Adieu Levihan
I’m satisfied with the final animation of AOT, especially Levihan aspect.
Levi reminiscing
By far the focus was on Hange. Throughout the series, Armin is a mirror image of Hange, the personality, the intelligence, and even the mode of death. Levi entrusted the future to Armin, “that kid who had the same look in his eyes as you'. 'You' is not a single person here, but everyone(お前ら), and from the manga panel, we see whose eyes he meant.
Hange is so~~ gorgeous in this scene.
2. Farewell scene.
Again Hange is at the center and foremost. She has vivid expression as if she’s still alive, and no more need to comment about the hand.
It is said that IH originally tried to depict the "dedicate your heart scene" such that Levi holds Hange’s hand, and then Levi tries to keep that hand untouched till the end. Obviously, Levi cannot fight as such, thus, the scene was changed as Levi thumping Hange’s heart.
3. Lollipop scene.
The last airplane scene was a bit unrealistic because only 2 years after total annihilation, the cities are perfectly restored and airplanes could fly as if nothing happened. Animation scene of everyone planting trees makes more sense. MAPPA previously created official lollipop connection, and it’s no brainer that Levi thinks of Hange (not the clown) when he hands out the lollipop.
This may be my final post for Levihan. I was so happy with Levihan and all the wonderful people connected by it during the last 2 years.

AOT at last!
It was a 11 (for manga) and 10 (for ani) - year saga, although it was only 1.5 year for me.
The drama and its characters were totally mesmerizing, and although the most important attraction for me was Levi-Hange relationship, the whole theme of AOT was also strongly resonating in our chaotic world.
I can’t believe that IH released the first manga draft at the age of 24. His view of the world was painfully gloomy.
However, a sprinkle of love and hope drove AOT till the end.
The main idea of AOT is reflected in this remark by Yelena.
In the last episode of the animation, conversation between Armin and Eren seems to be the definite edition of the whole series. Manga AOT was heavily criticized for this scene, because it seemed to justify genocide and Eren’s choice.
In the ani, this conversation was cleverly changed such that they say 'we’ll meet in hell'.
Personally, I’m satisfied by Eren’s self-confession, which was not in the manga, either. Eren has been my anti-hero from the very beginning, and this finally settled my sentiment about him.
On the other hand, despite the ugliness of beast titan, I was somewhat fascinated by Zeke and his ice-cold cynicism about the humankind all the time. He had enough of heart to be persuaded by Armin, though. “Life is futile after all, but it doesn’t mean that it is meaningless.”
The ending of AOT gives us much thought about the humanity. Despite the elimination of titan power lont time ago, Paradis was still destroyed by outside world, and the earth devil might have contemplated another solution. I may not be alone to feel deeply sad with this ending, which is pretty much what we see every day in this cruel world that we live in.

Adieu AOT
missed the final, but it seems that MAPPA did a good job this time and gave Hange a due credit.
Levi, my boy, I was watching over you. You did a good job.

Levi's Gaze Towards Hange Over Their Years Together
Gazing into Hange's eyes to stop her from being overly excited about going out the walls as a measure to keep her from doing something drastic because of her love for Titans.
Levi's gaze after silently watching and patiently waiting to pick up Hange after her research on the new Titan crystal.
Levi not being able to hold Hange's soft and understanding gaze after asking for forgiveness for losing her squad members.
Levi's gaze as he watched Hange leave the barracks with Connie, making sure they left alright. Not taking his eyes away until they were out of view.
Finding out Hange is alive after the explosion that took out Shinganshina and most of their comrades. The shock of seeing her alive and not being left alone.
Silently watching Hange as she read through Grisha's notes after the battle of Shinganshina. Watching from her blind spot so that he doesn't get caught and can observe longer without getting caught. Still taking in that Hange really is there and alive.
Protectively looking over Hange as she ventures into the unknown waters. Instead of looking over Eren and the other kids, or even watching the vast ocean of water in front of him, making sure Hange is alright and doesn't get hurt.
When they're at their most vulnerable and finally letting their deepest wishes of living together through the war, and hinting at the deeper feelings they hold for each other get voiced out as a possibility.
Realizing this is the last time he gets to see and be next to Hange. The last gaze and last time he willingly looks at her before her sacrifice. Keeping in memory her being alive instead of watching her death so she could live on in his heart and mind forever
There's so many more I wanted to add but I'm restricted to 10 GIFs per post. But this is enough to show how much Levi cared for Hange.
Am I in pain? Absolutely. This pairing is both the most beautiful and most devastating. The true definition of understanding and unconditional love. I hope they do have a happy life together in the afterlife.

Hange, oh!
I want to rant away about why Hange has been always so depreciated.
First, I refuse to call Hange, 'them', because erasing Hange's gender as neutral seems like denying that one with such a great quality can not be a woman. Yes, despite whatever Yam said, Hange is a woman to me.
Second, in the ani , Hange was always an exaggerated weirdo character more than in the manga. Even Yam first imagined Hange that way, that's why he was surprised by Hange's popularity. Contrary to Levi, a character intentionally designed by Yam for fan's love interest, Hange grew with fan’s love because of her superb personality.
Third, although I prefer MAPPA than previous one, MAPPA did not avoid the error of reducing Hange in many of the scenes, for example, she showed strong solemnity about her disgust against genocide, but in the ani, she just uttered a sigh of lament.
Like many of my Levihan friend, I was not satisfied by the rushed animated farewell scene. More than Levi's, Hange's feelings were wiped out. This is in stark contrast to the additional scene of season one, when Petra's dead body was dumped to the ground. Petra is a rare figure in AOT, whose presence only justifies male love interest. She's a lovely characater exuding feminity and probably that's why she was considered deserving extra time despite her feeble presence. I doubt the reason why Hange was downgraded by the ani makers was that a female character with strength and leadership does not qualify for a personal feelings.
No matter what, Hange is my inspiration, and will always be.

This is truly the additional scene they deserved, but I'm not surprised if MAPPA could not do that. I feel that the whole AOT team was rushed to end the series despite their efforts and time. I don't think I will watch the final final in the autumn.
See you Hange, Sayonara, my queen....

R U ready for the heartache?
My beloved Levihan comrades ! It’s been a long time. My January plan of travel to Japan (as well as my plan to see the AOT musical) was botched because of my family affairs. Now I’m quietly waiting for our final season, for which I’m not ready.
In the meanwhile, I imagined who would be the best Levihan real life characters, just for fun.
For Hange, I always thought of Keira Knightly. Her personality, intelligence and beauty perfectly align with Hange.
Someone mentioned Dakota Johnson, with which I also agree. The last scene of Hange is a mirror image of Dakota.
About Levi, I always thought of Asian actors, one of whom is Yagira Yuya, the Japanses actor who appeared in “nobody knows.” He was the youngest awardee for Cannes festival for his leading role in the movie, which is absolutely unforgettable. Quentin Tarantino said that “All I could remember is his eyes."
Another one is a Korean actor named Lee Jun Ki. His debut as a King’s lover boy was sensational in Korea. Also, he tells a lot of story with his eyes.
Is it only me that think of Kristen Stewart as both Hange and Levi?
Extra. My mom’s ex-heartthrob Roger Taylor(the drummer of Queen) as Armin.
