey Distillery
Of course, not missing an opportunity to drink, we went down to the Guinness Storehouse stop and the guys rejoiced for excitement. We started with a short tour around the storehouse where the process of making the Guinness Beer was briefly illustrated. At the end of the tour, we had the opportunity to pour our ‘almost’ perfect pint of beer where we received a certificate for it! We stayed in the panoramic top floor and enjoyed our beers. It was a bit touristy during our visit, however, we loved the view and beers! Slàinte (translates “good health” or “cheers” in Irish)!

Tumblr media
After a long day in Dublin, we went back to Bray and indulged in the Bamboo shoot with Shrimp in coconut milk soup our host prepared. Yum!
DAY THREE!
Another day in Ireland and it is time to visit some castles! We planned to go to Malahide Castle and Gardens to spend a family day.
We paced through a charming forestry-like path with lots of various trees, flowers, and greens along the way. I innocently thought that this path is already very majestic but not until we reached the actual garden and castle. We were blessed with a bright, nice day, the sun is up and the clouds were blue and stunning. We straightaway took a snap of the place and pose in front of the castle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media

Tumblr media
Picnic style, we devoured our lunch, coffee, and indulged ourselves in the overwhelming emerald sight and the breath of fresh air. It was like the sensation of sitting in your childhood garden just being calm, happy, satisfied and contented. You have the choice to go inside the castle but we did not opt. You will be toured around the castle though you can’t take photographs inside.
We mostly spent our entire day inside the garden as it is far from another tourist spot. We headed home early and enjoyed some shopping. :)
DAY FOUR!
It is another fine day! We headed to the Powerscourt Estate, House and Gardens to enjoy the No. 3 Garden in the World! Although this day was the gloomiest among all the days of our vacation, on-off rain and shine, still, the sight is captivating. We went through a little uphill walk through the charming town of Enniskerry to reach the gate of the garden. From the estate gate, a scenic, forestry vibe welcomed us while we continued our hike towards the Powerscourt garden entrance.
We kicked off by having our lunch while watching raindrops wash the mystic greens outside the cafe. It was not long enough when the sun shone again for us to wander around the gorgeous landscape. We started walking through the Italian Garden where various statues, fountains, green landscape, and flower gardens reside.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Few more steps through the lotus-filled pond and a little detour to the left will lead you to the majestic Japanese Garden. It is visible by its multi-colored trees, including the Japanese maple trees (with orange or red leaves), bridges and the small temple-figured shade.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unfortunately, the rain did not permit us to go further to see the Pet Cemetery (few tombstones lined up where former estate families buried their beloved pets), and the tower valley (one tower sticking out from the enormous greens). Luckily, we have covered to best parts. Upon heading home, we have met Kevin (our cab driver). And he led us to the adventure for the next day!
Dinner at bray is a mouth-watering Isdang Paksiw by our beloved host.
DAY FIVE!
One of the most favorite part of the tour is our adventure this day. Our previous cab driver, Kevin, who also is an excellent guide, picked us. We headed to Glendalough, Wicklow.
Before reaching our destination, I cannot help but be amazed by the beautiful sight of County Wicklow. The vast field with several sheep on it, mountain views, humble Irish communities and the flowing group of pine trees gives my soul a fill.
Our first stop is the ever-magnificent Guinness Lake. The lake is situated in the middle of two Wicklow mountains which came from streams from Mountain Rivers. This same lake is used as a set for the famous “Vikings” series.
Tumblr media Tumblr media

After a few relaxing moments, Kevin took us to Glendalough. It is a nature park, entrance-free, showcasing the raw beauty of nature. We have walked from the visitor center to the Upper Lake. It is a pleasant hike filled with the nice nature-y ambiance of the place. And just when you think you’ve seen the best, wait till you reach the Wicklow Mountains side-by-side fuelling the life-filled lake (from the river streams). You can hike longer using another trail into the mountains if you opt to stay longer.

Tumblr media
A little drizzle to water this beauty. What a sight!
After that nice encounter, we went back to home bringing nice memories and enjoying a well-deserved dinner!
Tumblr media
Just yum!
DAY SIX!
We woke up quite early. 4AM early. Because me and my husband will be taking a 3-hour drive to today’s tourist destination. The day started gloomily. At 6am, raindrops continue to fall. At 7am, no sign of Mr. Sun. At 8am, we passed-by a cafeteria but the sky is all gray! We kinda feel down along the way, good thing Mr. T, our lively tour guide gave us a little laugh.
Despite the rainy state of the day, I still enjoyed the great wonders of nature. It cannot be denied, rain or shine. But it actually became brighter for us. On our first stop, the Bunratty Castle, in contrast to the dull start, rays from Mr. Sun actually welcomed us. Our spirits were up and we enjoyed the brief moment in the castle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We moved forward to our tour’s destination, the Cliff of Moher. We were so excited to see this place. Me and my husband are sorts of adventurous beings, so we always crave the daring! We finally reached the beautiful county of Clare. From the looks of it, we think we will have a very nice sunny and windy day.
As we jumped off the bus, we directly head towards the walking path to the Cliff of Moher. We hiked towards to visitors’ path but OMG the sight is heavenly! The splash of rough seas against the enormous rocks, the wind screaming behind my ears, the great blue sky, the green grass with sprouts of wildflowers, it’s mesmerizing! We climbed over the wall that separates the visitor’s path and cliff to enjoy the view more. One of a kind!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media

We had a hangover when we returned to the bus. We recapped our photos and still feel high and actually exhausted. We grabbed lunch at St. Patrick’s Bar (Fitzpartricks Bar) @ Doolin. We enjoyed the seafood chowder and roast beef leisurely, enough to fill our tummies. Good thing our tour guide know when is the best time to come so as to not get stuck with the crowd of tourist. Thus, we have a good eating spot.

Along the way, we stopped by The Burren, a region that is dominated by glaciated landscapes. The wind in the Burren is almost as strong as the Cliffs of Moher. We posed of what the guide called the “Baby Cliffs”.
Tumblr media
thanks for our jolly tour guide for helping us take this picture
We had an exhausting but satisfying day. We slept off the bus till we reached the opening to Dublin. It was really an experience of a lifetime.
Reaching Dublin, my lovely college classmate meet us and had dinner together. And that is our last dinner in Ireland before we head back to Abu Dhabi the next day.

Travelling is very refreshing in the mind. I feel like I am happier every time I set foot in a new place. It made me feel thrilled and excited on how many more places we can travel together and on how big and beautiful the world is. Thank You Lord for blessing us this travel!

Choose what inspires you
(Video below)
Very large percentage of you is influenced by something/someone else. You see, when you say that you are not the type of person who believes in love, it might be because you are raised like that (debatable). If you are brokenhearted lots of times but still manages to draw a smile on your face, it’s because you are surrounded by same type of people as you grow.
But traits and characters are not spoon-fed. At some point we influence ourselves by what we choose to do habitually. You love reading which makes you imaginative or lovesick. You love Stephen Curry that’s why you did not quit basketball when you thought it’s already time to retire. Everybody is influenced by something or someone at some level. That’s why it’s critical to choose what or who inspires you.
Sometimes it can be hard. Because loving someone is not imposed but somehow it can be thought (sorry I sound a little heartless).
Do you love Bob Marley? If yes, then maybe I know what you do extra which you cannot voice out (and it’s not music). Do you adore Cory Aquino? If yes, then you must like yellow (or her principles maybe)! If you love Paris Hilton then you must be investing on your closet. Or if you choose to admire yourself everyday in the mirror then someday you might consider yourself beautiful.
It’s fine. We do what we love to do (when circumstances allow us). People may not understand us, or worse they might criticize us. But if it’s makes you happy and IF IT MAKES YOU A BETTER PERSON, then smile. It’s your life and you upgrade yourself with every quality you acquire by doing the things you love - repeatedly.
As for me, I have my secret world. My books allow me to travel through space, time, and endless dimensions without moving a step. My family and loved ones give me enough courage to settle for what is BEST because if I can think of it, then I can achieve it, I was raised an optimist. My inner circle of friends thought me that life doesn’t need to be perfect for as long as we are together, craziness is really not a bad thing after all! There are many influences to mention but sure thing is, I live by God’s teachings, where a lighting torch guides me to the road of my dreams, my ultimate destination.  BE INSPIRED!
SO WHAT’S YOUR INSPIRATION?
PS. Here’s one of my unmentioned inspirations. Hehehe. Singit lang.
youtube
Btw, I compiled it and I can’t stop smiling while creating it. :)

Unexpected Side Trips!
Tumblr media
Heart is a home for the memories dear to us. It is the only storage that doesn’t have the maximum capacity or doesn’t hangs up when it is full (except when you’re too old). My story happened 4 years ago but the memories were as fresh as yesterday.
We are heading for our ACPAPP Convention to be held in Cagayan de Oro city. It is an annual convention joined by different CPAs in public practice all over the country; CDO will be hosting the 2011 event. Luckily, I was employed in a very generous company which shoulders the overheads going there.
Ahemm, I will be a hypocrite if I did not wish for some side trips. Well, expect that I will not lay down the details of our seminar, because actually, the side trips are the main events.
Let’s start the fun!!!
Right! We reached a day before the assembly and what happened next was pretty random yet …unforgettable.
First stop: Tinago Falls
Iligan city, neighboring Cagayon de Oro, is our first stop. Four of us grabbed our most comfy wear and drove from the wonderful City of Golden Friendship to the City of Majestic Falls.
Genuine beauty is hard to find. True enough, we have a tough time looking for the famous Tinago Falls (as everybody suggested us to visit). We rented a CDO cab to take us to the majestic falls. It took us a little bit of time to locate the place that’s why I suggest you rent with someone who exactly knows the place to save time. But in fairness, Mr. Nakalimutan (the cab driver, I forgot his name) is very supportive.
It is quite a trip. We get off the cab to see a forest-y place which I extremely love! We walked along the trees and grasses and stumbled on some “marang” which we munched along the way.
Tumblr media
It was never easy but good thing I’m on my slippers. Finally, we arrived but definitely not so fast. Welcoming us, is the 360+ steps going down. We have to take the challenge to trek the winding staircase to see the controversial splendor resting at the bottom. But do we really have to do this? The answer is YES! At first, we had a hard time making those steps. We have to be extra careful not to slip and some of the steps were also broken.
Much to our exhaustion, we made a lot of stops and catching of breaths. And yet, still we went on. Nearer and nearer, the gush of water, the tiny bits of the intriguing falls, is slowly unfolding.
I became very excited when I came to see some parts of the falls.
Tumblr media
Nearer…
Tumblr media
And nearer…
Tumblr media
My steps doubled (but still very careful), already ecstatic about the beauty unfolding. Finally,l it revealed its astounding splendor right before my eyes. Without exaggeration, the weariness from the long hike was all vanished!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The noisy water cascading into the basin-like lagoon was breathtaking; it is a kind of sound you can never get enough. The splashing of waters also brought dews flying around the expanse, very much captivating!
We rented the life vest for only Php 20. OMG! 20 versus the priceless beauty is nothing. The locals were also very enjoyable, little ones were swimming on the deep waters of Tinago and the tourists were as awe-strucked as me. We took a plunge on the greenish 100-ft (to exaggerate) deep water. We managed to take a little swim stone by stone to cross the other side.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Later, we decided to see the falls in HD. We are carried by a raft as we are holding a large rope connected to the falls. We started pushing ourselves closer to it. It is super heavy but again it is worth it. It’s all worth it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Caution: Going up the winding staircase is much more harder. Brace yourselves! :)
Tumblr media
Next: Ma. Christina Falls
Maria Christina Falls is not hard to find at all. It is Iligan City’s landmark and usual tourist spot.
Well known for its natural beauty and grandeur, the 320 - feet (98 meters) high waterfall is also the primary source of electric power for the city’s industries, being harnessed by the Agus VI Hydroelectric Plant. (source: Wikipedia)
Swimming on its waters is not allowed because of what I reckon is the big machine underneath. But it’s fine, because its natural beauty is enough to entertain. Though we are a little bit far from the falls, we can still hear the rushing of the water. If only we can feed ourselves only by looking at spectacular things, I would have stared all my life to it (figure of speech).
Tumblr media
Let’s have a closer look.
Tumblr media
Our cameras are not updated that time. No filters I say but you can’t deny the wonders it brings.
Next day: SEMINAR
Next day: SEMINAR
Next day: SEMINAR
In between are cowboy parties related to the seminar and our beloved Supervisor’s birthday.
Tumblr media
Next Stop: Camiguin Island
We decided to take a road trip going home and on our way we went to cross an island called Camiguin.
I can’t explain how overjoyed I am when we planned about this trip. I heard a lot of crazy beautiful things about this locale and I can’t wait to finally witness it! Using our colleague’s transport, we rode our way to the pier and booked a trip returning the same day.
We had a little bit of problem along the way because the weather was kind of angry. So I suggest do weather check before booking. But since we are bunch of random and crazy people, we sailed against the waves until we reached the Camiguin pier. J
We rented a multicab to take us around the island. Camiguin is a small island, it is not impossible to tour the whole place within a day (as Kuya Nakalimutan says). Along our way to the first stop, I can’t help but be mesmerized by the magnificence of its beaches! They are flawless and very natural.
Tumblr media
And mind you, the road is very clean!
Tumblr media
For our first stop, we decided to go on a pool party (and eat). This time, we went to Sto. Nino Cold Spring pool. “Cold” is an understatement about this pool, it should be VERY VERY COLD! (CapsLock para intense) Brrrrrrr. It has undeniably clear waters straight from the streams. You can actually get to swim with the fishes. And the food, which we just ordered from the stores outside the pool, was absolutely delicious and guess what… affordable!
Tumblr media
Foods are one of the main events too!
Moving on, we went to Old Church Ruins. The Old Church Ruins of Camiguin is one of the oldest and unique structures in the island. Old because it was built sometime in the 16th century. Unique because it is made from coral stones. It was later turned to ruins by the 1871 Vulcan eruption (source: Wikipedia)
If you are a green person (green as in the color green, no pun intended), this is a best place to visit. The structures were covered with wild green grasses and around are enormous trees. If you come to think of it, it’s kinda creepy but OMG, the magnificent scenery makes you scream more than the horror movies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If I could only hug its beauty I already did! Or maybe you know how?
Last destination of the day is the Sunken Cemetery. I think Camiguin is most famous by this landmark. Driven underwater when Mt. Vulcan Daan erupted in 1870’s, the large cross has served the town’s people, as well as the tourists, a scenic spot to memorialize the departed buried there (source: Wikipedia).
At first I am hesitant to touch its waters because I can feel the remains of the ones buried there in my feet. But how can I resist the clear and greenish water splashing on my skin???
But don’t worry, there are no remains as such.
Tumblr media
We rented a boat to reach the platform where the famous cross was situated. The locals were very accommodating and they are actually good photographers, they teach tourists how to pose with the mountain. Here’s my version. Lol!
Tumblr media
And our team looks very happy.
Tumblr media
We are supposed to visit the white island of Camiguin but we ran out of time. At least, we have more reasons to come back. By the way, we just posed on the rocks before going home.
Tumblr media
Unplanned trips sometimes become the best trips. The spontaneity creates wonders every step of the way. Much to my surprise, the results were exceptionally above any of the expectations I set.
You? Have you experienced one?

WEEKEND WITH FRIENDS
Always. I am a fan of green scenery, bluish/greenish waves, rustic orange falling leaves, or just a nice breeze kissing my cheeks. The more I get close with it, the more I feel like my soul is outpouring with joy. Can I just share and leak some of it to you?
I always dream of having that stress-free day detached from anything related to my busy world. Well, that is practically impossible (we are making a living here). But with the companion of some of the greatest people, fulfilling that one day can’t be impossible.
It was a nice Friday and we are geared for an ultimate birthday party. One of the greatest person I’ve ever known had her 23rd birthday last July 21st. Being as eager as she is, she wants to celebrate the same in the beautiful UAE emirate, Umm Al Quwain. Equally excited, I had no hesitation of joining.
Umm Al Quwain never failed my vast expectation. Though I may say that I have seen much more beautiful beaches and swam on even more stunning pools, I have to say the serenity is its best offer. Situated 60+ kilometers away from the much more famous Dubai (from where I live), Umm Al Quwain is a place visited seldomly by people over unplanned weekends (not to generalize). Needless to say, it is very peaceful that I can hear the birds chirping (or the crows as I heard it) and the waves from afar.

Inviting waves cannot be ignored. You can never resist taking a plunge upon feeling the gentle waves splashing on your toes. It is almost flirting and I can say it is very good at it.

But as I always believe, any place can transform into a paradise when you are with the greatest people in your life (and perhaps some beer). The presence of my dearest friends made this day one of the most unforgettable day of my life.

PS: I learned how to dive today. Thanks to my patient friend. :)

NYE 2014!!! <3
There are so many secrets in life, particularly, in my life … but not in Tumblr.
New Year! Yeppppeeeey! 01-01-2014. And when it is time to toss thay old calendar in the garbage, I always have this feeling of missing last year (which is just yesterday). Digging deeper, I miss my old life. That’s why every year, as much as I can, I celebrate new year the grandest way  I can. Which leads to this year's plan, SANDANCE, ATLANTIS (trying to break guinness record by firing up 400k fireworks and is where the after-party is!). Booked a ticket, made ourselves fixed, armed with necessary party gears ready for a blast!
The following details were supposed to be a secret .. so pls don’t ever share this to anyone, let them bump with this accidentally. :)
8pm. Arrived at the American Univ. of Dubai for our tix. Upon arrival at the area, an enormous crowd was waiting swallowing 3 more people as we join in. As we took our line to get our wristband passes (queuing is hell), the scene of pre-party experience was all over the place. Smokes, hats, lighting craps, drunk girls helpless in the ground. We spent unhealthy amount time just get those f****** wristband (which does not even sparkle) to get on the bus.
8:30. So, need to hop on the bus to reach our destination only to discover that a bigger crowd was waiting! Unbelievably, we swam through the huge sea of people. A potential stampede evident around the atmosphere. Barricades were starting to fall off. Sense of paranoia hit me, screams of hurt ladies surround the area,  eager lads were all over the place! This is so because panic is rushing on 2,000 people sighting only 3-5 busses on the parking. It took us one and a half hour to secure places on one of those busses. And I thought, finally!
10pm. This is were the traffic comes in. Within the hours of our aimless driving, too much heat was piling up inside the bus. “Close the f****** door!, Get your ass out of the f****** bus.” are just some dialogues. Someone’s vomiting, guys fighting, friends blaming, PANIC is all over. Me, I’m the window side, thinking, THERE’S NO WAY IN HELL I’M CELEBRATING NEW YEAR IN THE BUS! New year will be just one hour away and we’re still stuck in this huge huge traffic. It is impossible to catch the fireworks on time if scene like this continue. We’re even unsure about what the management plans for us. So after the long drive, we decided to get ourselves out from the bus and walk our way to Atlantis!
11pm. We jumped off the street barricade, crossed the closed roads and hurried ourselves towards the venue. Everyone was in a hurry. But the sudden turn of events switched our ruined mood. At 15 minutes before midnight we reach the i-don’t-know-what-it’s-called-bridge, we realized this will be the best place to see fireworks, where all 3 much awaited fireworks display can be captured (Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab & Atlantis). So when the clock strikes 12, the sky we’re filled with lights, each sights showcased their very own fireworks displays. And true, I enjoyed it! It was an action-filled night which we ended up meeting New Year in the Streets! It was indeed the WACKIEST NEW YEAR’S EVE OF ALL!!!
After Party. So? What’s can we get by purchasing ticket? No, this can’t be. With much hope in our hearts :*, we rushed to SANDANCE w-a-l-k-i-n-g again. And this time, my feet is already hurting sooo bad, it was a shoe bite :). There are some points in the streets were I walked barefooted and I seem to enjoy it. After like 3 kms walk - urrrgh, we hopped inside the same batch of bus we got off and banished out from the traffic and finally reached our destination, the SANDANCE!
So this is the part, where I say FINALLY! It was all worth it! Free merchandise, party all night, dance, laugh, take photographs, mingle, small conversation, ditching guys who said he wants to sleep with you (lols), vanishing in the crowd, going crazy, merry, happy! And it is the most memorable New Year of all! From stages to stages, I can see life as it is, full of pushes, frustrations, disappointments, full of shits, but the most important thing is to be focused of the goal and make sure you really want it (full-heartedly), because no matter how hard the process is, you’ll eventually get through it and finally, you can enjoy the sweetest victory there is.
Ps. I'm writing this last part 8mos from the said event and guess what the management plans for us? A REFUND! So life can be sweet sometimes huh? :)

Changes
There's always a chance of forgetting the ones you were and becoming the ones you are now. But no matter how hard you try, there's always that piece of the ones you were that completes the ones you are. And you'll realize, that right now, you are has always been the same as you were.

Rain and Rainbows
December 5, 2013
1t has been almost three months here in UAE and I have experienced every ups and downs there is as an expat. I came into an overwhelming twist of emotions that I too cannot imagine how I lasted this long without going crazy. Though I know there has been a lot of help that came to my mercy, I will give the biggest credit to my dreams.
1st week, I describe as hell! And even recalling my ordeals creates a sting in my heart. It made me want to forget the hardships, but remembering, also makes me a little bit proud for surpassing every single second of it. It was very overwhelming; it is such an experience I’ll never forget. Learning everything is a challenge, even knowing how to cook rice differently adds pressure on me. I first described people here as robots, they move hasty, they don’t even greet each other, barely smiles, basically bunch of stonehearted creatures. It made me lonely, even the thought of not trusting your own race also creates a certain scare on me of doing so.
Love, was then my weapon, but also my flaw. I seek company which can only be satisfied through phone calls. It relieves my pain but the agony goes on after hitting the “end call” button. It was like forever, waiting for the next year to come even if I just arrived. Then the applications, I’m not supposed to rest on applying for jobs, I send 10 applications everyday for the very least. But despite that bulk of applications, there are days I’m not getting any proper calls for interviews. I check on my phone every single hour, and it was disheartening to see empty notifications. It made me think that maybe I wasn’t good enough, or they didn’t like how I present myself in the CV. Though on my first week I got three interviews, and one of them called me that I got the job! Honestly, I was not happy though I’m thankful. I was caught in a dilemma of passing this chance for better ones or taking it thinking it might not come along again. I took a deep contemplation, asked for opinions that matters to me, some say I have to grab it for it comes rarely, some say I still have lots of days to find another opportunity which I can weigh out my options. But life is not as good as that, no options to weigh because just like any other, I have to line up and prove my worth, and thus I will be damn lucky if I have two jobs lining up for me. In the end, me being me (a risk taker), did not accept the job. And my biggest consideration is FEAR, fear of being held responsible because I will be appointed as an accountant and no one will assist me on my way, fear of the words of my fellow kabayan that the company is not as good as it portrays, and fear that I might regret being too fearful on exploring other opportunities the next days. And so with deep thoughts, I respectfully declined the offer.
Financial crisis then came in. I even sought help from my parents and sent me money to aid me on my finances. Buying a detergent soap has become a struggle and even cooking 2 chickens for myself is like a sin. I can’t even buy a decent slipper for myself. It was such a torment but it was inspiring that through this suffering, my glory days will come. I believe in MAGIC.
At last, I accepted an offer on my third week and I was really satisfied, the pay, the benefits, the people and the job itself. I was a junior accountant in a Media Company which I think is cute! I worked 9-6, though I need to be at the office by 8 (I’ll tell the story later) and leave by 7. It was very challenging and fun, though exhausting. I need to get up at 5am just to avoid that traffic at 6am even if it means reaching my workplace an hour earlier and the worse is leaving the office at 7pm then reach home 9pm-9:30pm. But the unexpected occurred on my second week of employeeship, I got calls from respected companies. Just when I feel I am already on my comfort zone, second thoughts then came in. I was offered a bigger salary and a bigger family to work on (thus career growth) in a very stable company (as one of the top 5 companies in UAE). I was rooting on entering the company ever since though I thought I did not pass the interview. And then, with a lot of apprehension and guilt, I left my current job and joined the company which I’m working today. People may not understand if I describe it as a roller coaster ride but as I remember this part of my life, it is.
Today, I’m still on that roller coaster, though I gotten used to the twists and turns. I still feel homesick, oftentimes depressed. I still reach office an hour earlier but I’ll be able to reach home at 7pm-7:30pm. I had a challenging role as an auditor and make me giggle to picture that I’ll be using this knowledge for my future company. I have a good and inspiring set of colleagues, a cool boss, and happy surroundings and a happier me. No, it is not perfect, it will never be, but when I look back through the ‘dark days’ I can say, I’m on the right track. And I’ll forever be grateful to everyone that made me do it.
My struggles will continue and my stories will pile up. But thank God for giving me a happy heart that made me trust myself more. I have been catching stars in my dreams and it’s time to make the dreams come true. <3

Promises of the Future
Painful. The very best word to describe whatever I'm feeling now. It's like everything you can do is to stare at spaces and sometimes cry out loud. It's a suffocating kind of pain. It's harsh. It's devastating.
I don't really have a very different story. I am once a well accomplished individual in the Philippines. I am a CPA who's now taking a great leap by furthering my career here in Dubai City. It was exactly my first week here. And i really can't say that this was a very amazing week. It was frustrating!
The very thing that is boggling me the most is my separation with my boyfriend. I can't find any outlet but to hear his voice or video chat. The process is way more painful than I thought I could endure. Though we had such experience of being in distance from each other but the thought of seas and countries separating us is very overwhelming.
I know I can't go on like this, especially that I still have to find a work here. I will be the strongest girl there is, as what I promised him. And I will never let go of that promise. Our love is the most precious thing that has ever happened to me and I want to build a future with him and me together. I will not surrender. I will endure, I will suffice, I will succeed. With God's help, I will reach the dream I have for myself and for the ones I love.

Ang akong journey. :)
it was a hard time choosing. "unsa ba jud akong gusto sa kinabuhi?" kay katong panahuna nga nagahuna2 ko sa akong kurso, wa jud koy klaro sa akong mga pangandoy. simple, "ang makahuman, mag travel daun, tapos mudato." very plain and usual.
yet i never chose the simpler path. akong gikuha kay Accounting. pero wala ko kabalu nga lisud2 diay na nga dalan ato nga time. igo rako namili, tapos --chedeeen-- accounting student nako sa UIC. sa akong 1st year, nasulod ko sa BSA-1A. tulo na xa ka section, 1B ug 1C ang duha. that time, c irvin lang akong kaila, & since taga probinz ko, mu-ok-ok jud ko. :D
BSA-1A
Makahinumdum pud ko nga whenever we're with Bernie ginatawag mig "Bernie with friends", siya raman gud maglabaw sa amu that time.
BSA-2 and BSA-3
Well, nakaabot man pd hinuon kog BSA-2 with Mr. Pastoriza, mao na siya ang highlight. Every start of class becomes a group study, memeorize diri, memorize didto, PAIT! but sweeet. daghan kaau mig matun-an kay sir. :D Naa pa juy time nga ulaw kaayu mi, gikasab-an mi sa Librarian, katong ISOG. Addressed to Accountancy students jud. Accountancy students ang pinakasaba sa Library according to UIC's history. Weh? Proud to be! hahahaha.
