Perfect Heaven

Dio’s eyes shot open suddenly surprised to find himself..where? Back in that manor house in Great Britain, what was he doing here. The color of the walls, the windows, even the couch he could feel underneath him all of it was familiar and yet he had to wonder what he was doing back here. This place had turned to ash ages ago. He also took a look at himself, he was the same age he had been upon first entering this house all those years before.

The feeling of someone next to him jolted him out of his thoughts and he turned his head to the left to see a spot of dark blue hair next to him. The shuffling of Dio caused this person to stir and when they sat fully up he did not want to believe his eyes. Jonathan..his adopted brother. The thorn in his side years ago, the pest, the annoyance, the nuisance! Why would he be here with him?

He watched Jonathan as he began to stir which caused him to jerk out of his thoughts looking down noting that Jonathan looked the same to. The same as he used to dress in their youth, like time had reversed itself. Keeping his gaze on him he watched as he shifted to wake, appearing to wipe away a tear? Why? A tear for who? Him? Surely not.

He just kept watching as Jonathan slowly rose up after clearing his face off opening those frustratingly blue eyes his own going slightly wider when he noted around Jonathan’s neck a scar, so very faint but noticeable.

“Oh! Dio, You’re here!”He said in that familiar cheery voice he was so used to from the day’s of their youth. “You’ve kept me waiting for a while, you know.” He said with a smile staring at Dio who was speechless, trying to figure this all out. Where were they, he knew he had been defeated so why would he end up here. Why would their old childhood home and Jonathan’s smiling face be the things to greet him in the afterlife? Was this even the afterlife? A slice of heaven?

“Dio?” Jonathan’s cheery voice questioned and he had an urge, one he didn’t understand perhaps it was an urge of a long turmoil filled life or the lingering thought of the days of their youth that Jonathan had extended his kindness to his adopted brother even though it had been the first time they met and he could have just as easily as shut Dio out. Wanted nothing to do with him and yet he never did such a thing.

With a swift motion he grabbed ahold of Jonathan in a tight embrace, something so very unlike him and kept hold not wanting to let go. Jonathan blinked but offered a soft smile and wrapped his arms around Dio and just sighed.

“I am glad you are here.”
