I don't necessarily disagree with a lot of things you said, I agree that Red Team has become more bloodthirsty and selfcentered because of all the shit that happened to them in purgatory and that makes them more interesting to me. I think the conflict between them and Tubbo is interesting, like the final battle yesterday with Tubbo frantically logging in and trying to stop them when he realized they were trying to win despite what he said was really cool
But also since this is a more gameplay-focused event compared to other events I just find it hard to not think of things outside of RP. And the fact is the CCs want to play properly because they came so far and that influences their characters' actions. They didn't try entertaining the idea of the cursed team much from the start because in meta, they think the idea of a predetermined winner would make the event pointless, and I get that
Sure you might say that the criticism is just towards the characters, but acting super aggressively towards the characters and then just tacking a /rp at the end has never felt right to me when done towards any characters in qsmp, where the lines between rp and ooc are often very blurry
It's frustrating bc like, Cellbit will explain completely out of rp his reasonings for his thought process on how he thinks the event works, and then people will cry with rp arguments "oh so you dont care about the eggs" like I've seen ppl implying that cheering for red team is cheering for the eggs to die and that only Blue Team is fighting for the eggs, or they want the eggs to die to spite Red Team and stuff like that and its like bro.... I love the eggs I love the story but I also love competitions! and to me it would be a bad writing decision if the story interfered heavily with the results so that any team was framed in a bad way for trying to win, specially with how toxic this fandom can get when it comes to the eggs. If it turns out that Tubbo is right and all the hints are true and the Blue Team wins and everyone is happy and safe in the end I would still not be satisfied with that
To be clear I think it's fine for Blue Team in-character to theorize about the cursed team and feel frustrated that Red Team doesn't want to listen, and for blue viewers to feel frustrated, just like I felt frustrated with some of blue team's actions. My frustration is more about a specific trend I've seen where people have already accepted Tubbo's theory as truth and hate on Red for not believing it, and even being mad at them for not believing it because of meta reasons(even if they translate that into roleplay reasons). even if they talked about it people would continue to hate them for choosing the option that in their view "kills the eggs"
sorry if this got rambly and maybe off-topic lol hopefully it makes sense
tbh it's really annoying to see people acting as if tubbo's theory is 100% confirmed and red team is oh so selfish and dumb for not believing him. like it would make sense for them not to trust any info from red eye(like the videos). at the end of the day we don't actually have much concrete evidence either way and it's more interesting if both teams have conflicting theories anyway

since purgatory is ending here is a messy list of random BOLAS?!?!?! moments I liked since they were my main POV
- THE GAS MASK DEATH CULT!!! It was so iconic and I can imagine them just acting like normal when they go home but once in a while making some unnerving reference to the Gas or something 😭 haha remember that time we were in a cult guys that was crazy... *eyes twitching bc of toxic gas abstinence* they will never look at a gas mask the same way again and neither will I
- It was so sweet how much more they bonded and how they mostly tried to log in together. It was surprising how much Charlie logged in this event even off-stream, but even if it isn't his typical gameplay style you could tell he just enjoyed spending time with BOLAS?!?! :')
- All the Dadza jokes lol Loved it when Phil would log off and they'd just be completely lost and be like WHAT DO WE DO NOW??? DO WE FALL AND DIE??? DO WE GIVE EVERYTHING WE HAVE TO BLUE TEAM??? DO WE INVITE BADBOYHALO OVER?? LMAO
- Also Baghera sometimes playing a bratty kid and being super happy whenever she got Phil's approval 😭😭 and the way how this relates to her lore and how she never had a real childhood WAWAWAWAA
- BAGHERA'S CHAINSAW!!! the stuff of Quackity's nightmares LOOL please giver her a chainsaw at Quesadilla 👉👈
- Girlboss gatekeep gaslighter Jaiden... that day she just kept dying and playing up the damsel in distress card and then got kidnapped by the Blue Team AND THEN kidnapped the Green Team(?)'s goblin by complete accident that was so funny lmaooo
- The entirety of Day 2 from Red POV felt like a sitcom episode lol Like Charlie's POV in particular was insane, when he kidnapped the fucking NPC and then chased Quackity and then they tried gaslighting him in global chat akkasjdkkdkd and all that culminating in their first win after a rocky start, that day was just pure CINEMA
- CARRE THE ARGENTINIAN BEAST !!! even if he didn't log in as much I think him being there for the first days was crucial for Red's morale lol, love the way he would mostly play silently and then unmute to say something unhinged, the "ay papi" clip is a one shot kill for me even when I know it's coming
- The fucking "HOLY SHIT KILL YOURSELF" from Jaiden with Charlie going "LET ME GO!! LET ME GO!!" while everyone else equally died in the bg when they got a disaster in day 1...... that clip is everything to me
- THE FUCKING BARKING AND CHANTING EVERY TIME THEY GOT TOXIC GAS AJSJDJDJAK???!?!?
- Ok the Egg War event in general was so cool. Foolish's castle was the true star of the show and it was great how he and Cellbit worked together to make the perfect fortress. And Cellbit's strategy of not showing the egg's location on-stream made me even more tense as a viewer because I had NO IDEA whether green team was getting close to the egg or not
- Slimeriana reunion! That happened. In the Global Spawn Pool. Yeah. Let us never speak of it again
- That clip of Cellbit oneshotting Tina and her scream being cut off 😭
- The clip of Phil just leaving a serious discussion with Fit and BBH and then seeing Baghera laughing hysterically and her saying "PHILZA GET IN THE VC!! :D" and he gets in and they're just playing loud vaccuum noises while mining sand lmao
- When everyone was discussing the egg statues on VC and Bagi and Cellbit were yelling at each other(in RP) and Bagi called him her brother and Phil went "YOU GUYS ARE SIBLINGS???" and then Cellbit muted her, peak sibling behavior
- Tubbo saying "okay gay murder boy" and Cellbit responding "hows fred btw" and Tubbo logging off LOL I just love every moment of qCellbit and qTubbo being toxic gays towards each other
- oh god how could I forget, CELLBIT BEING DISTRACTED BY ROIER'S MUSCLES DURING THE EGG WAR I HATE THEM😭
- And finally, something I'll really miss from this event: when the server would close and all the CCs would hang out together in VC and talk about the day and play games together :'')
could list more but I'm tired and just going off memory. anyways rip purgatory it was def exhausting but overall i did have a lot of fun(definitely more than the election LOL)

i can understand your frustration, i didn't watch the full discussion yesterday so i won't comment much about it
my frustration as a red pov is just seeing some people have the most bad faith reading of them like they suddenly hate their children just bc they think it's fun to try to win a competition event (not implying that you said this, just comments ive seen on both twitter and tumblr)
tbh it's really annoying to see people acting as if tubbo's theory is 100% confirmed and red team is oh so selfish and dumb for not believing him. like it would make sense for them not to trust any info from red eye(like the videos). at the end of the day we don't actually have much concrete evidence either way and it's more interesting if both teams have conflicting theories anyway

qsmp cursed team rant LOL
genuinely i hope the cursed team stuff isn't actually real and doesn't actually affect the competition because i think it would be so boring from a content perspective. "ok we have this evidence that blue team is cursed now red team just give up tomorrow". sorry but that's lame as hell. and this has been my opinion from the very beginning of the event
qsmp isn't ONLY a roleplay server, it's a content server, and in fact there are many streamers in the server that don't care about roleplay all that much. there have been many lore and roleplay-focused events in the past months, wasn't this supposed to be THE tryhard event? wouldn't it feel super lame to punish the players for wanting to win by setting up a winner from the start?
i love the eggs and all but i can't help but think about this stuff from a meta perspective as well like slime and cellbit, bc it would just feel unsatisfactory for both the CCs and audience for them to be like "congrats for you efforts now the eggs are permadead and everyone will hate you now for being the team that killed the eggs byeeee!"
like even if there is a cursed team i don't think it will be a hopeless situation, i think it's very unlikely we're not getting the eggs back (or a real fair chance to get them back, not this cursed team bullshit) regardless of results
i think qtubbo's theory is very cool, and i'm sure there will be interesting roleplay consequences for red team ignoring him. but for me that's stuff to think about after purgatory. for now i really just wanna enjoy the competition
red team will try to win tomorrow, and people will say they're heartless and don't care about the eggs and whatever but the ccs are having fun competing and i'm having fun cheering like i'm in a football game, and if the result of that is the eggs dying at this point i don't even care anymore lol not because i don't care about the eggs but because i just don't think it'd be a good decision for them to just. die like that bc of some arbitrary thing, without the parents having a fair chance of saving them

never watched heartstopper but the kit connor situation is so frustrating
ppl really need to stop treating actors like fictional characters. they do not exist to be your "representation", they are human beings. kit is 18, he's probably still figuring out lots of stuff abt himself including the ins and outs of his sexuality, thats a private and personal process, he is not less entitled to privacy just because he is a "public figure".
when you start getting way too obsessed abt knowing some celebrity's sexuality maybe ask yourself honestly... why tf do you care like truly. like is it worth it to push a queer person out of the closet just for your own satisfaction or to feel like you helped end queerbaiting or whatever. like whats the net positive, whats the point

“We chose the term “asexual” to describe ourselves because both “celibate” and “anti-sexual” have connotations we wished to avoid: the first implies that one has sacrificed sexuality for some higher good, the second that sexuality is degrading or somehow inherently bad. “Asexual”, as we use it, does not mean “without sex” but “relating sexually to no one”. This does not, of course, exclude masturbation but implies that if one has sexual feelings they do not require another person for their expression. Asexuality is, simply, self-contained sexuality.”
— The Asexual Manifesto, Lisa Orlando and Barbara Getz, 1972

thinking abt how the only plastic surgery i would actually want is top surgery... i think having a completely flat chest would be very Gender. when nd stevenson posted abt his top surgery i was like "god i wish that were me" it was def the vibe i wanted aksjdj
the only 2 reasons i wouldn't do it is:
1. my boobs are already super small and dont rly bother me in my daily life, so its nbd
2. surgery/hospital stuff scares me, and this is something just appearance-related(aka not "necessary") that isnt even something thats like a huge priority for me like i said, so like. why would i bother making myself anxious over a surgery that isn't necessary to my health ajshhf
but also if i could make a wish to a genie or something and go "boobs go away" and boom, id do it

This will sound like a joke but I’m serious. My first introduction to postmodern queer theory was stumbling on a televised talent show as a pre-teen and watching this woman smash soda cans with her breasts. When the judges asked her a predictable question, if I recall correctly, she answered: “they’re fake but they’re real.” I knew what she meant. She’d had implants, sure, but she wasn’t just wearing a prop she could put on or take off. She wasn’t trying for verisimilitude—her breasts were real simply because they were hers. Ever since I’ve been fascinated by the possibility of something being real and fake at the same time, and the truth that these aren’t static or mutually exclusive categories. I think of all the people who have doubted the authenticity of my faggy mannerisms, accusing me of putting on an act instead of being myself. I feel so much pressure to say that this is just who I naturally am, but this is only half the truth. I do like being feminine, I do like being over the top, I do like being tacky in the most delightful ways, and sometimes I emphasize these parts of me just because I can. We can choose who we want to be and still be real. Anyway as I typed this I looked up the video and found that during that woman’s performance Dynamite by Taio Cruz was playing so good for her.

as a bi person, i feel like a lot of bi people on this site are hypersensitive to people making incorrect generalizations about what bisexuality means (or rather, what it can mean, since every bisexual is going to have a different relationship with their identity), so after they’ve encountering *some* definitions of pansexuality that imply bisexuality is transphobic/binary/less progressive, a lot of us have made pansexuals into a scapegoat to take out our frustrations on over the biphobia we encounter in online spaces (because, let’s be real, in real life most people don’t really know what pansexuality even is & after you explain it to them, most people go “okay, so kind of like bi, but maybe a little different” & personally i know people irl that use the two labels interchangeably since the reality is that both labels describe the same/similar experience of being attracted to all genders/experiencing attraction regardless of gender, depending on how people personally conceive of each identity, which is always going to vary based on personal experience). the fact of the matter is that a large chunk of modern-day biphobia harkens back to the AIDS Crisis, waaay before pansexuality was even a thing. harmful stereotypes about us & tensions between us & lesbians & gays were not caused by “pansexuality” entering the queer lexicon. there are self-identified battleaxe bisexuals on tumblr that do call out biphobia, promote bi resources, and share bi history in addition to provoking pansexuals, but there are a good amount of blogs i have seen that seem to reflect the idea that hating on pansexuals is bi activism praxis. bisexuals have every right to push back against those that reduce our identity & all that comes with it down to an ahistorically narrow definition or paint us as shallow or only caring about our partners appearance/body/sex, but telling pansexuals that they are inherently transphobic, that they’re wrong about their identity, that all bisexuals define themselves as experiencing attraction regardless of gender is just limiting how bi+ people are allowed to conceive of their own sexuality, including people that actually identify as bi. at this point, i feel like the two labels are pretty much interchangeable & the problem comes in when people try to force a clear distinction by trying to define bisexuality & pansexuality in opposition to each other. i wish more people that identify with one label more than the other or with one exclusively would say something along the lines of, “both identities describe attraction to multiple/all genders, but the label i chose is the one i’m personally comfortable with” & leave it at that. i am tired
im so tired too lol but Thank you, this was also really well said. (my only addendum if you don’t mind, is that pansexuality was emerging as an identity term pre and mid AIDS crisis! though at the time it was still mostly within BDSM/kink communities and San Francisco play parties used to describe like “i’ll top/bottom/dom/sub whoever”)
