the “purpose” of the trolley problem isn’t to artificially manufacture a way to save everybody. The question it asks is whether it’s morally better to commit an intentional act of violence that harms fewer people or to not intentionally commit harm even if the result is to cause more harm than the intentional act. Furthermore, the crucial element is that you don’t have time to do anything besides nothing or the very simple act of switching the tracks. It is not a commentary on solving a broken system or a creative writing exercise. All trying to “fix” the trolley problem does is highlight your discomfort with difficult questions and scenarios.

we do not talk enough about how you get hit front and back by being a jew and supporting Palestine. For a recipe that i want to make during Shabbat I have to scroll through a jewish recipe blog and cringe at the I Stand With Israel posts and then go back.

so a bunch of jewish spaces aren't safe anymore or are landmines. then you're forced to go someplace else. then there's tumblr with the people who think Jews=Zionist.

hey just reminding everyone again that tumblr user heritageposts is a know violent jew hater, and a couple months ago created a list of jewish tumblr blogs which is obviously meant for harassment (they have a very large follower base thanks to the original purpose of their blog before their new purpose became spreading antisemitic lies). they are not a reliable source on the war currently happening in israel and gaza. even if you don't agree with me on everything, and I know most of you don't, please, please, please do not listen to them. unfollow them. I've blocked them. I think you should also block them.

and always do your research before hitting reblog, please. even when I see posts saying things I agree with, I go hunting for a source because I don't want to reblog something about a topic that is incredibly important to me that is not true (and this is not limited to i/p, btw, please research everything).
